Software Developers don't want users to easily reset their trial peroids, and this is as basic as it gets. As for the registry entry way they can disguise an installed value in many places such inside system keys or you unlikely to ever regnoise and find or even delete it. Many don't even need to use the registry, such as a hidden 1kb file somewhere unobvious on your C: Drive, and more clever trial peroids may use the combination of both for extra security.
Not to mention, this is useless for software that requires internet connection and chances are that someone's wanting to crack a program or service used online.
Do you know of any way around this; how about System Restore, or something similar, which reverts everything on a computer, other than certain saved files of course (maybe in a designated safe folder), back to before the trial software in question was installed? What do you think?
