There have been major leaks. It will be shown at Sony's conference. It'll have Dante, Vergil (I'm surprised that he's back), and Nero. Sony also apparently funded it some how and it is alleged that because of this it will be coming to PS4 and PC. They apparently also will have a demo prepared. My guess is that they will do what they did with RE7 and have it playable the night of the reveal. If not they will have it playable later on this year before the games release which is scheduled for this year.
Capcom needs to quit playing around and make a Devil May Cry collection that's built from the ground up to take full advantage of current gen hardware, much like Shadow of the Colossus for the PS4!!
old post I know....but tbh I think the reason they don't is because they might break some thing within the code that changes the way the game plays/feels which in turn would the ruin the nuanced and in depth gameplay of each title.. I would love for them to add better textures, lighting, particle effects and better animations and polygons but yea mayne there is just something there that could end up broken. With 1080p and 60fps the graphics are sharper than the PS2's 640*448, but this collection doesn't make use of the PS4's potential (no 4k, no post processing, no new shader, not more polygons etc.). It isn't a remake like the new Shadow of the Colossus. If you haven't played DMC for a long time, it can be worth it. But if you would own the 2012 PS3 version the improvements are not big enough, in my opinion.

Capcom is trying to squeeze the users as much as possible with games from the past. In my opinion, the version of DMC HD Collection of the last generation was ok and there was no reason to release this game again. This sort of games should be backward compatible, but we are sold games from the last gen at a price of novelty.
Of course there's a reason. I never owned a ps3 nor have a ever played these games. I recently bought the bundle which includes dmc 1-4 for the ps4 and I am really happy about it

The problem with these remasters is they remove the effects that actually made it look good in the first place. Look at the original DMC it looks nice if not a tiny bit dated but then cut to the 2018 remasters and it looks like a fucking N64 game, the visual effects that hid how bad the models and textures were are removed, and then we're left with the same PS2 era textures and models. Think about all the PS1 and PS2 and early PS3 games people considered to have good graphics, the thing that is consistent between them all is that there is a level of visual muddiness that hides the textures and models, but when we strip that away and boost the sharpness and visual fidelity it makes it look like total ass. The 2012 versions have the same problem but it's not nearly as bad as the new 2018 version

PS3 runs in 720p, PS4 runs in 1080p if you own the PS3 version there's no point buying the PS4 version. The Switch version is where things are different, you get Style Switching and you're able to have all your weapons with you at the same time with a weapon wheel, and a new co-op Dante and Vergil Mode which is fully functioning multiplayer as Dante and Vergil have their own health bars, Devil Trigger metres and ews Orb counters.
Yes ! I love the first ! :-) It was one of my preferred games on PS2. What a game ! :-P But I like the 3rd very much too, even if at the time, I reneged a bit the next episodes, too different. From what I can tell, these are the differences, on average: Original is the original, displaying lovely vaseline-o-vision. Color saturation can, and will, vary widely. 2012 is a super clean/sharp presentation of the original, specifically the environmental textures being very sharp, with slightly (very fine) higher saturation/vibrance. The light effects, like from bulbs/fire, seem kinda like a collage effect, kinda noticeably overlaid/translucent to the background. 2018 again is super clean, but, compared to 2012, looses/reduces the sharpness in the environmental textures and seems to blend/smear to be a uniform appearance. The color strength/vibrance is also slightly muted relative to 2012, mostly in the environmental textures. Here the lighting effect seems to be more natural and transparent. Clearly these observations aren't going to be consistent, with slight variation within each version of the games (some parts of 2012 DMC# will look better done in some parts than in others), relative to themselves, and can't be compared across the different games, even relative to their own versions (clearly 2018 DMC1 textures can't be compared to 2018 DMC3 textures). There are also some details that present cleaner in 2012, like DMC1, while some look slightly better in 2018, like DMC3. But again these details are, more or less, consistent on average.
Looks way better in 360 & PS3. It's a shame though, because I wanted to buy the XOne version. I already have the 360 version and it's amazing, I fucking love the three games :)
Frankie You also have to notice, the cutscenes were barely changed. Dante has flat texture guns in DMC 3 Cutscenes, but ingame they have proper textures.
I dont care about graphics in this games, if the gameplay isnt broken its for me, but DMC 2 was just fuckin awful itself you all must admit, from the PS2 era.
Yeah, I mean Dante's campaign was awful, but Lucia's was surprisingly good, actually. They built the game after her, after all. Graphics is least important to me, and all versions of DMC 1-3 play at a rock solid 60fps, which is what really matters, anyway.

