Precious E22 is actually better off than E21 as E22 is already into learning life skills for survival where as E21 is getting his food handed to him on a silver platter and doesn’t have to work for it. E22 is learning how to conserve his energy, defensive modes & stances, snatch & grab, and self feeding early on. We can’t just look at the negative, but look at all E22 is learning! Go get ‘em E22! Eventually E22 and E21 will be best of sibling friends. ♥️ I’m so praying for this family! M15 is an awesome Dad! He’s learning also. You're not being silly crying, I need to cry about other things; I don't know if it's my adult Abserger 's, and grieving over my parents from sometime ago, when I was not allowed to fully embrace the grieving process. Other times, I was said it's just a bald eagle, but I have followed this nest and moderated chat since Season 1. I am not going to attempt to spell the word, but we often times give human qualities to wildlife. Harriet, however was more than just a bald eagle and the Matriach of the family; she taught us human skills such as fidelity, devotion and caring.

E22 is a hunter. He wants to find his own food. Most eagles his age still want mama or dad to feed them. He often will go for the fish not waiting on dad to snag a bite. I admire his spirit. ❤️🐣💪
Thank God, our prayers have been answered. His sense of survival has kicked in. I think our E22 has decided internally that he's going to survive and wants to live. He must be tired of being the scapegoat for his other sibling. He's going to carry on his mom's legacy. M15 is going to be pleased his youngest eaglet is a fighter.

Watergirl I agree with you that Harriet is not coming back. It breaks my heart to say this, but I have watched other eagle cams and follow the Wildlife Center of Virginia (moderated chat, critter cam, hospital cam monthly) etc.. My suspicion is that Harriet had an altercation with another eagle, perhaps female. I have never seen so many intruder's at this nest since I started watching with Season 1.
In the absence of mum, I sincerely want these two eaglets to thrive and fledge for M15’s sake. He has stepped up beautifully for his family despite his broken heart. Power and grace to you, M15 ❤ please come home Harriet, you are so very much loved and missed ❤❤❤

The parallels this season and last season as far as the eaglets go are so similar! The dynamics as to how similar E22 and E20 were as they’re both learning to evade their bigger sibling and super lightning fast reflexes of grabbing quick bites of food, skittish, nervous at any movement would submit. Until the lil guy 20 figured it all out and won E19’s ❤ They became so close by the time they fledged. ❤ 🙏🏻 for the same this year with these lil guys.

Good day Lady Hawk, can't say what will happen without Harriette but still praying she will come back, this taking care of 2 little ones is getting too much for M15 plus hunting for food, I hope you all will intervene if things don't go well !!!! But till then prayers and more prayers sent !!!!!
It hurts my heart to see how aggressive E21 is to E22. I'm going to call her "she." Every time food comes, she runs over to E22 and cruelly beaks him and it pains me to see him cowering and crying. Today was a difficult day to watch. It was good to see the attempts at self-feeding the past couple of days and E22 able to grab a few bites from a parent from time to time. I kow it's just instinct but I wish E22 would learn to scoot around the other side sometimes to escape the veaking and still get his share of food.
Oh he will trust me. He’s doing the same stuff E20 did last year with E19. If you followed last year, the siblings are almost identical. E19 treated E20 the same way until E20 learned and did exactly what you said. He would sit on the other side. I’m confident 22 will do much the same!
Cowering and crying are human interpretations of eagle behavior. These are predators. In order to live together they developed signals so they don't get hurt. Submissive behavior carries no human shame with it. All species do some form of signaling that they are harmless. Dogs lick their lips and look to the side or at the ground. They're saying they are harmless, don't hurt me.
@@gregthegroove I know it's only normal behavior because of their strong survival instinct but it's still hard to watch sometimes :( I'm just a plebe and it's hard not to anthropomorphize.
It is such a blessing that M15 is faithfully taking care of the E's and wistfully looking for his Harriet. They are growing and developing nicely. Thank you Lady Hawk keeping us informed. 💕 Hoping for Harriet's return.
Harriet knew what she was doing when she chose her next mate after Ozzie. I so hope she is alive and will be found and rehabbed but I am 62...hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
No matter how Harriet's story ends and it's been quite the story 22 is my focus. I feel everyday 22 will grow bolder and fight for its take and will make it with the Heroic efforts of Daddy M, He's just been amazing to watch
You show everyone Lady Hawk that although it's a hard life to be kept from the food like 22 is this will help it after fledgling. This baby will already have the skill of stealth and stealing which helps 1st yr juvies in particular survive that 1st year. Stealing is a skill used frequently in adults. I see both babies are starting to stand up on their toes - a bit wobbly! Earlier today I saw the CO panning the camera over towards the river. Aren't there fish in the 'yonder' pond as well as the river where M might get food rather than flying a distance?

E22 is a survivor! I have noticed the past few days that he/she has been trying to self-feed. It seems like the younger eaglets (because of the bonking) always seem to develop their survivor skills sooner than the older eaglet. I went online after the feeding and saw how tired and stressed that M15 was. He is frantically looking for his Harriet. He is such an amazing Dad! I pray everyday for Harriet, M15, and both E's. I pray GOD is looking over and protecting Harriet, keeping her safe until she is found and rescued. I cannot imagine what happened to her. It looks like she would have been found by now. It has already been 5 days now.🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️ @Lady Hawk, do you have any idea what happened to Cam 3? Do you think they turned it off? I can't pull it up after this morning. I was just watching them sleep & M was on branch above sleeping with head tucked in. It was nice to see him sleep on nest those first few nights. He must be exhausted & is being Mum & Dad now, doing a great job of feeding & protecting his family in sudden turn of events. Well done to E22, self feeding, I even saw him steal a small bone from E21 yesterday. Heartbreaking to think these Es could be the last of Harriet & Ms line, they have the best genetics & I pray they will live to fledge. I think E21 is Female & E22 is Male. Watergirl I agree with you that Harriet is not coming back. It breaks my heart to say this, but I have watched other eagle cams and follow the Wildlife Center of Virginia (moderated chat, critter cam, hospital cam monthly) etc.. My suspicion is that Harriet had an altercation with another eagle, perhaps female. I have never seen so many intruder's at this nest since I started watching with Season 1.
It is so encouraging to see the eaglets feeding themselves. They will need that skill to grow and survive.
In the absence of mum, I sincerely want these two eaglets to thrive and fledge for M15’s sake. He has stepped up beautifully for his family despite his broken heart. Power and grace to you, M15 ❤ please come home Harriet, you are so very much loved and missed ❤❤❤

