Thing is if we all start watching shows like this more or buying things to support we are further enabling this type of show if we like this we should be vocal.
How they did that scene without breaking down I will never know , It was Golden , I am lost for words ,except you have to be in love or a romantic to recognise the true meaning of love.
I especially enjoyed Maggy Smith's performance in this short spot. She is such an actress in her mimics. And Mary's mimics are also so convincing to show how she loves Matthew. This is a really beautiful and touching seen and song.
Although the British empire has come and gone, television remains one of those things the british still do best. Better than anything the Americans can concoct.
Downton Abbey is a reminder of what great television can actually become providing that there exist actors, actresses and writers who have talent. How gravely unfortunate that for the past 25 years, we Americans have not been able to witness such performances on what presently passes for TV.
It makes me cry every time I hear it. Michelle Dockery is such a talented actress, her voice, mimics all gorgeous. Her and Matthew is just so natural together, perfect, tangible chemistry. Gosh, Maggie Smith is a jewel. Love them.❤
So I just finished season 3. It was ending the last chapter and he was still alive so I thought you guys had made a joke here, but then the car scene started and I realized what was about to happen... Really sad! :(
@Akhil Gupta, it wasn’t actually the director’s fault. Matthew and the rest of the cast signed a contract for 3 years and they could carry on or not after that. The actor/ actress of Matthew and Sybil decided they could do more and left. Yes, I didn’t like how quickly Matthew’s death was and yes, I didn’t like how either of them died. This is what I’ve heard so… :)
This is my favourite scene in all from downton abbey!!!Every time I see it I cry I can't help myself especially when I remember what happened in season 3 to Sybil and Matthew and of course to William in the next episode!!I think that is a scene that shows us many things as love support and need of hapiness in our lives!!!They totally nailed it!!!Congratulations to everyone!!!They were all lovely in this scene especially my M/M!!!!!!
Okay DA has convinced me that this song will be the first dance song at my future wedding.... Heck! I'll have a wedding just to waltz to this song... Love this so much
OH MY ! I LOVE THESE OLD NOSTALGIC SONGS AND TIMES. I WAS A TODDLER, AND THESE SONGS WERE POPULAR IN MY HOME, WITH BRO'S AND SISTERS ALL GROWN UP, I LOVE THOSE YRS..
Lady Violet's face on her son singing along :'D And anyone realised that Mrs Hughes nearly cried during the first part and was especially NOT looking over to Mr Carson?
Never seen this show. Don't know who the characters are. But the skills of the actors and film makers are so good this still moved me to tears. Well done.
When I have seen it for the first time i was like OMG! Such a wonderfull scene! Downton is simply one of my favourite tv series. And this song with Mary's voice is a fairytale.
The way Hugh is sat there as Lord Grantham, the look in his eyes as he seems to be thinking back to better times made that scene for me. Almost singing to himself while he remembered fonder times.
This was also sung, famously, in the entertainment night event in the Bridge on the River Kwai - one of the greatest movies ever made and perhaps David Lean's best direction
Oh sheer nostalgia. I haved watched downton abbey continuously for 5 times that when i see anything about downton abbey it feels like i lived here once and now i don't 16-3-2021 2:29 pm
I was re-watching the last christmas episode where Bates comes back from Ireland and reminiscing the past few years with Downton when I thought of the similarity to this scene. Oh Downton, thank you for giving me an infinity within the numbered days. ;)
U broken my heart 💔where are u now? This song u sent it to me l love it so much but now it's so hard to hear it . I don't need it in my recommended because I'm done
Yes, IMO the best seasons of DA were S1 and S2. M/M, Tom/Sybil, and Bates/Anna were the couples that drove so much viewers attention back in the day. Unfortunately now in S5 the show is only a shell of its former self :-(.
Okay, I'm not usually a romantic person. But I've never shipped a fictional couple more than Mary & Matthew Crawley.
You mean apart from John Bates and Anna Smith?
Matthew's entrance never fails to give me goosebumps
Me too! That's exactly what I want to say~ Thanks, Beth~
"Well now I've seen everything." :D
Love her... Just love her
She'll still looking around in shock in the end 😂
The way Branson looks at Sybil...*swoon*, then Matthew and Mary...*died*
Arlette Perez
So much love in Mary’s eyes, and smile.
"I would say such wonderful things to you..." Gets me every time. He's got a really nice voice.
I cried out of happiness the part where Mathew came in :')
+Lulu Rasheed Me too. I think that makes us both soft as shite ;)
+Robert Tudor Haha yes! Gosh I miss Downton Abbey so much 😞
I think we all did it
Thing is if we all start watching shows like this more or buying things to support we are further enabling this type of show if we like this we should be vocal.

