The thermostat in most cars is about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. Its job is to block the flow of coolant to the radiator until the engine has warmed up. When the engine is cold, no coolant flows through the engine. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature (generally about 200 degrees F, 85 to 95 degrees C), the thermostat opens. By letting the engine warm-up as quickly as possible, the thermostat reduces engine wear, deposits, and emissions.
The secret of the thermostat lies in the small cylinder located on the engine-side of the device. This cylinder is filled with a wax that begins to melt at perhaps 180 degrees F (different thermostats open at different temperatures, but 180 F/82 C is a common temperature). A rod connected to the valve presses into this wax. When the wax melts, it expands significantly and pushes the rod out of the cylinder, opening the valve. The wax happens to expand a good bit more because it is changing from a solid to a liquid in addition to expanding from the heat.
1. Turn On The Heater
It sounds counterintuitive, but Reina recommends turning on the heater. It draws warmth away from the engine and into the passenger compartment, lessening the burden on the engine’s cooling system. In certain circumstances, that may be enough to reverse the overheating, he says. You’ll know it’s working if the warning light goes off or the temperature gauge returns to the neutral position.
2. Pull Over
If your car continues to overheat after you’ve been driving for a few minutes with the heater on, pull over and cut the engine off-it’s the safest and surest way to cool the engine, says Reina. If you have roadside assistance, now is a good time to call, as you may need a tow, Reina suggests.
3. Be Patient
If you don’t have roadside assistance, be patient; it will take at least 15 minutes for the engine to cool. In the meantime, do not attempt to open the hood; the coolant in a car that has overheated may be in excess of 230 degrees, says Reina. Once the hood is open, there’s a risk of being sprayed with hot water or steam. “Your personal safety is most important,” he says. “Waiting for at least 15 minutes allows the hood, engine, and leaking coolant to cool.”
4. Add Coolant
adding coolant after 5000km about 200ml is ok if more than 350ml akes then there will b some leakage internal or maybe external.
5. Drive To A Service Station
Adding coolant does nothing to address the problem that caused your engine to overheat.

bro meri gadi me engine oil level gauge me nahi dikha bilkul bhi phir maine new liya oil or macanic se dalwaya usne purana oil nikala. to wo pani jaisa nikla. to kya problem ho sakti hai engine overhaull hoga kya car start bhi turant hoti hai collant bhi leak nahi hota na car overheating bhi ho rahi Lpg lagi hai bs smoke aata hai halka sa. accelator hard dabane pe. or car maine secend hand lee thi service bhi nahi karayi thi bech me oil check kiya tha do bar to oil dikha raha tha. gadi ko 4 month he huye hai liye or car bht kam chalata hu or car long drive bhi nahi krta zada

Yes i can help you
1.Check the engine sound
2.Check the ac is properly colling or not also check ac pump is creating clicking sound after some time or not if no clicking sound is coming then dont buy
3.check the clutch is working properly or not
4.drive the car until it reaches full temperature and check for collent leak.
5.check wheel alignment and suspension should be little bit stiff if suspension is very soft and creating some noise in bad road then ther is some suspension problem.
6.check engine oil colour and smoke colour when engine is cold and whem engine is hot there should be no difference.

Mere Pass Tata Indigo CS TDI 2010 hai .
Main jab gadi chalta hu to tab cooling reading sahi batata hai but jab AC chalu karte hai tab Tab cooling ka kata toda heating ke side jane lgta hai .
Aur min 5-6 km chalane ke gadi band karta hu to iska cooling FAN turant chalu ho jata hai kya cooling FAN itna jaldi start ho jata hai kya...

Ye voltage ki wajh se coolent me charge ata hai ji se coolent heat hone ke bad engine me ground voltage ache se rehta or sara sensors sahi se work karta hai
But kisi gadi me agar 0 volt dikha raha hai to uska engine me alag se battery se ground kiya hua hota hai or coolent line me viltage nahi dikhta hai.
