    I am proud that I was able to call a Syrah based on your description. But that’s also a testament to your ability to describe a wine. I love watching your content. Thank you for what you do.

    During the pandemic I would have a malbec that I loved ( I think it might of been from the Rothchild estate), it had a aroma that was reminiscent of ladbanum resin when burnt; an aroma I find appealing and uplifting!

    A thorough and fun refresher. The Nebbiolo and Syrah comparative graphs you 🖌️ are an interesting way to think about the wine. Gotta love a MP graphic !🍷

    Great Video! I never tried the tongue on the roof of the mouth technique for tannin and the retronasal olfaction was very interesting. I tried some of these steps with a Brunello while watching. Fun times!

    That breathing technique, wow, learn something new. At wine tasting I always felt I was missing something by spitting. Thanks

    If the wine is on sale, Im buying it. If it tastes good, it's a bonus. If it tastes bad, chug it for the buzz. Same with craft beers.

    That was great, thanks! You did this a bit verbally, but do you have a blind tasting flowchart?

    • @winefolly
      @winefolly  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I do! winefolly.com/deep-dive/blind-wine-tasting-grid-pdf/

      @@winefolly The grid is great. Between this and all the info in your book, all the knowledge is there, but what I was really thinking about is a flowchart in how to differentiate wines that might be similar in one characteristic or the other. So, walking through the mental steps you're doing in order to decide grape it is (like you do in some of your videos). For example, if I have a medium purple wine I'm thinking Malbec or Syrah based on your poster/book (ignoring Teroldego for the moment), so maybe next I'm thinking that Syrah will be the one with higher acid and tannin, and maybe pepper. Anyway, I love all your content! Happiest of Holidays!

    3:43 Nah, nah. This is the only one you got wrong. You see, my girlfriend tells me that real pros swallow...

    As an Italian, it’s morally unacceptable to not swallow the wine 😉

      omg. so sorry. Hopefully not anosmiac too though? Your nose will find the way. Even if you are, I know a master sommelier who is nearly anosmiac and passed the blind tasting with clues from the palate alone. We are amazing creatures.

    MP, you are on fire lately, by that I mean your videos. This is excellent. As Julius Caesar famously said: “Vidi, Disceri, Bibi,” (I watched, I learned, I drank) or something like that? Almost as great as this one you made a few years ago? “Red-velvet cake…” 😊 th-cam.com/video/swPhcBsgYig/w-d-xo.html
