      You should do a video on least reliable gasoline truck engines, the 5.4 3 valve Triton from Ford should be pretty high on the list followed by the 2007-2010 GM LS V8s with active fuel management, have had bad experience with both, that's why I drive older cars with simple V8 engine that have 2 valves per cylinder and can withstand 110+mph driving for extended periods of time

    KAMAZ 740 used in all KAMAZ trucks since 1970-s, it has many modifications: naturally aspirated, single turbo and twin-turbo, and it's output varies from 210 hp up to 440hp, and torque 667Nm up to 2000+ Nm. It is one of the greatest engines made in USSR

    • @flyingdutchman4794
      @flyingdutchman4794 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The USSR made many excellent powerplants; they were engineered to work reliably in the Russian winters - and summers.
      An old Soviet joke, told to me by an old ex-Soviet, stated that the average temperature in Moscow was quite liveable at 0° C - because it was -45° in winter and +45° in summer

    • @Tom-Lahaye
      @Tom-Lahaye 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      These Scania V8 engines sound fantastic, many truck owners here fit open exhausts to enhance the sound.
      Although not completely open due to the particle filter that has to be kept in place on modern models, but many oldies from the 1970s and 80s are kept running, you have to look up for Scania 143 V8 on YT, then you will find videos even sounding better than the modern ones in this video.

    Just for completeness' sake: hydrotreated (or hydrogenated) vegetable oil (HVO) is a synthetic, paraffinic diesel fuel and a drop-down replacement for regular diesel.
    In contrast to biodiesel or straight run vegetable oils, it can be used in any diesel engine without modification.
    It canbe produced to be arctic grade and burns much cleaner with less smoke emissions for the same power settings.

    ChTZ V58 engine is similar to V46 & V92 tank engines, and has a 150mm bore and 180/186,7mm stroke of master/slave rods. This engine is less boosted to enlarge its mileage and lower fuel consumption while tank ones has more boost to increase power output(tank doesnt need fuel economy or long engine mileage or low emission, it needs mobility on battlefield, or you can count it already destroyed, and its green-power-greta-tunberg-five-star engine is destroyed too). This family of engines has one common ancestor, the V2 WWII tank engine, and all of them have same displacement and bore/stroke, differences are in more beefy crankshafts, rods, and pistons for higher boost pressure level. Of course, fuel system and camshafts differs too. How about a tank engine video?

    Yes, well worth the wait. I saw some recovered engines from boat/aircraft from the first Atlantic crossings from Irelands river Shannon. Big old rotary engines with many valves per cylinder and other advanced tech. Maybe a dig online could find some info for us to see.