Her first self-feeding attempt was on Saturday (2.04.2023) from a whopper-fish🐟 She gripped a half-fish with her talons and got several bites, successfully... it was the most difficult day for all......😢

Орлы очень быстро учатся и приспосабливаются к ситуации.. на данный момент М15 способен выкормить и поднять Орлят... они молодцы - Е22 и Е21😊 быстро растут и учат все жизненно-необходимые навыки😍 М15 превосходный охотник и защитник гнезда.. еда есть, и в изобилии.. а летающие вверху другие Орлы (нарушители спокойствия) - ну, они всегда были в этих местах.. М15 защитит и своих Орлят, и себя...
Все-таки верим в лучшее... пусть даже и чудесным способом, но хорошее... ждем Гарриет домой...🙏🙏🙏
It's horrible that Harriet is missing. Been watching these two for about 5 years now. Keep hoping she returns. If she doesn't, I wonder if M15 will still use this nest if he finds a new mate?
Praying ✝️ for M to be able to feed and protect his precious 💕 Es.. And praying ✝️ for Harriet to find her way home or be found and rescued. This is the only way we can help.

The parallels this season and last season as far as the eaglets go are so similar! The dynamics as to how similar E22 and E20 were as they’re both learning to evade their bigger sibling and super lightning fast reflexes of grabbing quick bites of food, skittish, nervous at any movement would submit. Until the lil guy 20 figured it all out and won E19’s ❤ They became so close by the time they fledged. ❤ 🙏🏻 for the same this year with these lil guys.

Good day Lady Hawk, can't say what will happen without Harriette but still praying she will come back, this taking care of 2 little ones is getting too much for M15 plus hunting for food, I hope you all will intervene if things don't go well !!!! But till then prayers and more prayers sent !!!!!
It hurts my heart to see how aggressive E21 is to E22. I'm going to call her "she." Every time food comes, she runs over to E22 and cruelly beaks him and it pains me to see him cowering and crying. Today was a difficult day to watch. It was good to see the attempts at self-feeding the past couple of days and E22 able to grab a few bites from a parent from time to time. I kow it's just instinct but I wish E22 would learn to scoot around the other side sometimes to escape the veaking and still get his share of food.

Oh he will trust me. He’s doing the same stuff E20 did last year with E19. If you followed last year, the siblings are almost identical. E19 treated E20 the same way until E20 learned and did exactly what you said. He would sit on the other side. I’m confident 22 will do much the same!
Cowering and crying are human interpretations of eagle behavior. These are predators. In order to live together they developed signals so they don't get hurt. Submissive behavior carries no human shame with it. All species do some form of signaling that they are harmless. Dogs lick their lips and look to the side or at the ground. They're saying they are harmless, don't hurt me.

It is such a blessing that M15 is faithfully taking care of the E's and wistfully looking for his Harriet. They are growing and developing nicely.

Harriet knew what she was doing when she chose her next mate after Ozzie. I so hope she is alive and will be found and rehabbed but I am 62...hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
No matter how Harriet's story ends and it's been quite the story 22 is my focus. I feel everyday 22 will grow bolder and fight for its take and will make it with the Heroic efforts of Daddy M, He's just been amazing to watch

You show everyone Lady Hawk that although it's a hard life to be kept from the food like 22 is this will help it after fledgling. This baby will already have the skill of stealth and stealing which helps 1st yr juvies in particular survive that 1st year. Stealing is a skill used frequently in adults.

I see both babies are starting to stand up on their toes - a bit wobbly! Earlier today I saw the CO panning the camera over towards the river. Aren't there fish in the 'yonder' pond as well as the river where M might get food rather than flying a distance?
Way to go sweet E22! You inherited your Mom's strength and Dad is doing a superior job taking care of you and making sure you have enough food. The love at this nest is surrounded by all of us.

E22 is a survivor! I have noticed the past few days that he/she has been trying to self-feed. It seems like the younger eaglets (because of the bonking) always seem to develop their survivor skills sooner than the older eaglet. I went online after the feeding and saw how tired and stressed that M15 was. He is frantically looking for his Harriet. He is such an amazing Dad! I pray everyday for Harriet, M15, and both E's. I pray GOD is looking over and protecting Harriet, keeping her safe until she is found and rescued. I cannot imagine what happened to her. It looks like she would have been found by now. It has already been 5 days now.🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️

I was just watching them sleep & M was on branch above sleeping with head tucked in. It was nice to see him sleep on nest those first few nights. He must be exhausted & is being Mum & Dad now, doing a great job of feeding & protecting his family in sudden turn of events.
Well done to E22, self feeding, I even saw him steal a small bone from E21 yesterday. Heartbreaking to think these Es could be the last of Harriet & Ms line, they have the best genetics & I pray they will live to fledge. I think E21 is Female & E22 is Male. So sad but hopeful for their future with great Dad.
