  • This video is about replacing a Troy Bilt 42T Carburetor. While cleaning it is one option, we decided to replace it so we didn't have to troubleshoot any more issues. I hope it's helpful to you.

You did a good job. There is a TH-cam video on replacing the carburator much easier. Me I only have my right arm. A person with two arm wouldn't have that much problems.

Why not just remove the 2 yellow rods to take carb off of that plastic piece, instead of removing the plastic piece from the mower? If that question makes any sense.

Does anyone know what the electrical connection is at the bottom of the carburetor bowl? I noticed that mine has a black wire that is connected and it also has a green wire that is not connected. Wondering if previous owner disconnected this or if this was done at factory as an optional connection

Remove the engine cover first and everything is more easily accessible

Why don't you take the top cover off, make it easier

😂😂 this is the lazy way to doing it and I’m definitely not taking my cover off. Seems like less steps but less room to work.

Too much trouble. In another video, it shows a simple way to do it. Remove the cover, the choke cables, and the two screws attached to the carburator and you done.
