Everybody can see you’ve got some aspiring talent in the Sanderstead junior section but i was just as impressed with your opponent’s. It was admirable to see them dig in and keep it going even when it became obvious that a humiliating defeat was inevitable. Full marks to both the coaches.
Love this. As junior coordinator for my club I can say that you have some very talented youngsters. If they ever fancy a tour of the South Coast, Poole Town CC would give them a game.
Great game from the lads. Some very promising talent there. Reminds me of the 1989 u.14A team of the Paul Roos Gymnasium I coached. Undefeated season and great lads one and all. Proud to still have many of them as friends.
That's a great little vid to fill in the week.Good to see the young lads and lady have game.Well done on a big win.Didn't realize the Mini Rig (Luca) was that young !
Thanks for this, most enjoyable watch. Looks like they were all having a great time out there, and playing some good cricket. Luca is a real talent, reminds me of a young Matt Coles when I used to play with him (and he was a similar age), hitting those 'stand and deliver' shots.
Bisuits, biscuits, biscuits....controversially a Fig Roll for me. Good to see the Sanderstead U14 playing so strong;ly; and the Pink ball in use. Much better for older eyes to follow on after evening/school games. No such luck in my sons Essex U13 20/20 presently. Dodging unseen balls abounds!
Excellent to see Dan, thank you. Some real talent on display there, would love to see more of them through the season & see the progress they are making. I do enjoy watching Luca bat, he reminds me of a young me... only talented!!😂
Well, seeing that very, very, very fine leg being deployed for a while brought back some memories! Byes (and wides) would often be top the scorers in my U14 days, so we always had the "back-stop" in place! Great vid Dan!
Would love to see more U14 action. As a junior coach myself I appreciate the work done to encourage and improve young players. You've a great bunch at Sanderstead, work hard to retain them.
Thanks Mike - hope all well. Yes, Luca Rees is something else - lot of power and timing for a 13 yr old! The ground is looking its best ever - thanks to Keysey, Matt H and a band of volunteers who roll, mow and keep the covers on and off. Everything’s on the up…..
Great to watch, some lovely young talent there! I can sympathise with the Cornish Kohli regarding junior cricket, or indeed any cricket at all - not being a "natural talent" like him, not easy to find anything in Berkshire. An abundance of cricket pitches here, but no clubs! Anecdotally it seems to me like counties with first-class cricket teams have much the better structure regarding grassroots cricket, and getting in to the game - often it seems like it's virtually impossible without either a) having a cricket-playing relative or b) showing an aptitude from the age of eight... As for biscuits - Fox's Cream Crunches, or Crunch Creams, or whatever they're called - the double-layered plain ones. Quite marvellous they are, although I do want to stick in an honourable mention for Bourbons, in honour of Dan's magnificent attempt at the world record for the most mentions of the word "chocolate" in a sentence.
Sad to hear that about Berkshire- opportunities aplenty in Surrey, certainly the urban parts. Love a Crunch Cream - and I’ll try and do better on the chocolate mentions. Might do a Biscuit special next time I film the U14s….
@@SandersteadCCTV Good to hear - I think I've only really known two people who are into cricket - one of whom is an Aussie, and one of whom only got involved because they lived next to the cricket club! So excellent to see that it is thriving in certain places - long may it continue. And I think the amount of chocolate was just right - while I would pay money to watch a cricket match for which the entire commentary was you repeating the word "chocolate", others may not agree!
"Smelling the orange squash" 🤣🤣 Great skills and camaraderie on show; also great to see them enjoying themselves and the game. Too many robots out there!
@@SandersteadCCTV colts with the enthusiasm and social skills coached out of them at the expense of technical excellence. You say hello to them in passing and they look at you like you're an alien
Oh Lance! Junior coaching is improving somewhat in Cornwall, where did you play? I coach the youth and captain St Blazey. It would be great to hear from you all, been a fan for a long time🏏 even a friendly if you fancied a Cornwall tour!!
