Oh Bradders. Hearing you speak you sounded so deflated from WSB. But we thought that regardless you did amazing with what you had and Rosalie is so super proud of you! She still hasn't quite grasped that you are back to BSB so I am sure you will see a very excited super fan at Oulton in May! ❤️ Thanks Off The Track... What an insight into the workings of Worlds. We are semi biased on our favorite videos 😂 Hoping your on the left hand side of the garage at Brands .. that's the winning garage. Same one you had in 2022 when you won and Kyle had it this year 😂😂. #team28 #teambrad
Your observations regarding money and sponsership and where are the younger riders coming from is spot on. My nephew - Joey lambden #3 has been competing in Bemsee for the past few seasons, this year finishing 2nd in the MRO 600 series. He has the talent to move up the ladder, but the next step is BSB sortsbike series. This would cost a minimum of 30K for a season, way beyond our financial capablility as a family run, out of the back of a transit concern. In the current financial climate its only going to be more of a struggle and sponsors are rarer than hens teeth.
Thanks David, and sorry to read that Joey is struggling to raise sponsorship. There are more and more riders bailing out of the sport in the current financial climate and it's not good for the near future either. Sponsorship is so difficult, even for the podcast that's relatively cheap in comparison is still at a standstill. Tough times.
Enjoyed that. Shows the electronics are an absolute minefield. One seriously talented rider is Brad, 1st time i watched him was a one off ride on the rs 125 in the British championship, he just fucked off an left everyone... Mega talent.
As a mad bike fan for 50 years I’ve witnessed lots of bikes and riders ? From watching Ron Hallam in transit Atlantic races . Which should be re introduced in my opinion ? Please make it happen . Brad you are a diamond 💎 of a rider . Please may you achieve all your goals . I have a triumph now and there’s far too much electronics on for me ? I sympathises with you . Hope you get the right set up in 2025 . See you there
The Transatlantic challenge at Donington park in the 80s when Ron Haslam had been dropped by Honda so he rode a road bike and did spectacularly well. My mate was racing in a different class so we had tickets all weekend, I had driven over from Germany with a car full of beer and I found Ron in the paddock and gave him a bottle of Dortmunder, Nice fellow. Was a great series same as the Yamaha 350LC Pro/Am challenge. Good old days
Can't wait to see Brad back with OMG, shame it didn't work in WSB but without the dreaded money it's almost impossible to get a decent ride. Go for Shakeys record Brad, thanks Dave for another great podcast
why he sounding so deflated like hes about to cry.. cheer up man jeeze you got the mad experience on the world scene riding with the best riders .now surely..he can back and smoke all of them in BSB with the experience and knowledge
Great interview great to see Brad back feel so soffit him but it’s a Bsb gain for everyone to have this fantastic rider back on our shores it will liven it up for sure can’t wait to see Brad again I wish him all the best for 25 but I feel sorry for him having to come back when I know the pinnacle for him is WSB but great for us come on Brad you can do the big 7 take care mate best wishes
Such a shame Brad didn't get a real shot at the WSBK series. I do think the BSB series is now stronger than when he left it, but no doubting, he, Kyle and Joe will be strong contenders. Just to say to Brad, I'm only around the corner near Lenham, so if he ever fancies a quick cuppa if out and about in the North Downs, pop in :)
I agree with Kyle and Brad being strong contenders but I suspect Joe will just be looking for points and consistent finishes next season - it’s a massive learning curve as Max, Storm and Charlie have found out
5 mins into this interview & you can clearly see how all the shite electronics have ruined the motorcycling racing spectacle...l was chatting to Troy Corsa at Goodwood a few years back & he quoted 'All it does is make a average rider very good & a talented rider look average'... Exactly what Mr Ray has spent two WSB seasons finding out. Your riding talent is unfortunately dictated by the geek with the laptop in the pit garage😮.
Would it ever be possible for BSB technical rules to become more in line with or similar to WSBK? Surely if it was similar more British & Irish riders could make that transition smoother. 🤷🏼♂️
A lot of it is down to costs, specifically electronics as a top level data engineer is big bucks. And the fact there aren’t too many about and the ones that are are gainfully employed in factory teams in WorldSBK and MotoGP.
awww, really nice to watch, obviously a great friendship between you, and he's looking strong and focused, gonna be a heck of a season next year...best season ever?
Fascinating to hear from Brad how it's been for the last two years. Thanks for all your effort you have put in behind the mic.really enjoyed the day racing videos too.its a shame there,s not much money going back to the riders in BSB.there a plenty of people watching on a Sunday but the glory days of the 70s when riders were paid start money are long gone.the Obsession Engineering video on the cost of running a team was eye-watering!I know you will be aware of the costs.
I cannot understand why Yamaha gives an opportunity to a great young rider and not even give the lad a half decent bike to be competitive? You could see Brad was riding the bloody wheels off the bike. Like you say, the results just does not reflect the time and effort put into those two seasons. Would Brad not fancied a ride in Moto2? I guess there were no opportunities there as well? I guess it just shows how things are tied up politically and financially in the GP/ Superbike world. Best of luck Brad in 2025, I’m pretty sure you will show a few of the lads the way round !!
Dorna looks like it’s involved in behind the scenes finding rides for ex moto gp riders maybe to give the series better exposure but you lose up and coming riders from the national series anyway good luck to all that try and good luck to Brad ray👍
Great to see Brad again, Dave but I must say he did look a bit deflated the beginning of the conversation but by the end it got that smile back on his face which was great to see
Cheers Off Track great questions good honest answers and how different are those WSB bikes seems that the only similarity is they both have two wheels ,coping with so many adjustment possibilities at each corner is mind blowing how do you get your head around that at speed , What a season to come with Brad back on the OMG Yamaha, a great schedule coming up with more awesome guests just what we need through these winter months luv it 😉👍
So incredibly complex these days. Technology and data analysis has progressed so much that it’s almost impossible for a great rider to be up the front on a not quite there package. Kind of depressing 😖
What a brilliant interview Dave as ever 😎👍 Brad looks and sounds so more mature than he was in 22 😉👌 Can’t wait for the new BSB season should be epic Keep these coming mate absolutely classs
If there isn’t any crazy rule changes with tyres etc. Brad will be hard to deal with for the others next year. There isn’t any mugs in the paddock should be another great season. Down at the bike show on the Sunday see if paths cross👍
Can I ask, please Is it possible to check the mike position before starting an interview to check that normal swallowing sounds and the drinking gulping and swallowing noises aren’t picked up quite so loudly. It could well be just a “me” thing that other people don’t notice, but I think it’s one of those things that once you DO notice it you can’t hear anything BUT squelching spit and gulping noises right the way through the interview (and with headphones it’s in stereo woohoo 😂🤣🙈🥴🤢. I hope i haven’t offended in bringing it up. If it’s any consolation it’s something I’ve noticed a lot of podcasters battle with at one time or another. Ok I’ll run and hide now before the abuse starts getting hurled at me for daring to bring it up! 🤣😂🤣👍🏻
No problem, Smurf, I’m not offended by constructive comments politely put so thank you 😊 I try hard to make the audio the best it can be but some things are beyond my control. In a professional environment both audio channels would be downloaded individually and noise gates added etc For a sound engineer it’s a piece of cake, to a podcast just who literally does everything it’s extra hours onto an already busy schedule. I’ll do what I can and pay more attention going forward as I can appreciate that once you hear it you can’t unhear it 😳 I appreciate your message and thanks for watching 🙌🏻
@ my comment is a very very minor point your podcasts are absolutely top notch to be fair! Like I said it’s probably more a “me” thing, (there’s probably a name for it, there seems to be a label for everything these days!😂) . I appreciate that it’s extra hard to produce an interview when the interviewee is long distance so you don’t really gather the opportunity to set things up quite how you’d ideally like maybe. Like I said all of your interviews are real top drawer stuff. From the caliber of interviewee to the content and flow of the interview, I’m yet to come across one I haven’t enjoyed. Keep ‘em coming that’s what I say and I hope my previous observation hasn’t offended you. It was an observation and not a criticism. Thanks for all your hard work creating the podcast. Take care & stay safe, Kathy x
@smurfmonster Kathy, it’s genuinely no problem at all. I’m more than happy for anyone to offer constructive comments and if I can work on them then I will 🙂 We do all we can to bring the best of our guests to you and I’m glad to read that you’re enjoying what we do. It’s a lot of work, a lot of hours and occasional frustration but it’s always really nice to know that we’re doing it right, so thank you 🙏🏼
How many more British riders are going to be sucked into WSBK and spat back out without having been given a fair chance? It seems like all the organisers are interested in is the money they bring, no interest in them actually succeeding. It's becoming a waste of everyone's time and the UK audience are losing interest. Their loss is BSB's gain with world class riders like Brad in the championship.
There are a lot of variables in the move to WorldSBK, as Roger Burnett explains well in a couple of weeks. Everything has to be right - manufacturer, team, staff, everything has to be spot on or just like in Brad’s case it really won’t work. Taz is in a good place that the Honda team and HRC like him, towards the end I feel Brad wasn’t afforded that luxury despite the issues he had to overcome
Can’t make any apologies for that, we take what we can get. If we had enough/any sponsorship then I’d have happily have flown to Andorra. I appreciate it’s not quite the same but it’s better than no show at all. I can recommend the audio version as then you can’t really tell 😉

