One of my Mother's favourite songs. She was 4yrs old when this was Written in 1916, but like many songs of it's day & onwards it was/ is loved by many like myself, because of the beautiful lyrics & melody.
@@mylesgarcia4625 ok, and I'm just saying that she probably already knows that but I guess you where quite right to say so just in case someone else happened to think so, sorry if I was a bit rude🙂
I was just watching Charmed on Netflix and watching Pardon My Past. I heard this song on the show. Never heard of it other than on that episode. I looked it up on Google to see if it was a real song. Google sent me to youtube and had me open this video up. Love the song now. Sorry I never heard it as a child.
I knew the song already but just saw that episode today and rediscovered it 😁😁 in the episode at that time period the song shouldnt have even been out yet 😂😂
kathleen chambers You had to Google it? Oh, Kathleen, you have no idea how old you just made me feel👵🏻. This was one of the great singalong songs of my long-ago youth and childhood, sung by the grownups at every wedding or Christmas party when they’d all had a bit too much to drink!🥳🍻🍷 Though I have to admit, it’s a much more romantic sounding tune when Dean sings it!🤵🏽🎵
Lyrics; "If You Were The Only Girl In The World" 'If you were the only girl in the world And I were the only boy Nothing else would matter in the world today We would go on lovin' in the same old way A Garden of Eden just made for two With nothing to mar our joy I would say such wonderful things to you There would be such wonderful things to do If you were the only girl in the world And I were the only boy I would say such wonderful things to you There would be such wonderful things to do If you were the only girl in the world And I were the only boy'
One of my favourite songs, sung by one of my favourite singers; ought to be good! On this showing, he simply hadn't the vocal range to sing it; sing it well that is!
this was our first dance after we got married in 1962. Still my favourite song after all these years.
Brian Millar what a beautiful comment!
This was my parents, first dance at their wedding. January 1965. ❤❤
When I was a boy, my father would sing this while doing the dishes. A great song, sung by a great crooner!

I came from Downton Abbey ✅
No; the song existed before DOWNTON ABBEY. It actually was a hit song around 1916; when phonographs were first coming out.
@@mylesgarcia4625 lady nextdoors meant she is listening to this because she heard it in downton abbey
@@Stitchntwist I understand BUT I Am also giving her the correct fact so that she doesn't realize that it originated with DA.

@@maxtafel-selman7994 the orginal song came out in 1916 actually! So its historically accurate for the episode.

Lyrics;
"If You Were The Only Girl In The World"
'If you were the only girl in the world
And I were the only boy
Nothing else would matter in the world today
We would go on lovin' in the same old way
A Garden of Eden just made for two
With nothing to mar our joy
I would say such wonderful things to you
There would be such wonderful things to do
If you were the only girl in the world
And I were the only boy
I would say such wonderful things to you
There would be such wonderful things to do
If you were the only girl in the world
And I were the only boy'

Wtf is with the Asian girl at the beginning?
I hope sing this song in my future marriage
what does it says in the minute 1:04 to 1:24?????
A garden of Eden just made for two, with nothing to mar our joy.
Still a better love story than twilight!!
If you were the only pizza in the world I would eat you 🙂
