I've often found that when lefties throw home, they look at the runner at first base and have a higher leg kick. When they throw to first, they look home and keep their leg kick low. Also, a good time to go on a lefty is by taking a big lead and drawing a throw. It's a one way lead so you are expecting him to throw to first and when he does you can get back easy with a step and a dive. The next lead you take should be a little shorter. The pitcher will think that you are not stilling and are worried about getting picked off due to the shorter lead. This is the best time to go on first move. Good video and tips. I'm really enjoying your channel Coach.
Great video! Is the runners approach to stealing differ depending on the number of outs there are? Meaning, does the runner play back or stay more in the running lane. Thanks
Would it be a balk if the pitcher leads forward towards home and the. Throw to first cause I see it a lot and umps don’t call it. It would mean a lot to me if u can answer me I have been struggling against lefty’s
Coach...Good Video as always ... My son is in PeeWee (12yrs) this season and its the first year of actual lead off and throwing over to 1st. How about a video of holding runners from the pitchers perspective? Would love to see and show to our team. Thanks
The other best strategy of stealing 2nd or 3rd base off a left hand pitcher is when if the pitchers coach tells him to focus on the batter not the base runner then that's a good time to take a big lead and steal 2nd or 3rd base what ever base your on doesn't matter. Hopefully this works
It’s funny you say that cause I will probably attempt to pick of the runner ( I am a lefty obviously) as many times I can until my coach gets fed up. Then I stop pretty much immediately. That’s a pretty good strategy.
Not only great tips on how to steal on lefties but you left handed pitchers take note, great things work on to not be predictable in your delivery to home or your pickoff movesto first. Take these clues given here and use them to your advantage. Make your top pickoff move mirror your delivery to home in every aspect you can and work on mixing up your looks and how you use your looks in your delivery. You CAN be a successful pickoff artist!
What you guys think?
what if im a lefty pitcher what should i do to pick of players
Great video

So true! Good points!
That will be helpful in 11u.
Hello
Hello
Third!
So fast 🤣
Step 1- be fast
Step 2- go when the front leg moves
Step 3- run and pray
Except the umpire won't see the foot cross over and he'll call you out anyway.
Possibility
Sorry but this still wouldn’t work! A lefty would still catch you in a pickle and they would tag you out
With that attitude, yes