Exited to see Brad back, he explained the bsb & web differences brilliantly, as a layman it seems unfathomable, great show, see you on sunday .
Thanks so much, Ian 🫡 glad you enjoyed the explanation as it’s important to get that across 😊 we’re looking forward to seeing you Sunday 🙌🏻
Hope he grows his hair like it used to be I always thought he looked cool as cool. lol. Will be good to see him back
Great to see Brad back in BSB, but it’s such a pity his WSBK dream was prematurely ended (for now)
Agreed on both counts, Neil
Great interview great to see Brad back feel so soffit him but it’s a Bsb gain for everyone to have this fantastic rider back on our shores it will liven it up for sure can’t wait to see Brad again I wish him all the best for 25 but I feel sorry for him having to come back when I know the pinnacle for him is WSB but great for us come on Brad you can do the big 7 take care mate best wishes

Great to see Brad back, DORNA stronghold really doesn’t do our British boys any good, sad 🏁

Ryde will get that championship again his bike looked like it would do whatever he wanted it to do last year
Big statement 😁 he’s certainly in primes position but Tommy, Glenn, Brad and Rory to name but four will be working hard to stop it
Great to see Brad again, Dave but I must say he did look a bit deflated the beginning of the conversation but by the end it got that smile back on his face which was great to see
Thanks Nick, really appreciate that. Yeah, it wasn’t an easy discussion early on but needed to be had 🙏🏼

Thanks for your kind words, really appreciated 🫡
Did Brad mean Vickers when he said guys go to wsbk with money that he doesn’t respect or expect??
Think he said expect.
There loss our gain Brad…great interview thanks
Bring back prize money!

A new Brad more mature. Going to be a fantastic 2025. Good luck.
Bro sounds like a broken man. He's gonna miss world's no doubt but bsb is a helluva championship it won't be easy, just look at Skinner.
