He does! Eloquent speaker. Lovely man too. Recent went to MAS BOX showcase at Kidderminster College, UK. He didn't participate in the show, that was Kevin Gammond baby! But Robert was sat just behind us!! And it was awesome. Afterwards, we went to the Beer Emporium and spoke across the table. A gentle voice, but a Monster on the Mic.
There was no replacing of anyone in Led Zeppelin. Deep Purple could do it and Black Sabbath to a lesser degree, but Zeppelin was too much of a musical family.

Her parents were visiting the UK and they went for a drive to the country. They were walking around and this long-haired fellow was walking along a fence line toward them and said hello to them. He asked them if they would like to come to his place to have some tea. Turns out it was Robert Plant and they had no idea who he was. Apparently he was a very kind host.
Check out one of their first interviews in America. I believe the year was 1970 ,& as a matter of fact, it was the day after Jimi Hendrix died, at one point one of the dumbass interviewers asks Jimmy Page a question about the Beatles which, although Page tried to answer honestly, it did come out kinda wrong. Robert recognized right away the situation & interjected & paid the Beatles a great compliment. He is, in addition to being greatly talented musically, a very, very intelligent man. Was actually set to become an accountant if music didn't work out believe it or not! Such gifts.

He comes across as a total gentlemen and wise beyond his years, but then there's that impish smile...and you know he's up to no good, having a pint or two with Bonzo, banging groupies, and just doing crazy stuff in Chateau Marmont. Man, the crazy stories this guy could tell and yet...he's a true troubadour in the old sense of the word, looking for new ways of singing, traveling everywhere, looking for inspiration....
I can agree with you to an extent. I don't know why, but Robert during the 90s, particularly during the Plant/Page era was an egomaniac. The sparkle in his eyes that we see in this interview here was gone during the interviews in the 90s. He also talked trash about Jonesy and was most definitely jealous of the Page/Coverdale collaboration which took place around the late 80s-early 90s. Very unfortunate, I must say. I think he has definitely mellowed out a bit since the 90s though.

Really speaks to the impact of Bonzo's death a few years later...as it meant it was no longer the four of them.
