I can say this with full confidence.. I long for the day when my sin is gone completely and I can serve the Lord with complete devotion. That’s a longing in my heart that doesn’t fade even when I’m sinning. I also can’t imagine my life without Jesus in it. It grieves me to even think such a thing. Oh Lord help my unbelief.

[11] But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. [12] For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? [13] But them that are without God judgeth. This man mentioned a bunch of works. We’re saved by faith. All these points he made have absolutely nothing to do with “knowing” we are saved. The only way we know we are saved is that we TRUST that Jesus died and rose again for our sins
@@deitert07 Yes but the point is is that someone can just say that and not truly mean it in their heart. That's why these are signs of a true believer. It's not that the action is saving us, it's that our actions are reflections of our faith in Jesus.
@@deitert07 i know several people who say those words but have no love for God., dont attend church, theres no fruit, they dont desire his word or his people, they dont understand what it means to be born again, they constantly curse and take the Lords name in vain, they care more about the things of the world than the things of God, etc etc etc ..hmmm are they "saved?" I dont believe so.
Actually, that has to do with obedience. Phil. 2: 12Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. But what keeps us close is God's Divine life. Because Heb.12 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Phil.1 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
@RStark-ek7mh , no one knows but God. That's why Jesus said Mark 16: 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Why? Because; Rom. 1 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, Who believes. Eph. 1 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Whose pleasure, God's pleasure. Who accepted, God accepted through Christ. John 17: 2 as You (GOD) have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

Todd, John & Voddie are all ministers who teach and preach the Gospel of Christ. All of them are safe to listen to. They are all true teachers. God bless all three of them!
I don’t always feel saved and I don’t produce the amount of fruit I know I can if I just did this and not that but I remember who I used to be before Christ. I thank my God everyday for his mercy and patience.
I hear this. I think no matter what I did I would accuse myself. It's only comparing to the old me I feel confident. Thank you Jesus for changing me!! Be patient with me please.
"I am not yet what I will be, but not what I once was" Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14
I had received salvation April 19, 2020.. I was on fire for the Lord and in the Word and praying and fasting. From that very next day He changed me. My brain my heart He changed. Then in May 2023 I fell into temptation of going out and I drank and I did things. There is a humongous difference with sin after receiving salvation, The Holy Spirit convicts me during my sin. So.... I have no pleasure in drinking whenever I do actually drink. Before receiving salvation during my sins I enjoyed the sin and didn't feel bad.. we only sin against God. And it's a horrible feeling. I know I don't lose my salvation, but I yearn to hear Him say my good and faithful servant..... And the crowns I want to earn to lay at his feet... I keep picking myself up and running the race.. I just want to be a good friend to my Savior and I haven't been. I owe Him everything... I will never be able to repay Him for what He paid for.. the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE that no one is ever to repay.
One sign of spiritual growth is conviction of sin. For a long time I was sorry for falling short, but kept going back. Now, just the thought sickens me because I think of the consequences, I'm tired of feeling guilty, having confidence is saying NO to sin, and obeying the Word. We have victory in Christ, we need to value that the most.
Please pray for those who are weak in the faith. I went through false conversion and it was after leaving, fleeing from an NAR church and a pentecostal denominational church were I was physically and emotional abused. Being deceived is painful, but more painful to have sinned against the Creator of earth and heaven. My encouragement is to sincerely call on the name of the Lord Jesus being sincere in prayer and confess to the Lord that you need His help. God, be merciful unto me a sinner. -Luke 18:13. 28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.-Matthew 11:28-29. May the peace of God that surpasses our own understanding be with you as we examine ourselves in the light of Scripture. We need to read Scripture daily. May that be our encouragement, as the Word says : -Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’”
I understand some of your pain. I was deceived by a NAR Church because friends that evangelised me when I was an unbeliever went to that church. God still understands that your heart was in the right place and that you were seeking him. That's why he led you out of the NAR so that you can get saved.

No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 Faith goes hand in hand with trust. "There is no fear in love." Fear is lack of trust.

You see, exactly THIS was the problem of all my fears, panic attacks, anxiety, and so on. Things like that. 15 marks... 12 marks.. 10 points.. 9 points.. TO KNOW FOR SURE that you are saved. Let's say that i meet only 7-8-9-10 of them. What about the other ones?? Do i have to meet ALL of them to be 100% sure that i am His child? And i also believe this is the fear of many believers. "I just can't find myself in all of the marks."
Exactly. No one can ever measure up. Videos like this make salvation dependent on us rather than Christ. I thank God that Jesus made the gospel so simple a child can understand it.
@@lw6138 He is discussing assurance. If you assurance is based on "incurvatus in se" looking inside yourself, then you are fooling yourself. You either have to minimize God's law to meet your standards or elevate your own righteousness. God demands perfect obedience - to love him with all your heart, soul, and mind. Todd Friel mentioned nothing about Christ righteousness. He mentioned nothing about the perfect obedience of Christ imputed in you. Nothing about continuing to trust the gospel by faith alone. Nothing about the means of grace (baptism and Lord Supper) which are symbols that God has given us to uplift and strengthen our faith. Very little about the promise of Christ that He will never let you perish. It's all about you and your righteousness.
ONLY through Jesus are we saved and not by works lest any man boast. But once we receive the free gift of eternal life in Christ we now live for him and not ourselves. Our priorities shift to those things above. Etc. But those things don’t get you saved. It’s just what fruit will produce from a genuine convert. Ephesians 2:8-10

