It's almost Chicken hatching time!!! After storing fertile eggs, we are very excited to candle the eggs to see if they are fertile or infertile. We will be using the Nature Right 360 table top incubator we purchased at our local box store. In this video we take you through the complete process of candling the chicken eggs.

Thank you for a great video we are hatching our own eggs for the first time this year and we loved watching you candle we’re candling ours tonight. Also we love your waymaker shirt! ❤
This was absolutely the best and most helpful video I've watched on candling at day 7. Thank you!!!
Thanks so much for watching
Love your shirt 🙌🏻
thank you.
What do you mark ur eggs with? I have a broody hen on day 2 of eggs, when is the best time to candle for first time? and do you date the eggs? we took ALL 10 eggs laid when we found her broody yesterday and put them all under our hen, she's still on them but has laid another as well, boy she's growling if anyone comes near, I find this amazing...
Great video, thank you
thanks
4 days is typically not at all long enough. That roo needs to be with them at least 2 weeks (most of the time) before you can expect fertilized eggs.
What do you do with the unfertilized eggs on day 7?
Thank you for all the support for eggs because we have hens and their laying eggs and we candle them and they have veins is that a fertile egg?
Yes if you are seeing veins after one week of incubation then the egg is fertile.
What do you write on your eggs with? This is my first time doing this. It is exciting! I used a sharpie to make a small mark on the ones I know are fertile not even thinking, worried now it will contaminate them?
You can use a pencil it works just fine
We used a sharpie at first and most recently used a pencil
I have eggs in an incubator it’s my first time doing it but I see that in one egg there’s some yellow like syrup stuff outside of it do you have any idea of what it could be ?
Hi! The egg could have a small crack, and the yolk may be leaking. You may want to take it out and examine it for any cracks. Discard it if you see any Thank you for watching!
I have eggs on day 6 incubation. I have one I candled and saw a black chicken embryo but it didn't move around. Do you think it's still alive?
Yes, you should put it back in the incubator until day 14 and check it again
@@MississippiFamilyHomestead OK great I did leave it in the incubator. Thank you!
What day is this? Im on day 2 and dont see anything like this one.
You can't see in day 2 mine is in day 4 now I can see
Are the unfertilized eggs edible, or should they be tossed out?
🤮
After being incubated, they should be thrown out.
