    Nice video tour; thanks for posting! I was an Airport Planner working for the firm which prepared the planning and programming documents for Terminal A-West and Terminal F. I did a TON of other work at PHL, too! In order to expedite the actual construction of these two terminals, the City allowed US Airways to serve as the sponsor during their construction (i.e. the private-sector can complete large scale construction projects more efficiently, and quickly). We served as the City's representative during construction.

      Thankfully, every airport, even with dramatically increased air traffic, operates better every year!

    Oh I had a layover in Philly last October on our yearly trip to Florida! I got to go to this airport and it was GINORMOUS,and just like the Orlando Airport, it was sooooooo surreal! Took a photo in front of the LEGO Liberty Bell too haha. Great tour, and I definitely hope to go back there sometime. Have a great day!

      Philly is expansive, and it can take a bit of time to get from one side to the other.
      The LEGO Liberty Bell is one of my favorite features! Definitely reminds you where you are!

      Great! Flying into and out of the same terminal is a huge blessing in Philly. Terminal F is its own little airport, with lots of great food options, seating, and good views of the airfield!

    Just used PHL for the first time when I took the family (five of us) on a trip to see relatives in Lancaster, flew on Southwest. It is a very huge airport. I was impressed by the hotel (Marriott I believe) that is basically part of the airport itself.

    Went to and from this airport between buffalo in feb,landed in terminal C,didnt really look around since I was on a delayed flight and someone was waiting to pick me up. But on my return I was there for about 4 hours it was a sunday and not very busy so had lots of time to explore. Returning flight was terminal B. Really nice airport. Thanks for this vid I did not even know about E or F

      balto4 E, and especially F are fairly inconspicuous :) i usually rate an airport by how long I'd be willing to lay over there, and you can do a lot worse than PHL!

    • @bloopnation
      @bloopnation 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To overnight park, longer than 24 hours.

    • @MilesByFoot
      @MilesByFoot  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can basically park three places; the terminal garage, the on-site surface lot, or an off-site economy lot. There are three terminal garages, and you'll use the last one for Terminal F. The garage is the most convenient, but the most expensive; the 24-hour rate is $24. The surface lot is fairly close to Terminal F. Instead of following the path for the garages, follow the signs for departure drop-offs. Move past the terminals and then hook a right at the American hangar. A day on the surface lot is much cheaper, $11.
      There are several places off-site that offer daily rates less than $11, around $8 a day. These will require a shuttle, which run frequently.
      Usually, when I park at an airport, I'll park in the surface lot to avoid third-party lots. Personally, I don't like to rely on a shuttle. At PHL, the on-site economy parking is walking distance from your terminal, about a half-mile from the terminal, so unless you're in a screaming hurry or prefer a shorter walking distance, I'd recommend the economy lot.

      One of my favorite parts about visiting airports is listening to the folks who work there, most of whom are from local, working-class families. You get to hear about their lives and the way they speak!

    • @MilesByFoot