Surely the best scene from Downton Abbey!! I just love this song!!!
Which episode is this again?
Evie Herriot Season two, episode five I think
Evie Herriot Harini Iyengar it's actually episode 4 :)

You Americans have short attention span in general.
My dad used to sing this song to me. When I saw this scene on Downton Abby, it made me cry. Still does in fact. Thanks for sharing.
The best season in the entire show
The best scene of the show, truly beautiful and how they both look at each others 🥹🥹🥹
The way she looks at him, though :(
1:25 astounded… I fucking love her in this scene 💕she passes that feeling on just by looking at her face 😂
It makes me cry every time I hear it. Michelle Dockery is such a talented actress, her voice, mimics all gorgeous. Her and Matthew is just so natural together, perfect, tangible chemistry. Gosh, Maggie Smith is a jewel. Love them.❤
It's 2018 and I still can't move on from the fact that Matthew died in season 3. I love this pair.
I just watched this scene... Now I know Matthew is going to die... I dont know what to do
So I just finished season 3. It was ending the last chapter and he was still alive so I thought you guys had made a joke here, but then the car scene started and I realized what was about to happen... Really sad! :(
@@Naldjei3396 utter stupidity from director. pls don't watch the rest of the seasons, else I'm damn sure you'd be annoyed

@@avarose2672 oh that's horrible. I'm glad the rest of the main cast aside from O'brien continued on
Beautiful ❤️ 17.08
Such an amazing song.. Michelle Dockery sung it so well and so did Dan Stevens.
This is my favourite scene in all from downton abbey!!!Every time I see it I cry I can't help myself especially when I remember what happened in season 3 to Sybil and Matthew and of course to William in the next episode!!I think that is a scene that shows us many things as love support and need of hapiness in our lives!!!They totally nailed it!!!Congratulations to everyone!!!They were all lovely in this scene especially my M/M!!!!!!
one of the most beautiful television moments i've seen in the last few years
This Is like Mary’s royal moment that makes up for her not being the queen
I guess this is how he landed the role of the Beast.
Real life lady Mary (the beautiful woman i don't remember the name) MUST record this music, just her voice and a piano. She's amazing here.
Michelle Dockery, the actress, does sing, beautifully. Enchanting voice. th-cam.com/video/yKa96ch4q-A/w-d-xo.html
She has a lovely voice! I just wish she wouldn’t breathe in the middle of phrases, sign of an untrained singer. She’d be amazing with some training.
They were wonderful together.
Always loved Dan's voice, and here he proves it's just as beautiful when he sings. Perfect, perfect Matthew.
I know, right?! 🌹
I can't stop to see this scene again and again and again!!!
One of my favourites scenes of Dowton Abbey !!
I cry everytime. This is just perfect. #OTPFeels
This scene is one of the best in tv history
This is actually the first time in the show that Mary genuinely smiles and it's so cute!
Je ne peux pas m'empêcher de pleurer en regardant cette vidéo. Matthew :'(
2 ans plus tard, idem.
when both mary and matthew sing, it is like a stage play. so enchantingly beautiful...
This is the best scene ever
I watched this scene after too years. It made me cry again.
Okay DA has convinced me that this song will be the first dance song at my future wedding.... Heck! I'll have a wedding just to waltz to this song... Love this so much

