    Farm tile outlines are darker than grass outlines, which might give the impression that the player can't walk through them. Usually, farm tiles themselves shouldn't stand out too much, crops should. Anyway, very good tutorial, keep this up!

      Ahh yes Most tiles are designed with a designated light source. Unique game types (top down, side scroller, isometric etc.) has unique light source. I've made a guide on how light and shadow behave in each cases here if you're interested th-cam.com/channels/HHeduCs0IIrPFPGGYI5fkg.htmlcommunity?lb=UgkxZ43nhEv_6xbDe1_hRwqOnBuKBTkrr07j

    I just loved your work! I'm feeling a lot more confident in learning pixel art now, thanks a lot! I've being studying programming by years and trying game development, and I always struggle trying to use premade assets from other artists. Gonna start making my own art.

      Yayy I’m glad this inspires you! Imagine one day you’ll be publishing your own game with your own art, that would be so awesome haha! If you do, just send me a message and I’ll be there to support 🥳

      @charg1nmalaz0r51 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah premade assets always tend to not have everything you need. Like you'll grab a tileset and it doesnt have everything for auto-tiling for example. Once you get fairly good at pixel art nothing is stopping you

    May I know how do you choose the color palette? Thank you for making this tutorial. I just started to learn how to do pixel art and your videos help a lot.

    • @hanapixelme
      @hanapixelme  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that's a very good question and the answer might require some demonstration. Generally I see a lot of people pick their color based on intuition. There are some rules when it comes to picking colors like color value, hue shifting etc., which is good to know but can get quite overwhelming if you're just starting out.
      Generally all color choices links back to color theory, which is how saturations, hues and value behaves or connected to each other. Marco Bucci explained it quite well in his video here th-cam.com/video/gJ2HOj22gDo/w-d-xo.html
      But the palette choices will be based on your own environment.
      These are the colors I choose (dark to light): #5c2f27 #663931 #713e35 #7e4339 (I try to limit the color palette to around 3-5 colors)
      I first choose the base color #663931 (which is the middle brown color in the default palette).
      From there, I choose a much darker shade #5c2f27 for the shadow. This one has a deeper lightness and saturation (basically diagonally darker) compare to the base color since it lies deep within the seedbed and doesn't receive that much light. Why I gave this darker shade more saturation is cause i just like a richer shadow color and it fits the farm vibe :) also, value wise, I don't have to go deeper to black (but, personal choice).
      Then for the brightest highlight #7e4339, I just kinda wing it and go up a bit (not too far up cause I don't want the highlight's color value to be close to any color value on other objects like dirt and grass). The middle color #713e35 is something in the middle on the line going from the base color to the highlight.
      Later on it might get complicated when each surface has different hues.
      But for now, and for this case, that's how I pick the color palette
      I might make videos going more into color theory in the future ~maybe

    Nice you're making more pixel art tutorials! Very helpful! I love your little critter in the pumpkin.... Sooooo cute!! Wish i could pet'em. Does your critter bite? I hope not.... 😅
    By the way, how do you overlay your tips box while drawing on aseprite/libresprite? I'm guessing... Post production magick?! 🎉 😮

    • @hanapixelme
      @hanapixelme  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, and there might be even more of them. So I guess you could pet them all I haven't seen its teeth yet though.
      And ye, that's post production magic lol. I wish there's a tool to automatically overlay it, would be much faster 😁
