this is an extremely well thought out, detailed and helpful video! thank you guys so much! it's very easy to tell the instructors have a lot of real experience and knowledge to share!
Thanks for the great instructional video, Coaches Madden and Shaw. Anxious to show this to my 12yo son. I know it'll be a big help! I especially love the tip about the imaginary line and flipping anything to the left of it.
Thanks Dad! Yeh, I thought that was a great tip from Nick as well. I'll be posting one for 2nd basemen as well and he breaks down the lines again. I learned a lot when he came out. I'm glad you liked.
I just got back from an all star game and my team was winning 9-0. We thought we were gonna win so we took out our pitcher put and put a not as good one in. After we did that, the other team started scoring runs like crazy. We got to the bottom of the 6th inning and it was tied 9-9. There was a kid on 3rd andI was playing RF and a kid on the other team hit a bomb and I raced about 40 feet away and caught it a foot from the fence. Immediately whipped it home and reached but was a half step late and they won 9-10.
Great story, but I'd be careful posting online that you think the other guy is "not as good." Every pitcher on your team needs to think the guys behind him have full confidence in him. A lot of times at a young age, the "good" guys are just the guys who naturally throw hard and it's the weaker guys who are learning how to actually pitch. When you all mature, that guy who can really pitch is going to have an advantage. God bless, and go get 'em next time!
Yup! Already done! Uploading it next week sometime so make sure you're subscribed with notifications turned on so you'll be notified when it uploads! Thanks
What do you mean for a catcher with a catcher? You mean like have a pro catcher come and shoot some videos talk about catching? If so, I'm already on it! What type of catching tips would you like to see?
Sure. This would be a great office hours episode since I'll be inside. Want to send me this question as a video of you asking it and I'll answer it in one of those episodes?

Your a good dude to be posting all of this stuff. I can tell you actually care about proper fundamentals. Keep it up!

Good stuff! I like the detail aspect of the foot work.

Hey great video! You should do a video about receiving throw downs from the catcher
Good idea! I'll have to get Nick to talk about that next time he is out to shoot some videos.

hey coach madden do you know ways to stretchout and workout your arms as a pitcher?
Yes. What are you looking to do specifically?
I am looking for ways to do arm workouts and stretches as a pitcher to build and strengthen my arm on a daily basis.
I am looking for ways to do arm workouts and stretches as a pitcher to build and strengthen my arm on a daily basis.
Yeh, just browse through my TH-cam channel and you'll find a bunch of stuff like that!

Can you do one of these but from the second base side
Yup! Already done! Gonna upload next week sometime.
Could you do a video like that but for a catcher with a catcher?
What do you mean for a catcher with a catcher? You mean like have a pro catcher come and shoot some videos talk about catching? If so, I'm already on it! What type of catching tips would you like to see?
Yes, and blocking and manage a pitcher.
I'd love to hear advice on how to receive a ball that is in the baseline, when you know the runner is about to collide with you.
Ok cool will do
Ahhhh yes. That's a very tough play. I would definitely have to bring in an experienced catcher for that one. Will get on it though! Thanks!
Awesome
Thats my infield coach nick shaw
Big mans glove looks like his hand
Nice vid
Thanks man. What position are you?
YouGoPro I'm the guy who request B1 drills vids.
Ahhhh....so I'm guess you're B1...lol...thanks
Cool glove
Could you make a video for indoor pitching drills?
Sure. This would be a great office hours episode since I'll be inside. Want to send me this question as a video of you asking it and I'll answer it in one of those episodes?
YouGoPro that would be great- on instagram I'm g.pearson44
how about the 2nd baseman
Yup! We got you on that one too. I'll be uploading it next week sometime so make sure you're subbed with notifications turned on
I have trouble receiving the ball from the catcher on a steal
As the middle infielder?
YouGoPro kind of, it would mean a lot if you did a video tagging the runner on a steal cause they always get around my tag!!
Video needs examples of overhand throws. Only had a few live examples of flips.
why is his glove so small for the pitcher
Justin Filippone those are training gloves to work on quick hands.
A lot of middle infielders prefer a much smaller glove simply because it makes for an easier transfer. Less room for the ball to move around in there.
It's a training glove. You can check them out on my website at www.ugoprobaseball.com
I bought ur pitching 365.2 program for 50$ and I can't use it
Oh no! No log in? What's your email? I'll get you set up!
Why is johns glove so small? Is that your kids glove
I'm just huge. I'm 7 foot 2 inches. I weigh 395 lbs. Nick Shaw is actually 6 foot 5 inches 235 lbs. That is an outfielders glove I'm wearing.
JK...it's a mini training glove. I have them on my website at www.ugoprobaseball.com you can check them out.
He made that glove look tiny
#love
The flash between topics is brutal. That’s gotta go. Content is great though.
first comment
Niiiice! You got notifications on?

My man! I'm going to do something special for guys with notifications on. Any ideas on what?