I sought this years ago. I was confronted with my view of church. Church has been a source of distress for me. I was often hurt by people in church. I went from a toxic family to a series of churches that weren't emotionally safe to me. I had expectations of feeling things that didn't come. Church felt adversarial. I enjoyed the messages, but shaking hands during the peace only made it obvious that I was awkward and felt apart. So I addressed it to God and while everything didn't improve drastically, I was able to see that my trauma was more the problem than the people in front of me. It was a Wretched video that convicted me. Thank you, Todd.
@@jedimasterham2 We want to think that, but it isn't true. The emotionally charged moment that we ask Jesus into our heart, as Americans say, isn't necessarily binding. We must show fruits. We must show repentance and our lives must reveal progressive sanctification. The fruits don't contribute to salvation, but they reveal it. Remember the parable of the seeds. Many seeds sprouted to some degree, but only the seeds that fell on fertile ground grew roots and sprouted healthily. There are many false starts in human spirituality. The acceptance of the conversion of the thief on the cross reveal God's grace in a specific situation. Those of us on the ground must show growth and maturity. And we should reflect upon ourselves; not ever becoming complacent in our pursuit of God. It's a RELATIONSHIP.
@@lw6138 "We must show fruits." With respect, your expectation of other people has no bearing on their salvation. It's an attempt to play God, and it needs to stop. Scripture does not say works are required for salvation, nor required to remain salved. When you make salvation and works interrelated like this, you create a doctrine of works-salvation which is unbiblical. Scripture directed us to engage in works, and we are rewarded according to our works in heaven. So even the most carnal believer will still go to heaven, because salvation is a free gift of God given to anyone who chooses to trust in Jesus.

@@lilacfairy. What does the Bible say? Referring to the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, "Whoever believes in Me shall have rivers of living water bubbling up inside of him." The contrapositive of that statement is, "If a person does not have rivers of living water, neither do they believe in Jesus." Remember, Jesus said only a few 'Christians' will make it. You must be born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, or you are not saved. I am sharing in all love and respect. It is difficult for me to warn people like this, but time is short. Those who do not know Christ won't make it. Jesus died on a Cross so that we may know Him. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
One thing about the thief on the cross was that he actually believed who Jesus said He was. That thief knew he deserved to die, but he knew Jesus did not deserve the death he was given. That was the difference with the thief, and Jesus told him that he would be in His Kingdom because he actually knew he had met God in the flesh. I believe if the thief had another chance to live, he would live his life completely different after having a heart changed. Everyone quotes that scripture believing they can do as they please and have no consequences for their actions. The other thief did not have a heart change. This is what must happen. We must turn from our sinful ways. How many today are in the same situation at that thief, been crucified? Let's compare our lives to Jesus and walk with Him, imitating Him in all our ways until He brings us home. Shalom
Remember, salvation is to have 'rivers of living water bubbling up inside.' If a person is not in the presence of the Holy Spirit, they are not saved. It is not a question of us judging our salvation, but does the Holy Spirit bear witness that you are a child of God (Romans 8.16)? We are not the judge! It must be a friendship with God. We must be aware of His presence. Salvation is knowing Christ. He died on a Cross so that we may be in fellowship with Him. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
You started off with the best way to know you're saved. The thief on the cross. He knew and confessed he was guilty. He knew and recognized Christ was sinless. He confessed Jesus as Lord when he rebuked the other thief and when he asked Jesus to remember him when He came into His glory. So. 1. Know that you are guilty of the sins you commit and recognize your need for a savior. 2. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord. 3. Ask Jesus to save you. God knew this was going to be a thing. He gave you the example of the thief on the cross. The thief on the cross died within hours of his confession and did no physical act on this earth after receiving the assurance of salvation. He was saved because he believed. Jesus Christ, when He was lifted up, drew ALL MANKIND to Himself. Every single one. Not "this vessel or that vessel". The wedding invitations when out to every single being made in the image of God. We respond to that calling by faith or we do not. No tulips needed. Be blessed.
This. I came here to say this. The only “marker” of someone being saved is them confessing their belief in the finished redemptive work of Jesus on the cross. We don’t add to it nor are the required to DO anything apart from believe. Glad I found this comment; hope remains for The Gospel
@@OccupationalNOlifes- Confession with your mouth that Jesus is Lord of all coupled with belief that God has raised Christ from the dead, ( then the promise is: you will be saved! Roman's 10:9-10. 334 a.m. up for the Brazilians time with anxiety fearing and trembling for my salvation that I already know I have, that I don't deserve, that was given to me before I was even me. Which is out of my control, but somehow still is in my control by the grace of God... I'm sorry, were you reading my mind when you made this episode sir?? Wow. Praise the Lord God almighty!
I long for Jesus to save me. I doubt my salvation all the time but I believe Jesus will get me there in spite of myself. I trust Him and I don't know how He will save me and How He will get me there but the bible says He is faithful and true. When I look at my life I see how unfaithful I am but How faithful He is and still I doubt. One day, because of Him I will never doubt and I will see Him and I there are no words in all the human languages of this world that can describe Him as He truly is. Praise be to Jesus because I am a sinner set free and I am holding on to that mustard seed of faith.
The Bible says that you can KNOW that you are saved. You don’t have to wonder about it or wait until you die to find out if it took. 1 John 5:9-13 NKJV If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. [10] He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. [11] And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. [12] He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. [13] These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
Please don't doubt. Doubt is a roadblock to trusting GOD. One day, while doubting myself, I thought "well....I'm only doubting MYSELF ..Im not doubt GOD"...but the truth is...when we doubt ourselves we are doubting GOD. Completely trust in GOD and the doubt will go away GOD bless