Greatest and sweetest scene from Downton Abbey !
Well done.
I saw this scene on the PBS showing of this series, and I too was very moved by this clip....Nice of you to post it...
I have lost count of the times I have watched this. It's a beautiful piece of television.
I am in love with her singing. I wish she would record a full cover
One of the best scenes in Downton. only second to the cricket match scene, in my opinion
okay but why is Edith once again left unappreciated. poor Edith did a great job at the piano.
Lol everyone’s singing except for Violet! What an amazing scene!!
It's scenes like this, movies like Walle, and books like the Fault in our stars that give life a sense of wonder and magic.
i cry every single time watching this. Every single time.
This is one of the best scenes of the serie. This is full of romance
Now,this is what I call quality performance.I watch it from time to time, nothing is fading in it.
When I have seen it for the first time i was like OMG! Such a wonderfull scene! Downton is simply one of my favourite tv series. And this song with Mary's voice is a fairytale.
So beautiful ❤
This will forever be my favourite scene in the whole series! I love it, so beautiful
STILL CRYING
3 yrs later... still?
This scene is to be kept FOREVER!
Simply beautiful!
Ugh, their alternating glances at the end, how they miss each other every time>(
Thank you so much for this video! It's my favorite scene of Downton Abbey.
The best scene of the entire show.
The way Hugh is sat there as Lord Grantham, the look in his eyes as he seems to be thinking back to better times made that scene for me.
Almost singing to himself while he remembered fonder times.
Une des plus belles scène de la série, chacun à sa place et donne le meilleur de lui-même. Bravo.
As well as Matthew and Mary, I liked the look at the end between Daisy and William.
alex jones and Brandon and Sybil!
Wow, that Matthew can sing 🎶. I-want-MORE!
I cried like a baby in this scene
Das ist die schönste Szene der ganzen Serie. Mir kommen immer die Freudentränen. Zugleich sehe ich auch das Gesicht von Maggie Smith.
I cried when Matthew came in!!!!! Seriously goosebumps
Violet Crawley is perfect! I love her as much as my granny.
ONE OF THE BEST SCENES.
This was also sung, famously, in the entertainment night event in the Bridge on the River Kwai - one of the greatest movies ever made and perhaps David Lean's best direction
I cry .Every single time.
Once again I had tears
I wish Dan didn't decide to leave!! :--(((
yeah why did he do that! Poor Matthew and Marry, just because Dan didnt want to anymore, i should have stayed for the greatness of the series :(((
@@rlj99 yeah but what would the story be about. Marriage issues hmm
@@mikeoxmaul45 they shouldn't have gone beyond season 3 . they have anyway covered non sense stories like Anna rape, Carson marriage and all.
Am I crying ? Nooooo.... not at all.....
I love this scene. Matthew was such beautiful person...
Beauty, talent, voice ... Michelle Dockery is blessed.
Cried my eyes out for this
VIolet's face is one of my favorite things in this scene XD
Oh sheer nostalgia. I haved watched downton abbey continuously for 5 times that when i see anything about downton abbey it feels like i lived here once and now i don't 16-3-2021 2:29 pm
The good old days of Downton w/Mary & Matthew :-). It seems so long ago now :-(.
Thank u so much for sharing... I can't stop crying myself. I'm a sucker for such songs!
Such wonderful scene from Downtown Abbey.❤
I was re-watching the last christmas episode where Bates comes back from Ireland and reminiscing the past few years with Downton when I thought of the similarity to this scene. Oh Downton, thank you for giving me an infinity within the numbered days. ;)
One of the most powerful moments in season two.
The actress who plays Mary did a great job here. Mary is so in love with Matthew its adorable.
Love it when Carson joins in and softens up 😂😍
Wonderful scene
Such a beautiful voice....I feel at peace
U broken my heart 💔where are u now? This song u sent it to me l love it so much but now it's so hard to hear it . I don't need it in my recommended because I'm done

Best scene ever. Makes me cry everytime.
The real highlight of this scene starts at 1:50..❣️❣️❣️

I came here in a lonely night to feel heart warming ❤
Mary Crawley, the Soldier's sweetheart. Look at the way she's being watched 😍😍😍
I remember when we all used to sing...happy times

A cuatro años de esto, aun no puedo aceptar que Mathew haya muerto.