Ysarc i tried the pcsx2 emulation running on gtx1060 and trust me, it is way better than the HD recollection since the original sound, motion blur and depth are still there. The HD recollection butchered down all of that
The 2018 version looks like a straight upscale of the ps2 version. The 2012 version seems to have some postfx or ssao added which gives the graphics more depth. I've tested the HD collection on PC in 4K (via the .ini tweak) and it is sharp but motion blur/effects are missing.
XD thats not all -> Audio not properly synced during cutscenes (0.2sec delay) ->Visual bugs with Griffon during the fight and during its retreat ->Missing motion blur effect ->Bad Soundtrack Loop ->Higher pitched noises ->Low Soundtrack Quality ->Bad sky boxes few more i can not bebothered to put in.

what the game needs is a style switch update, of course have it be optional, like how the switch handled it, on PC there's the DDMK mod incase you don't own a switch to experience what being able to style Switch in DMC3

The only one that is worth it is the 1 and outside this collection the 4, already it did Hideki Kamiya in collaboration with Shinji Mikami, for that reason it is so similar Resident evil. The 2 and the 3 did not do them.
The second game does look kinda worse doesn't it? The res is definately higher, but the textures seem worse. Plus the guns seem punchier on the first release. 2:28 either its a brighter image on the new release, or theres some mild ambient occlusion missing? Focus on the horse..

I wanted to have it on PS4 downloaded just for convenience and be able to play it with headphones plus the 60fps but missing game effects/audio butchering are unacceptable, oh well at least they didn't shit all over it like the Jak collection, they made those games UNPLAYABLE and did not even bother to fix it or give refunds

Wow, the PS3 versions actually look better than the PS4 versions. The slightly softer anti-aliased 720p look works better for the low polygon graphics than the really sharp 1080p image.
Timeless classics getting half-assed "HD" ports is never something to rejoice about. It only sours the legacy of the games. While not quite as bad as the notorious Silent Hill "HD Collection", there are still numerous issues of various degrees in the DMC's HD ports.
Why can't I play the HD collection I already bought for the 360 though? I was considering buying the xbox one edition cuz I live these 3 games but looking at this video i'm kinda wondering why they rereleased a remake just to cash gouge my nostalgia trips and rendered my previous purchase useless in the process. It's like trying to resell me skyrim again, like yeah i'm gonna buy it just cuz I don't have a 360 anymore. but was it worth it? Well yes it was, but that's not the point lol.
I would just lime a level select added to part 1, how 2-4 did it. Have not played 5 so dont know if it is rhe same. These still hold up very well otherwise. Also my copy doesnt look that dark on ps4.
Yellow orbs makes you "continue", restarting from outside the bossfight or what you were doing, golden instead, revives you right away, and you can continue the fight
@@artistanthony1007 you were playing in the "Gold" mode of DMC3SE. as Devil May Cry 3 Special edition gives you the choice between 2 modes, Gold mode for gold orbs, and Yellow mode for Yellow orbs. this is selected upon starting a save file in all versions of DMC3SE including the original PS2 and PC port.
nah I bought it today and it is a messy port with blinking shadows, buggy textures and barely acceptable controller support. The game can be played just fine after messing around for 30 minutes or so but the buggy graphics make me recommend every other pc port over the 2006 one.
@@WednesdayMan yeah, It's the version I recommend on PC. There is the possibility to emulate the PS2 version but I've heard it is a bit of a mess to get it working properly (they might have fixed it by now though)
@@GamingPenis yeah emulation isn't worth it, it just won't be as smooth as real PS2 hardware, if you want to run the PS2 version for whatever reason, use a real ps2, don't emulate it.
Why I can't play dmc 3 se with good graphics in my pc it shows very White graphic can't even see properly and some cutscenes aren't showing too.. I hate it