Romans 12:2 ❤ And do not be conformed to this world, 👉but be transformed by the renewing of your mind👈, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. The Word of God by the Holy Spirit transforms our mind. Now Study 1 Corinthians ch.2....only those in the family of God love it, understand it & apply it. We can not tell folks we love God & not love His Word (John 1:1-14)....our Faith is built by it! (Ro. 10:17).....it is the basis of our understanding of God. Stay in God's Word dear one! ❤
You aren’t alone. Spend time with the people if God and listening to the Word of you find it hard to read. (Remember most of the early Christians couldn’t read, so they listened to the Word, mostly on Sundays. Liturgies and songs helped them to memorize it.) Whatever you spend the most time with will be your greatest influence.
@melodysledgister2468 I'm trying to find some of those of GOD, but it is truly hard to find someone. There are lots of kids at my school, but those who profess to be true Christians either don't show it, or they aren't at all. I can just tell. Here's the thing: I can't find anyone else there like me, but if I do, they're lost. In other words, I'm starting to think that if I want friends who are of Christ, I'm going to have to talk to them about him first
@@thedaltoid0266 I am an old man & I find fewer & fewer folks who love God & His Word. Our most important relationship is with Christ. Until we are satisfied in Him, we will not find contentment in any other relationship. Stay in the Word. If you have problems reading it, then listen to it! 😉 I encourage you to focus on the Gospels & New Testament for now. Being young, Proverbs (OT) will give you wisdom. im curious about the unassembled bicycle on the wall. i would like to guess the reason is that its an example that parallels the idea that creation isn't here bcs of the big bang and macro evolution. all the pieces dont just assemble together by accident. it took a creative mind to make the parts and to put them together to make it.
I think there's one more to add to the list, and that is, whether you respond with love and genuine contrition, anger and defensiveness, or simply not addressing it, when you're confronted with your own sin.
This is a good one I struggle with 1 sin in particular and while I long to be free of it it just wont go away I would tear it out of me and burn if if I could I dont want to sin against the one who died for me but I have no self control either or not enough love for Him which depresses me even further
It's not unheard of being told that Christians should be confident of salvation, if not something is wrong. The thing is there is the confidence in myself and then there is the confidence in Jesus. "being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6 It can see a person through some dark times when everything seems to be against you even yourself.
Referring to the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, "Whoever believes in Me shall have rivers of living water bubbling up inside of him." If a person does not have that, if they are not filled with the Holy Spirit, they are not saved. If you are not certain of your salvation, something is wrong. Do you know Christ? Are you in His presence? Are you seated in the heavenlies with Christ? If you do not know the Lord, you are not saved. To receive total assurance, simply believe the promises of God. For example, how can you not be sure you are saved if you are 'seated in the heavenlies with Christ'? If you are in fellowship with God, then you do not worry if you will be in fellowship with God in heaven. Christ died on a Cross so that we may know Him. It is just a sin-hardened heart that avoids fellowship - and the confidence of salvation - in the Lord. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
You are right-it’s confidence in Christ-not myself or my own behavior. Often we see a dramatic, positive change when we come to Christ, but not always. This should not be the litmus test. The litmus test is, Who am I trusting, not what. When I look to myself I am always disappointed. If I look and start to feel proud, uh-oh. Yes, it’s great to see progress. To God be the glory! But I would encourage you to not to spend too much time looking inside yourself. Look up instead. Focus on Jesus-the lover of our souls-and our blessed future with Him! Remember what He did for you. ”He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?“ Romans 8:32
