And in my opinion, the parents were the biggest culprits here. In Rachel's case however marrying an alcoholic surgeon with gambling problems and stealing from your grandmother and lying about it through Instagram . That is a complete recipe for disaster not to mention your whole reputation will be destroyed forever.

Funny how it is always the VICTIM who is often advised to be the better person, but never once is an attempt made to call out the aggressor to stop and mend their disrespectful ways. So, forgiveness for these relatives? Absolutely not. I disagree with this statement of “Try to be the Better Person”. If anything, we should give Emily, the main character of this story, her dues. She acted with far more restraint and treated them with a little respect. If I had been in her shoes, I would have gathered all that evidence and shown it on social media and let the whole wide world know what a greedy, money-hungry, and materialistic gold digger her sister really is, who, despite having so much wealth, resorts to stealing from her grandmother. Plus, I would have rubbed salts on the wounds at every chance I would get when they fell down, the same way they mocked my life choices all these years. And if that’s not enough, I would have pushed back by hiring a lawyer and made their situation even worse by filing a public humiliation and defamation lawsuit against the sister, and gone far enough to get a permanent restraining order against the sister, mother and father from coming anywhere near me or Mike. This way, I do not have to see their rotten faces for as long as I can help it. Also, I would have encouraged the grandmother to press charges too for stealing from her. Forgiveness is only for the weak. In today’s day and age, if you screw me over, I let Karma take care of you, but you screw my family over (like they did Mike here), I WILL BE THAT KARMA.