Wow the PS2 version looks like they place a jar of vaseline and made it look so smudgy but I got the PS3 version from 2012 even though I use to own the PS2 version oF DMC 1 and DMC3 but never owned 2 only rented but never came back to playing it ever again even if its in the collection. I might get it on sale for Steam to play it on my Laptop on the Go

Only thing you can do with emulation is upscaling the internal resolution.
Doom Guy which most of the time fucks up all kinds of flat textures and huds I might add. Emulation is great as long as you are not greedy.

I honestly can't really see what it is Capcom did differently with this "new" collection. The resolution doesn't look any different than in the 2012 collection. Is it really 1080p??🤣 Capcom's bullshit laziness has me really doubting they did anything other than take the 2012 version and stick it on the PS4. 😆🤣😂 FUCK CAPCOM FOR LIFE

Dude, just looking, the 2018 one misses a lot of blur and other effects, better stay with my ps2 and ps3 copies.
Wow, the PS3 versions actually look better than the PS4 versions. The slightly softer anti-aliased 720p look works better for the low polygon graphics than the really sharp 1080p image.
Now if only Ubisoft would do the same thing for Splinter Cell...

Timeless classics getting half-assed "HD" ports is never something to rejoice about. It only sours the legacy of the games.
While not quite as bad as the notorious Silent Hill "HD Collection", there are still numerous issues of various degrees in the DMC's HD ports.

Why can't I play the HD collection I already bought for the 360 though? I was considering buying the xbox one edition cuz I live these 3 games but looking at this video i'm kinda wondering why they rereleased a remake just to cash gouge my nostalgia trips and rendered my previous purchase useless in the process. It's like trying to resell me skyrim again, like yeah i'm gonna buy it just cuz I don't have a 360 anymore. but was it worth it? Well yes it was, but that's not the point lol.

I would just lime a level select added to part 1, how 2-4 did it. Have not played 5 so dont know if it is rhe same. These still hold up very well otherwise.
Also my copy doesnt look that dark on ps4.

Yellow orbs makes you "continue", restarting from outside the bossfight or what you were doing, golden instead, revives you right away, and you can continue the fight

The person was most likely playing on the "Yellow" mode of DMC3SE, where you need Yellow orbs to continue.
@@WednesdayMan In the original DMC3, Gold Orbs dont exist which I've played, Gold Orbs in DMC3SE was a surprise for me.
@@artistanthony1007 you were playing in the "Gold" mode of DMC3SE. as Devil May Cry 3 Special edition gives you the choice between 2 modes, Gold mode for gold orbs, and Yellow mode for Yellow orbs. this is selected upon starting a save file in all versions of DMC3SE including the original PS2 and PC port.

It seems like DMC 3 SE for PC was okay in 2006 and for now.
nah I bought it today and it is a messy port with blinking shadows, buggy textures and barely acceptable controller support. The game can be played just fine after messing around for 30 minutes or so but the buggy graphics make me recommend every other pc port over the 2006 one.

@@WednesdayMan yeah, It's the version I recommend on PC. There is the possibility to emulate the PS2 version but I've heard it is a bit of a mess to get it working properly (they might have fixed it by now though)
@@GamingPenis yeah emulation isn't worth it, it just won't be as smooth as real PS2 hardware, if you want to run the PS2 version for whatever reason, use a real ps2, don't emulate it.

@@Slask7 Yeah, I would say so. The only thing 2018 really has over the other's is that you can switch between games. Where as the older versions, you had to restart to switch

Wow the PS2 version looks like they place a jar of vaseline and made it look so smudgy but I got the PS3 version from 2012 even though I use to own the PS2 version oF DMC 1 and DMC3 but never owned 2 only rented but never came back to playing it ever again even if its in the collection. I might get it on sale for Steam to play it on my Laptop on the Go