@@melodysledgister2468 In all love and respect, it sounds as though you are still in the dark. That is, do you know that you are saved? How? Please be careful how you hear these words of Jesus as your eternity depends upon it! Referring to the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, "Whoever believes in Me shall have rivers of living water bubbling up inside of him." Does that describe your walk with the Lord? Are you seated in the heavenlies with Him? Are you trusting that you are 'doing things right' or does the Holy Spirit bear witness that you are a child of God (Romans 8.16)? For example, are you your own judge, declaring yourself 'saved,' or do you know God and He bears witness that you are saved? Jesus taught that if you do not know Him, if you do not have rivers of living water, then you are not saved. You can say that you are 'looking to Jesus,' but, unless you obey Him, it means nothing. Christ died on a Cross so that we may know Him. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
Number 2 is a little dangerous, just in my opinion. Absolute surrender to God and knowing I am powerless is the most important thing. “Lack of power is my dilemma.” Not lack of knowledge, lack of intellect, lack of therapy, lack of prescription medications, etc. Lack of power. That’s why I need a power outside of myself. My intellectual pursuits take me further away from God, not closer to Him. Study His word. Of course. Just beware of the dangers that come with “intellectual knowledge,” as Todd says. I do like this guy a lot. Calls out a lot of misdirected stuff going on in many churches desperate reach for worldly relevance. Thanks for this podcast.
This video really convicted me. It made me ask myself some serious questions. While I do believe I'm saved, I also think I've really let the routine of life get in the way of my walk of faith. I do "check some of those boxes," sure, but my true desire is that I not just try to check boxes. I want to chase after God's own heart, and I feel like I've really been failing at that big time.
I've been looking through the Bible and praying for discernment that I now know the day when Jesus is coming for the resurrection. I see the day approaching and I'm extremely confident based on scripture, I'm correct.
These videos just push me to giving up. I’ve wanted to feel and experience these things for so long but never can seem to hold on. I’ve been “saved”, “regenerated” or “on fire” so many times I’ve lost count. Then it just fades. I guess I’m the shallow soil. Not chosen. And if I dwell on it, it makes me resent God for even creating me. Im basically a good person as far as societal standards but I look back and see I’ve probably been a tempter of others more than a tool for God. Or maybe that’s my purpose until I finally get thrown in whatever pit is waiting.
Okay. I was an atheist until 15 yo. I don't remember hlw, but within few months, sudde ly, i bought a Bible, i started to watch, read more abd more content abt the christian faith and Jesus. After few months of that, i repented for the first and GENUINLY the 6th Ocotber 2023, after an argument with my father, that idk why, ked me to suddenly feel a real desperation to live for God and God with me. But now, since about 2 months, im wirse than ever. I pray less abd less, read the Bible less and less, i start to sin again, i go back to the usual sins i had for YEARS but had GIVEN UP THEM fir the Lord. Every day, i just don't THINK about God. Every day i'm sinking. Now i see this, and seem to know that i am not saved. Now what ?
Friend! Who are you trusting to save you-you or Christ? Turn once again to Jesus, your Savior. Throw yourself on His mercy. Trust Him to overcome. He took your sins on Himself. They are gone as far as He is concerned. 1 John 1:9 says, ”If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.“ 1 John 1:9. Take Him at His word, my friend.
1 John 5:13 KJV - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. If you believe what that verse says, then you can be assured that you are saved. Believing in Jesus = believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
I don't know if I'm saved either. I don't think I really love God if I'm being honest. I really just fear Him. I worry about hell, and eternity everyday. They say to love God is to keep His commandments, and I don't do that. I really don't feel love for anyone or anything, not even myself. The older I get the more confused and angry I become. I've prayed and felt nothing, just emptiness.

