Thanks for the video. I love, love, love my Teton Mesa 14. Ours didn't have any of that bad-looking stitching. You are so right that having the tension pole centered is crucial. I'm 65, and my husband is 86. That second side pole is a doozy, but we make it. The tent is so roomy and comfortable.
I learned that their is a lazy way to do the second pole. Instead of putting on the little silver prong, you can just put it over the tent stake itself. It does the same thing and it's a ton easier putting up.
For the awning Stake out the lines first , loosely. Then add the poles. That right there will give you enough tension for the poles to stand up by them selves and tighten the lines. That's how you do them by your self easily
I have one. It was only seasoned in a light rain before it poured the next day. It's tight as a drum in the rain. Water beads up and rolls off; it doesn't sink into the fabric at all. The only water that got in after heavy rain was through the back window that we hadn't closed.
Sorry I just saw this, im the guy in the video. It does great in the rain, just remember to really season it first. It's Texas so its 100+ everyday now so I set it up in the yard and just sprayed it down really really good and then let it dry. Repeat that process 3 or 4 times and you'll be good to go. 😁
Is the cotton canvas good in this still? Still working well and what’s your cleaning and maintenance, packing up after rain or no rain? I want to get the sierra 16’
My buddy and I both got one summer out of our Tetons. He bought another one and I bought a Springbar. 500 bucks for a tent that lasted 6 camping trips is not acceptable IMO.

Update
Within one day Teton support has shipped me out a replacement footprint. So I once again highly recommend them as a brand to support.
This was really helpful, thanks. How's it hold up in the rain, do you know?

Did they not honor the warranty?
Would love to hear more about your experience.
His rotted through and mine started leaking. My Springbar has been great. You get what you pay for.
