One note to make is that the TDXSP 2 is a centre wheel drive , also going up the curves in the straight position is the best for the castors

Hi Steve, the castor arm independently move up and down, so when attempting a slightly higher drop curb I can get up much easier somewhat like a car which puts less pressure on the motors.
If you watch the scooter video of the Breeze I get up a 5.5 inch curb the same way. If I had tried that head on it would have no chance of getting up the curb.
You just have to know the chairs limits and people should do what they are comfortable doing. 👍

I have this chair and would say it’s vital to follow the manufacturers instructions on driving and using any setting prior to use. In general you should only ever approx a kerb at 90 degrees ie face on and you mustn’t ever drive in the fully elevated position. This is a safety precaution as the user could be thrown off the chair at a greater height causing very serious injuries. That aside it’s a great chair. Improvements would include a reduction of the overall weight of the chair. This can cause issues with being over the maximum threshold for some lifts such as platform lifts when you take into account of the users weight even for an average adult it can mean the load is over the limit.
I find the weight distribution is better on a mid wheel bass such as this one compared with previous 4 wheeled models such as the Invacare Spectra.

High Ten, many thanks for commenting, and everything you have said is correct, but personally I go up kerbs at a diagonally as with a midwheel with a smallish front castor can just get stuck against the kerb where diagonally i can push one wheel over whilst keeping the other 5 on the ground.
In the videos we like to try and show what the chair is capable of.
The 8mph is heavy as it has the bigger batteries than the narrow base version. As for driving the chair in the raised position, it is fine in a supermarket environment as its so smooth, its all about understanding the terrain you are on. :)

@@southernmobilityservices I have the NB version and it’s weight is 140kg/ 22 stone without me in it making it much heavier than its predecessors. A 64kg/10 stone adult would take it beyond a 200kg maximum weight.
Having been a full time wheelchair user for 20 years I think I’m fairly able to understand different terrain!

Do you have any reviews of the Aviva yet and will you review the Q200r?

      Hi Lorraine,
We are going to do the Aviva as soon as the lock down is over. As for the Q200 probably unlikely as we tend to stock the Quantum & Invacare ranges of chairs.

POOR ride quality per video. Invacare has made modest :looks" changes to the TDX SP from 2009-2021, so five years of clickity-clack brakes, rubber tires coming off the rims, and sub-par quality.

Hi William, i agree the TDX needs an update in the suspension department, but they did make some good changes to the electronics with the Links system, so when it comes to programming & diagnostics the system is excellent. I cant say i had any solid tyres coming off though.