Once you believe the gospel then you are His child forever! My advice is stop listening to Calvinist channels and find a grace community that will encourage you in renewing your mind in the knowledge of Christ and everything He has given you! (Hint check out my fav) blessings!🙏✝️
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. May the Lord bless you! Do you know the story of the Israelites in the wilderness? They could have entered the Promised Land, but they did not believe the promises of God. That is why they all died in the desert. The same holds true for the Christian today. God has given us promises that most Christians either ignore or are unaware of. For example, if you are not certain about your faith, what does the Bible say? According to the Bible, you can enter the 'Promised Land' of absolute assurance of your salvation. For example, referring to the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, "Whoever believes in Me shall have rivers of living water bubbling up inside." As believers, we should be 'seated in the heavenlies' with Christ. Salvation is a relationship. It is being friends with Christ. How does anyone make friends? For me, my first prayer was, "Is there Jesus? I would like to meet Him!" When I met Christ, all heaven filled my soul and it felt like my heart was made out of gold. I am in continuous fellowship with Christ. Receiving the Holy Spirit is the easiest thing to do! Jesus said, "My Father will give the Holy Spirit to whoever asks of Him." Yet, make sure that you believe in the promises of God or you shall not enter in. Boldly claim the promises of God as King David did, saying, "Lord, remember your promise..." You could make that same prayer, "Lord, remember your promise, that the Father will give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks, that they will be filled with rivers of living water, the Holy Spirit bearing witness with my spirit that I am a child of God (Romans 8.16)." Jesus died on a Cross, not so that we might live in doubt and insecurity. As it is written, we may 'boldly enter' before the throne of God, making our requests known - according to the promises of God. I hope this post is a blessing and a help to you. As with anyone, check everything you hear against the Bible. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
The only “sign” that proves someone is saved is if they believe the gospel, which is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. If you believe that Christ died for your sins and rose again on the third day you are immediately sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14). Repentance is a change of mind. (Jonah 3:10 KJV) Stop trusting in your own efforts to get you to heaven. You don’t have to stop sinning, join a church, “give your life to Jesus or “choose to follow Jesus” (Judas followed Jesus and never believed). If you Believe on Jesus you are saved (Acts 16:31). And 1 John 5:13 says you can know it.
So thankful right now .. encouraging to hear everyone bearing witness and giving testimony so thankful for The Spirit of God so thankful for His Living Word so thankful that He loves us so much He gave His only begotten Son so thankful for The selfless life Jesus lived as an example especially fulfilling God's will and being The blood and death sacrifice so thankful for The love of The Holy Ghost who's power resurrected Jesus to be ascended and given full authority and even now goes to the Father on our behalf Glory Blessings and Honor Lord Jesus Christ
Thank you for this. I often think about how I have to be the only one who struggles this embarrassingly with a certain sin. I hate it so much and feel so awful about it. I pray and repent and plead for help. I do ok for a while and then boom. Man, it's just annoying and scary and makes me long for the day there will be no more sin.
You are not the only one. And I don’t even have to know the specifics of your circumstances to know that. ”‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”“ Revelation 21:4
The best way to determine that you're saved is that you point to Christ's death on the cross as payment for your sins. These signs are useful in the process of evaluating sanctification, but fatal if your sanctification is a determining part of your salvation.
Let us not be fooled! We do not want to be one of those who will be turned away on that day when men stand before God. The way is narrow, and the road is straight, and FEW be that find it. Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Verse 22 MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Verse 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it. Our sin has set us all on the road to hell and no amount of good will fix the sin we have done. We have ALL sinned. It is not about the type of sin or how much sin. It is about the fact that we have sinned. For that reason we all need a Savior.
If we want forgiveness for our sin and peace with God. If we want to escape eternal hell. If we want to go to heaven we must understand the following. We DO NOT get saved (go to heaven), get right with God, forgiven, by being good, by being religious, by just believing in God, by praying a prayer, being baptized, asking or accepting Jesus into our hearts, accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour, confessing our sins, joining a church, cleaning up our lives, doing penance, taking the bread and the wine, or doing all these things accumulative. Salvation is a gift that is given to those who repent and come to faith. Eph. 2:8,9
Salvation takes repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Acts 20:21. testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Make no mistake. We cannot be a friend of Christ and remain a rebel against God and unless we repent we remain a rebel. The word repent, from the Greek word “metanoia”, means a change of mind or direction. God is not receiving those who almost or kind of repents. It is like the word About-face which is a 180 degree turn. We turn from not wanting God fully in our lives to willfully surrendering to Him to lead our lives.
When any person comes to the place where they are broken over their sin toward God to the point that they want to get right with God no matter what it will cost them they are in a state/spirit of repentance toward God. Luke 14:33 Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. The repentant heart would walk away from anything or any one to get right with God. We then take that willing repentant heart we have towards God and place it on the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Master, because He paid the price for our sin, and that becomes faith. At that moment God’s grace through Christ is freely applied to us and we are born again, saved from eternal hell and sealed by the Spirit so that we will never again return to the practice of sinning. 1John 3:9,10.
Our first command after salvation is to be baptized. Repentance of sin is the result of the new birth/salvation and will be part of the sanctification process and our new life with the Lord Jesus Christ, Eph 2:10. While we may sin from time to time after salvation it will never again be our practice 2Cor. 5:17, 1John 3:9,10.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
REV. 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. It all boils down to are we sorry/broken enough over our sins against God and do we want to get our hearts right with Him or not. Let us be sure that tomorrow does not belong to us.
But what if I struggle with the same sin over and over ? Mine is overeating. I've been addicted to sugar literally since I was 4 years old; and that was 50 years ago. I've changed for the better in so many ways; but I'm so ashamed and want to be free.
Thank you for this. It's frustrating interacting with believers who think they absolutely cannot tell whether someone is saved or not saved, as if the Bible has no information regarding this subject and we have to hide behind not being "judgmental." There are entire epistles dedicated to this subject (1 John).
I am at a dead end with finding a church in my area - I listen to John MacArthur, Steve Lawson, Paul Washer, Justin Peters, Voddie Baucham, Jeff Durbin, James White - no Expositional Preachers that I've found . I want to go to church and be actively involved. That's the one I struggle with - not lacking the desire but having the right doctrine and theology.
Because, when you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10: 9-10

