    Thank you B'Sue and Javi!💗🤗 This is a wonderful video! I have always been afraid to try resin, but you have inspired me! I love that cork paper and the mermaid sand. And yes....I did a bloop. Made a big mistake as a Responsible Repurposer and I resined that stamp. It had value, I should not have done that, and even though I know jewelry not stamps, should have taken my own advice and looked up first. I was wrong not to do that. I'm sure that's where the thumbs down are coming from...Oh well, at least they watched the video I guess. I just found out about the stamp. Someone said it had a value of 40.00 to over a couple hundred. THERE YOU GO! Just exactly the same reason why I tell people not to tear stuff down before they know what they have. I apologize for this error, I'm the responsible girl and I wasn't this time. I thought because it wasn't in great shape and was cancelled didn't matter. WRONG. SO sorry if I offended anyone.

    This was so interesting,i have avoided resin(luv my Diamond Glaze) but,i am now motivated to try it asap,i appreciate you de-mystifying the process. Have a great weekend ladies. Thankyou & Cheers!

      Thank you, Helen. DIamond Glaze won't quite cut it for something like this, you need resin. But as you can see it's so easy. If you can bake a cake, you can mix up some resin.

    Thank you for taking the time to make this. It is great. I wonder if it would also work on paper napkins? I use them frequently in my designs, but they are so delicate and the resin may firm them up.

    Tbh I think UV resin is easier to begin with bc it cures quick under a nail lamp. If you mess up with epoxy it takes 24 to 48 hrs to figure it out, with UV resin you can spend an afternoon getting the hang of it. I hated resin until I tried UV resin, bc the learning curve is less steep.

    • @bsueboutiques
      @bsueboutiques  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vi, there is no doubt about it, UV is instant-grat and less trouble. And, if you are using just a little bit, it's quick and easy. But if you want to pour deep, the cost of it will break you up. I can get dozens of bezels done with a small kit of two-part as opposed to MAYBE 3-5 with a decent-sized bottle of UV. Also with UV there are tricks to curing it, too. As far as figuring out how to cure a bad two part pour, did you know you can use a product called Gel du Soleil and sunlight, and fix it QUICK? It's a UV resin too but a little diff. You can cure a bad two part pour with UV, too. If you get a bad bubble in a two part pour, something that might not happen with UV, and it cures like that, you can drill it out and fix it---with more two-part or with UV. TIme is involved with two part, as you have to learn to cure it properly. It's not at all a big learning curve, it's just another trick in a good maker's bag of jewelry techniques. IMHO having made jewelry for over 30 years and messed around with resin just as long, I would never have eliminated learning how to use two-part, as part of my journey....same as I wouldn't have eliminated learning to solder or use the jeweler's saw. Admittedly, I am not bad at using resin. At soldering and the saw, well, let's just say you won't get videos from me on those techniques. Too clumsy. But I can do it! And everyone should learn, at some point.

    • @vimerveilles
      @vimerveilles 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right, and I've ysedboth but I just found UV to be the easiest to learn. It doesnt get good deep pours, that's right for sure

    Try using wax or parchment paper instead of a garbage bag. The resin will peel off easier.

    • @bsueboutiques
      @bsueboutiques  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I could definitely do that but really it’s no trouble to do it this way. I took a two day class w Susan Lenart Kazmer and that is how I learned. The first time a long time ago. But your ideas give two other options so now there are three ideas. :-). I know the bag works. The other two should but haven’t tried. I’ve had resin stick to waxed paper before though. Maybe it depends on the brand?

    • @AuroraDragonDesigns
      @AuroraDragonDesigns ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bsueboutiques I have had the best results using a silicone sheet. Nothing sticks to that 😂. However, they are much more expensive than the previous options. I have also used thicker plastic, for example: large plastic envelopes or plastic file folders.

    New to your channel and I really enjoy watching you. This project intrigued me and I have a question.. can any brand of resin be used to do this... and would this technique work with Rice Paper which is a little thicker than tissue paper. I mainly use Art Resin ( which is a 2 part resin) and I’m hoping that brand will work. 👏👏🦋

      Well I use two part resin from ICE RESIN kit. We have some at our website here: www.bsueboutiques.com/ICERESIN-2-part-Resin-for-jewelry-making-p/iceresin.htm
