In this video we are doing some drawings with both pencil (a lead holder, which actually uses graphite, of course) and markers, which label themselves as pens. The pencil is an OHTO Sharp Pencil 2.0, and the markers are Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I like that the lead holder has a real eraser on the back, it's a generous size, but the pencil is beefy and so it doesn't fit in my lead pointer, but sometimes I like the organic self-sharpening that happens during use anyways.
Also one of the main downsides I noticed of mixing these two mediums is that the graphite on the paper can dirty up the markers a little, which is visible both on the tips and on the strokes being made. But once again, not a dealbreaker, it just makes the marker experience a little less crisp.

I want to make my own 2.0 lead holder, maybe even a 5.6mm holder. I just want to turn a cylinder of brass down into an ergonomic shape and use the guts from a cheap holder inside of it. Just chuck the cylinder up into my drill and spin it while I shape it with my files. Work it up to about a 600 grit sandpaper.

I use tombow pens so much, sometimes with pencil. There’s a little bit of smearing when I do yet they go well together, and I like the blended effect of coloring tombow pens on top of each other. But I do think of them as markers....
I am not very into pens and lines. I am however into people who have love for their craft. You have love for your craft and the tools needed. I salute your enthusiasm.

When my family moved out to a new city in the mid 90’s, any time we’d drive from the next city over to home at night, we’d pass this big power plant off in the distance. At night it would be totally lit up with hundreds of points of various colored lights. My mom, sister, and me came to call it the “jewelry box” because of how sparkly and dazzling it was. Good memories. 🥰

I'm really happy that you included the dual brush pens (markers?) in this video :) they are my favorite marker to draw with! I mostly draw plants because plants just get me. perhaps I also photosynthesize. the brush nib makes my drawings look and feel a little more organic. no pesticides on my paper. I always admired how you draw humanoid features, Peter. Its so... Peter-esque. I wish I could go back to the time before my brain comprehended facial anatomy so that I could try to replicate a similar style, but it'd be very difficult, if at all possible.
Edit: the drawing at the end of the video seems more anatomically correct, and I assume that's what Peter was going for so I hope I'm not offending him. I was referring to the humanoid figures with skewed and unproportionate features

Hey, Peter. This was a good one! I liked that you tried something a little different. I’ve been branching out myself lately. A while ago, you taught a wonderful lesson about an interesting individual named Barth. You made it sound like you had some other lessons planned, and I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I am very interested in learning more about the various figures that live throughout the universe.

I've always liked to have deliberately sketchy pencil lines and then colour with a marker or watercolour. I'll even do more pencil lines on top to emphasise details