Todd confuses me at times... I hear, "Accept (follow) Jesus and you will be saved." I then hear, "It's not enough to accept Jesus. There are a LOT of levels you must achieve before you are saved." I also hear, "Christianity isn't about works. It's about your faith in Jesus." I then hear, "You will not be saved if you dont meet certain standards, produced fruit, posses a love for God and Jesus beyond words." I'm a Christian. I follow the word of Jesus blindly, almost fanatically. I'm also human, and a sinner. I make bad choices at times (regrettably) and repent with a true heart. There are times that people make me mad and I have hate/anger in my heart. Likewise, I often catch myself "observing" women with a not-so-pure heart. I pray to Jesus for help and guidance, literally by the hour - sometimes many times an hour. I'm certain I haven't achieved the level of "divinity" that someone like Todd has, but I feel I'm working at it and making good progress. This is who I am. I'm working on being a better Christian, but currently, this is who I am. Maybe a couple of years from now, I'll be like Todd. Maybe I wont. Does this make me a second rate Christian? Does this make me unworthy and therefore, not welcome in the kingdom of Heaven? I'd like to think that Jesus sees my efforts and waves a hand of understanding over me, forgiving me of my sins and filling me with the holy spirit to try to do better. I'd like to think that just because Todd says you may not be going to heaven because of "X", I'd like to think that maybe Jesus has other ideas about that statement, ideas that are far more understanding and forgiving. I've learned a long time ago not to let a first-rate Christian make me feel like a second-rate Christian... and this is where I have trouble with Todd at times. I feel he often times makes people feel like second-rate Christians with videos like these that broadcast standards (works) one must achieve in order to be saved. How many people watching this, see the high level of standards Todd outlines, then realize they may never get there and give up because they feel futility in achieving those standards? I for one would feel better about these kinds of videos if they were qualified at the very end with a simple statement: Love Jesus with a pure heart. Do your best to follow in his footsteps. When you falter, repent with a pure heart and asked him for strength to do better. Have faith in Jesus and you WILL get there. To be clear: I like most of Todd's videos and will continue to watch him. But sometimes he puts out some real stinkers.
@AVB2I'm having a little trouble relating your comments back to my original point: which is we aren't earing our way into heaven. We are granted entry through Jesus Christ. Not really sure what your analogy of grade school is about, other than saying that we are continously learning. That much I agree with. But I hope you are also implying somewhere in that message (didn't see it) that not making it all the way to 12th grade doesn't preclude entry to heaven. If you only make it to the 2nd grade, your are still granted access. We should always strive for excellence, but some of us do come up short, so please dont treat me (used generically) like a second class Christian just because you made it to 12th grade and me only to 2nd. We're both equally valued in the eyes of the lord and both equally sinners. Your parable does illustrate my belief in Jesus: that he welcomes us aboard and that once we settle in, we are safe. My contention is with the video that implies we are anything but safe. It implies that even though Jesus died for our sins, our sins really arent forgiven and that we had better earn more merits if we want to get in. Maybe you saw something different in that video, but that's what I saw. Like I said at the end of my original comment: I like most of Todd's videos but this one is a real stinker.
My sound isn't working so I had to read the closed caption and it looked like you were using John Macarthur as the bad example. I hope not. I've had more growth in a very short time than the previous 30 years I spent in charismatic churches. I also listen to Paul Washer, Voddie Baucham, and you. But JM is my main YT go to. And yes - I now have solid assurance in the last points you made, mostly from listening to JM teach the Bible.
Some people twist it though to mean we are not saved. Taken that way, none of us are saved! If our salvation is based on anything other than the perfect work of Christ, I don’t see how any of us can be assured, unless we are delusional.
Sirs, what shall I do to be saved ? And they said, Believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house “ Act 16:30-31 The moment you believe, you are justified and sealed with the holy spirt and have eternal life . There is no fruit bearing necessary as evidence of salvation . These preachers are preaching false doctrine, a back loaded gospel of works salvation.
2 Timothy 2:19- Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”
I am a disabled veteran 100%- Vietnam. I am sick every morning with nausea and dizziness from two types of nerve damage plus Parkinson’s disease-causing secondary conditions; I cannot go to church. So, I live alone, and I'm married; she left me 7.5 months ago my wife of 35 years. Where are the Christians to help me bear the burden? None. I've been saved for 45 years. Where are the Christians? Incarcerated in the churches, stay put, my Christians.
You’re asking the wrong audience. God has already taken care of your burdens by sending Jesus to bear them. YOU YOURSELF must go to God and lay your burdens and life @ the feet of Jesus. It’s starts there, and your desires will be added to You. It all starts with God.
So where is trusting Jesus? Either He is the author and finisher of my faith or He is not. He is either faithful to His Word or He isn't. Are we looking for signs or are we looking to Him because He actually IS trustworthy? I keep having these moments of clarity that feel like I just got saved. Does this mean I wasn't saved before or is it the Holy Spirit deepening my understanding? I wish Peter. Paul, and John were here so they could tell us what salvation and sanctification looks and feels like.
A small bone of contention with Todd regarding Jacob and Esau's "repentance". If you aren't *both* remorseful for what you've done wrong AND committed to turning away from that BECAUSE it's wrong, and not just because you got caught or feel bad about making someone sad or whatever, that aint repentance. Maybe regret, maybe remorse. Not repentance. Scripture, at least as translated into English, clearly states to repent and turn away from yours sins/wickedness, etc. I.e. if you repent, according to scripture, and call upon Jesus, you will be saved. I think Todd, in this example, has an overly broad application of what repentance is. Sort of unlike him. He's usually spot on.
@@mabellchurnoopay That's why I called it a "small" bone of contention. I'm not sure you can have true horizontal repentance of sin. That means it isn't being directed by the Holy Spirit so much as it is you "cleaning up your act". Todd did in fact later mention *effective* vertical repentance. My small bone was not really considering horizontal only "repentance" as actual, effective, repentance. Again, a small bone. Perhaps it was a bit nit picky. Was not not my intention at all, though.
I feel the same way! I get frustrated at myself when I sin, longing for the day I won’t ever do it again!
1 Corinthians 5:9-13 KJV
[9] I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: [10] yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 KJV

