Hi Behfor. Thanks for this great demonstration. I try to create a vpn client and all works good. I am able to ping my meraki IP via VPN but i cannot ping clients connected to LAN.

I just did 2 times the stemps but i still can't connect with the MX.
    Sais incorrect but no more.
And in windows Say's: The L2PT connection attempt failed because the security level encountered a process error during initial negotiations with the remote computer.

Very good video, but I still can't connect. I checked the client log and nothing shows up. I can ping the hostname. I also added port forwarding of tcp 443 and udp 500 & 4500 to the mx. Cable modem firewall is disabled.

for the windows VPN setup why are we using PAP (with unencrypted password)? Doesn't that mean a snooper at Starbucks will see my password when I attempt to connect to my Meraki client VPN? what is required on the Meraki settings side, to use an encrypted password setting in Windows?

@@Behfor so that means ppl inside the tunnel can see the clear text password? but because L2TP is point to point, the only ppl in the tunnel are me and the mx?

Can you make a video on how to setup VPN behind multiple NAT. My current network setup is router (mine) -> modem (mine) -> node (isp) -> node (isp) -> Public IP (first ISP) -> node (isp) -> node (isp) -> Public IP (second ISP, also my real public ISP when I search for whatismyip in google). Basically I'm behind 6 network devices before my modem. Is it even possible to setup a VPN with a network setup like mine? Thanks! I'm a fan by the way. Liked your greate and very informative videos and already subscribed as well.

Thanks for the question and also subscribing to the channel :-)
If you are behind NAT then the NAT device should be setup to forward the VPN ports to your router, in the Meraki client VPN case, the ports would be UDP 500 & 4500. If there are more than 1 NAT then each of them should forward the ports to the one downstream until it reaches your router. Hope that helps!

PS. Hopefully sometime soon I'll make a client VPN troubleshooting video and I'll talk about it

    • @jonathancastro247

@@Behfor Yes, It seems like that is the only option. But the problem is, I don't have access to other nat devices because it belongs to my ISP (nodes), then another ISP. Basically, I'm behind two ISP and five networking devices that I don't have access. Thanks for the clarification. I'll try to contact my ISP regarding port-forwarding and VPN Hosting. Thanks a lot! looking forward to more of your videos.