Lance was a Camborne boy - we went on tour there in 1997 (I think). Played Falmouth, Camborne and somewhere else I can’t remember. Got some of it on film - not great footage but might edit/upload at some point with Lance
I personally enjoy a custard cream, dunked in tea of course. Fantastic skills on show from the youth even if they were determined to drop all the catches from Liv's bowling!
1. Is great - definite top 5 2. Hmmm, can’t agree I’m afraid 3. You must remember the match with Longcock and Del debating whether it is a cake or a biscuit! Good stuff…..
Some very talented cricketers the first team will be looking over their shoulder in years to come. I hope Liv continues into the women’s team, very talented.
Chocolate hob-nobs, the king of biscuits, has been de throned by those fiends at M&S who have wrapped copious amounts of choc around a custard cream. Downside is only 6 in the packet and addictive. Back to the future and the prospects look good. Junior Biffage on show. Is alcohol free pilgrim available for the U14s?
Thanks for this - not sure about chocolate covered custard creams, but I’ll try anything once! I’ll get on to Pilgrim Brewery about an U14 suitable brew 😂
Did Kohli say he wasn't allowed to play due to height restrictions? best biscuit has to be the most subjective question ever, I love a double chocolate cookie, but are cookies biscuits? Should consult your legal team before discussing Jaffa cakes 🤣
Our lawyers have been all over this since the Longcock/Derek “incident “ from 2018 when they nearly came to blows over Jaffa Cakes - they are cakes, not biscuits! Whereas cookies are indeed biscuits. Hope this helps…
Real power in Luca's play. He is going to be formidable as an adult
Certainly is - I thought he was 14, but he’s only just 13!
Could tell Dan really enjoyed saying "Biscuits" throughout this video. Only he knows how many times he said it off camera!
Loads!!! Love a decent biscuit….
Well, his favourite footballer is Dunk!
Everybody can see you’ve got some aspiring talent in the Sanderstead junior section but i was just as impressed with your opponent’s. It was admirable to see them dig in and keep it going even when it became obvious that a humiliating defeat was inevitable. Full marks to both the coaches.
Agreed - it’s not easy to take a pasting, but the younger players tend to accept it better than most. For them it’s the game more than the result.
Love this. As junior coordinator for my club I can say that you have some very talented youngsters. If they ever fancy a tour of the South Coast, Poole Town CC would give them a game.
I know they toured Sussex last summer. Will pass on
Great game from the lads. Some very promising talent there. Reminds me of the 1989 u.14A team of the Paul Roos Gymnasium I coached. Undefeated season and great lads one and all. Proud to still have many of them as friends.
Thanks Ray - love it when you get involved with a great team.
Great stuff Dan - the mannerisms from TV and seniors picked up early!
Some talent on show! Liv looks like a very classy bowler, these young kids coming through seem to be better and better each year at every club
I think you’re right (on both counts) - I just hope we get a decent number come through to adult cricket.
@@SandersteadCCTV always the struggle with getting the kids through unfortunately

Glad you enjoyed it.
You love to see young talent spring through, Luca is a gem of a talent, any more U14s action soon? Would be good to see more of the future
I’m keen to film more - as you say this team are super talented and they entertain. Btw I didn’t realise Luca is only 13 and playing “up a year”!
He is doing well for the 3XI as well, certainly in my fantasy team with a couple of other youngsters, and Sandeep…
Thank you Dan. Fantastic entertainment. The girl and boys did great. Super advertisement for JuniorSanderstead Cricket
More please 👍🏻😊
Definitely - love this team! Not only talented but they really enjoy each others company - a great advert for juniors cricket!

Luca looks a first team player in the making
Is he a young county plsyer
He’s not as far as I know, but he has such natural talent. Definitely 1st XI in the next couple of years of years I reckon
Bit of a tea time assortment from biscuits !
And why not!?
Good bunch of players. I like the look of the girl and the young slinger.... he could get quite quick when he fills out...