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, [10] nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
The fear of the Lord keeps us close to Him with love and glad obedience and away from sin.

1 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes,
Who believes.

I'll wait
Todd, John & Voddie are all ministers who teach and preach the Gospel of Christ. All of them are safe to listen to. They are all true teachers. God bless all three of them!
I don’t always feel saved and I don’t produce the amount of fruit I know I can if I just did this and not that but I remember who I used to be before Christ. I thank my God everyday for his mercy and patience.
I hear this. I think no matter what I did I would accuse myself. It's only comparing to the old me I feel confident. Thank you Jesus for changing me!! Be patient with me please.
We should never feel saved. Jesus justifies the ungodly.
"I am not yet what I will be, but not what I once was"
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14
If you trusted in (only) Jesus as savior, you are saved.
It’s that easy. No works prove one is saved.
@@jedimasterham2 AMEN!! However James wrote that works are necessary to SHOW faith. Gotta prove a changed heart somehow.
I hear you. I have done and still do struggle

Faith goes hand in hand with trust. "There is no fear in love." Fear is lack of trust.
Obedience to God and love for other believers and God. These are the two most important.
Those don’t prove one is saved. If you trusted in (only) Jesus as savior, you are saved.

Another stellar teaching from Todd Friel!
Dear Lord - How I love this man! God bless you, Todd, and your loved ones.
Gladly we dont have to look for something in ourselves to be saved. But always should look at the finished work of Jesus
He's discussing FRUIT. We are to have fruit. That's absolutely Biblical.

Wish i could have a 1 on 1 conversation about this with this guy.
To refute him? (Honest question)
God bless you, may the Lord help you and He be glorified in you ❤
If you trusted in (only) Jesus as savior, you are saved.
It’s that easy.
@@lw6138 "We must show fruits."
With respect, your expectation of other people has no bearing on their salvation.
@@lw6138 where it the Bible does it say you "must" show fruits? Here is a list of scriptures that SPECIFICALLY say salvation requires ONLY belief.

John 5:24
John 6:35-40
John 10:27-31

”Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified.“
II Corinthians 13:5
Amen! His Spirit is telling me this for the Churches
Examine yourselves to see if you are walking in the faith not do you have the faith that saves.
Are you filled with the Holy Spirit? Do you have 'rivers of living water bubbling up' inside of you? If not, then you fail the test and are not saved.
@kenshiloh3349 thats for your own judgements on yourself not anybodys. You examine yourself if you're in the Faith.
Wanting to read your bible and watch shows like this.
Shalom
Tell me how the thief “turned” from his sins. I’ll wait….
Todd, thank you so much for the encouragement, both to growth, and for assurance. This blessed me!!

I'm sorry, were you reading my mind when you made this episode sir?? Wow.
Praise the Lord God almighty!
I love his delivery! God Bless!
Very contradictory comment.
The Bible says that you can KNOW that you are saved. You don’t have to wonder about it or wait until you die to find out if it took.
1 John 5:9-13 NKJV
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.
Completely trust in GOD and the doubt will go away

