I think the title of the Storybook kit is because there’s this style of architecture in the US with kind of fake-gothic houses called “storybook style house” because it was inspired by these old books of fairytales for children. So it’s meant to look like the really old Brothers Grimm fairytale kind of furniture. Yet another case of the Sims team using words that really only make sense if you’re American and then hoping it’s a word that means the same thing all over the world.
In Sims 4 you can take photos, a sunset, a park....and then you can create a painting from that photo. I am thinking the backdrop is a good way to get photos, to create a painting from. It looks like it is set up so you can place things from different kits, to create a photo from. Not sure if they added a feature where you can look at something and just paint it, I remember it as taking photos or snapshots, then I think you could then choose a style of painting you wanted. It's been a while since I played an artist.
i think of it like the backdrops for the photographer career, i’m already planning on building a photography/art studio lot so that sims can sit down in front of the backdrops and get a portrait/photo of themselves. and yes the function to take a painting by reference is taking a picture, you’d just stand in front of the backdrop and pose just like photography
The hanging sheet is popular as a backdrop for artists who are learning how to paint because the way light plays off folds in cloth is very instructive for painters.
Obsessed with the pastel swatches of the Nursery kit, ESPECIALLY the baby pram/stroller that functions as a bassinet AND the pretty rug in it's circus and floral swatches.
14:40 im not quite sure but it looks like a paper cabinet!! on the top you store anything you might need (paint thinner or medium etc), in the midde part anything small (in my class we use it for different kinds of ink - im a printmaker, not a painter) and in the bottom it's all paper for drawing! also about the backdrop - i have never seen a cloth one, only paper or the wall. it's used to have a background and, because the background reflects light, to study colours and reflections!
I just wanted to let you know that the long table you placed down that didn’t have any slots on top of it is a new version of the woodworking bench and that’s why you weren’t able to place any items on it
I will say when I Google storybook that isn't the style. You see the whimsical forest type fairytale stuff not something that will be hard to use anywhere that isn't a castle. It also doesn't really feel like the style the game calls storybook which is mostly the cottage kind of style and not really the opulent and sophisticated style that the pack is litterally descibed as. It is a nice style for rich families and in some cases occult which is very but not the whimsical cabin in the woods style I was expecting with the name which is kinda disappointing. But of course style is subjective so to those that feel the name fits that is totally fair. But it's still a very good kit. Also that cabinet thing has some drawing paper sticking out

Ooooh, well that explains the lack of slots 😂😂😂
Thank you for sharing all the items! They all look super well done ❤
Love the new kits ❤
Thank you for sharing! I love the new kits, they are beautiful 💖
If they did a band pack, I think it would be better as a stuff pack so we could have new music game play
Would be minimal gameplay added through a stuff pack (they usually only add one new gameplay thing in SPs), but I don’t disagree! 🤍

As an artist, watching you struggle with what all the different art supplies are for made me both frustrated and giggling. 😂
This is when you’re supposed to share your knowledge!! 😝😝