Thank you for this very important teaching. Very good.
This was good. It was uplifting. Now it has to digested and executed. Yet knowing that we will not be perfect in this earthly journey but believing in One who is.
I love wretch , he's a great host, teacher and preacher👍😇
I find myself hurting without reading the word, but I find it absolutely hard to do so. I'm a child in my spiritual self, and I am a teen in my physical life. I have the desire to do things bout and end up not doing it. I was saved when I was 7 or 8. I didn't grow up then. I'm often confused about certain things. Every time I leave Church I get sad, like truly sad. I am easily influenced by other things. I try not to listen, but it's terribly hard
Romans 12:2 ❤
And do not be conformed to this world, 👉but be transformed by the renewing of your mind👈, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
We must be transformed..our minds are renewed through His Word, by the Spirit(See Rom.12:2)
We need fellowship, but we must remember that God did not save us for ourselves, but From our SELF & from His Wrath, for His Glory, Purpose & Plan.
Psalms may help you to gain understanding as well & teach you how to pray.
I always tell young believers & new believers to start in John. Maybe read it over again. The Word builds our faith.(Ro.10:17)
👉The Word is the foundation of our Faith & all we can know in this life about God. He speaks to us through His Word.
We speak to God through praise & prayer, but we can not do those things effectively without His Word!...The Word teaches us how to pray & what to pray for, as well as how not to pray!
The Word teaches us that God saved us to serve. It is impossible to serve God without serving His people, so it is important to find a good Church.
If we are in the Word, praising God & praying to God, serving our brethren & being edified by them, it will produce confession of our faith & that is the reason God saved us...to share the Gospel.
I am confident that God will give you friends that love Him & His Word, as well as every other thing you need to follow & serve Him...👉if 👈 you continue to pursue His ways, rather than your own ....(See Proverbs 3:5-6

@@Goldtaker23 Bless you for your struggle So many don't struggle against their sin, or even admit it.
This was excellent.
Everything this guy does is worthwhile
It's not unheard of being told that Christians should be confident of salvation, if not something is wrong. The thing is there is the confidence in myself and then there is the confidence in Jesus.
"being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
It can see a person through some dark times when everything seems to be against you even yourself.
”He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?“
Romans 8:32
Excellent video!! Thanks Todd!!
So helpful. You have no idea how much.
Working out that salvation with fear and trembling. Philip 2:12
Yes , working OUT that salvation, and not working FOR that salvation. Big difference you hit the key word correctly.
Helpful + truth = convicting & encouraging.
Pray for this world
This video really convicted me.
I understand. Been there. Still trying to dig out.
I'm glad I found this video. I think I'll actually take some notes for future reference.
I don’t know if I’m truly saved, I would love to know. Things have gotten better I feel closer to God but ..I continue to pray for more faith

@@ButcherBobI encourage you to look up puritan Thomas Hooker on the Doctrine of Conversion. It will help you with all of the confusion.
Thanks, Todd.
I'll pass it on.

There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”“
Revelation 21:4
Here’s how to know if you’re saved:
If you trusted in (only) Jesus as savior, you are saved.
It’s that easy.
John 10:28
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
The best way to determine that you're saved is that you point to Christ's death on the cross as payment for your sins. These signs are useful in the process of evaluating sanctification, but fatal if your sanctification is a determining part of your salvation.
Read 1 John 2:3
@@James5877read 1john3:23
Amen. Very well articulated and I hope people read this comment.
If you’re worried; pray. If you pray, don’t worry.

1 John was written to refute heresies and encourage the believers that they were indeed saved.

I would recommend listening to @OnoDiamante and @BibleLine they teach the clear gospel.
I suggest that you check out Jesse Martinez, Tom Cacuzza and Ono Diamante.
Good morning, much love and respect!! Truly in GODS WILL
Thank you,
Roman's 12 v1,2
Thanks brother
BTW... I LOVE THE BIKE WALL DECOR....
What must I do to be saved? Believe in the lord Jesus Christ. The simplicity of Christ.
Believe and repent(turn from your sins) because of the mercy he extended to us on the cross because even the demons believe
Because, when you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10: 9-10
@@Dark12315If you have to turn from all your sins to be saved, can you say you are saved if you sin after you've put your faith in Christ?
@@Dark12315 Wrong definition of repent
How many of us have really repented of our sins?

One of the best posts I’ve ever seen on the question…Are you a Christian?
Todd confuses me at times...
I hear, "Accept (follow) Jesus and you will be saved."
I then hear, "It's not enough to accept Jesus. There are a LOT of levels you must achieve before you are saved."
I also hear, "Christianity isn't about works. It's about your faith in Jesus."
I then hear, "You will not be saved if you dont meet certain standards, produced fruit, posses a love for God and Jesus beyond words."
I'm a Christian.
@@engineerauthorpilot I'll make this short: I agree with you----your original post and this reply. Good job and God bless you!
@philmason7860 I LOVE this. Such a profound statement to make.
All this empowered in the Holy Spirit being poured out into us, being born again having a new nature .
Well done, well said. Thank you.
The book of 1 John talks about assurance of salvation a lot. You should read it 😊
Some people twist it though to mean we are not saved. Taken that way, none of us are saved! If our salvation is based on anything other than the perfect work of Christ, I don’t see how any of us can be assured, unless we are delusional.
I love the bike on the wall!😻
Spot on...
Sirs, what shall I do to be saved ? And they said, Believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house “ Act 16:30-31
The moment you believe, you are justified and sealed with the holy spirt and have eternal life .
Love the bike parts on the wall.
Actually, it's the entire bike in parts.
Needed this...
Thank you.
I am so sorry and thank you for your service to our country.
Humility is a heart of service towards God and fellow man.
Todd, I think your description is lacking. I did like the video in the whole.
