You're wise in your desire to restore the window back to where it once upon a time was in your bathroom, especially if you're able to have it be as close to the original window as possible {size, style, etc}. This will increase the resale value of your home! And there's nothing more lovely in any room than natural light illuminating through windows! Also, my dear husband is a "big man"as well, and he loves, loves, loves a bath sheet instead of a bath towel!
Your bathroom looks so fresh, clean and pretty! I love all the towels! You are a trooper for painting everything; all the baseboard, walls and trim...that's a lot of work! I love that you take what you have and make the best of it. Not all of us can spend thousands to remodel a bathroom. You took what you have and turned it into a lovely space! Thank you for taking us along!
So beautiful Kristen! I love how you hung the long painting so that it draws your eye away from the slanted wall. Good job. When my four children were little I gave each one their own towel color, that way if I found one on the floor I'd know who left it there. It was helpful even when they were teens. 😂
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, love , and peace all over the world 🌏. I would love us to be good friends in honesty and in trust so as time goes on it will bring something great for us in the future, hope you don't mind? I'm Thomas Gabriel from Brooklyn New York, where are you from if I may ask??❤
Truly amazing your eye for that and how you made the best of that space. Also always impressed with your thrifting finds! I wish we could find that kind of art easily in CA! Also, love the reading at the end!💛
Thank you for this scripture! I know now why I was drawn to this video rather than do what I normally do which is start where I last watched 🥰. God works in mysterious ways! I’ve followed you since the beginning and I’m SO proud of how far you’ve come. My husband and I have 4 daughters, 1 son, 7 granddaughters, 7 grandsons with a grandson on the way. ♥️ We are truly blessed. I met my husband 41 yrs ago (I was just a baby 😉🥰) and it was love at first sight! I knew he was the one ♥️. We lost him unexpectedly from Septic Shock almost 2 yrs ago. I miss him so much and I get so overwhelmed trying to keep it all together without him. You’ve reminded me however, of the power I have in not only prayer but also faith! This horrible grief, although I know I’ll see my husband and best friend again, some days it’s debilitating. I’ve ALWAYS believed and it’s something I’ve kept strong all my adult life in the power of prayer. But what you’ve reminded me of this morning is I can do on my own is anything as long as I have faith! Thank you for reminding me! ❤
My husband and I went through the same thing replacing the faucet on our pedestal sink. I could totally relate to you when you said y’all about lost your salvation and your marriage! Fabulous improvement until you can remodel.
You have such a great sense of humor! I love that you can laugh at yourself. And you are so brave for sharing your before of the master bath!! I appreciate how genuine & real you are! Thank you for making me smile!
Absolutely beautiful! Kristen, you have what I call a ‘gifted eye’ with color, texture, pairing of things, & creative problem solving; creating beauty while honoring functionality (etc.) in a space. You create (using your gifts, your wisdom & your stunning heart) what is an inviting space that beckons one to enter… & stay. You have the gift of making what is a house, into an extraordinarily charming, character-filled & beautiful… home… through & through. Yours is a house that is built on a firm foundation (Matthew 7:24-27) &… it doesn’t look like all of the others! 🙌🏽 ❤️ That’s powerful, Kristen! That’s gift!
Oh, Kristen…what a beautiful change! Excellent job…glad you didn’t lose your salvation or marriage over this project! 😆. I laughed out loud at that one!! Cindi(from WV) 🤭
This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing these tips. We bought a home that has a second bathroom down to the studs. We are buying things slowly to complete it. I really enjoy the message and scripture shared.
What an amazing makeover, Kristen! For a temperary fix..... You nailed it. Looks like it could last a long time, in my opinion. Love the encouraging passages at the end. Thanks for being a light shining in a dark world.
Absolutely love what you have done- and didn’t break the bank! So glad to see young women practicing contentedness and embracing “good enough for now” when you have so much more important things to focus on. Your bathroom is beautifully transformed. My favorite parts of the video include your reading from Charles Spurgeon and seeing your adorable little ones. Thanks for sharing.
I think swapping the two art pieces so the long deer one is above the long towel rack would be *chef's kiss*. Great temporary fix for now! That angled ceiling would drive me crazy too lol
Beautiful update ...love the deer painting and how it hides the wavy wall. A work around for your light is to build a shallow box to hang the fixture on and run the wiring inside to the existing electrical box. No electrician or drywall repair.
Kristen This turned out so lovely! I wasn’t sure about the large picture but I just love it now. You have such vision! It reminds me of the Bible passage, Psalm 42:1-2 as the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God, My soul thrists My soul pants for God, the living God ❤❤❤
I absolutely LOVE following you and your family. We recently purchased a 1920 farmhouse and I get so unbelievably excited to see your videos for inspiration. Not only do you inspire me as a wife, mother and homemaker myself but as a woman of the Lord! ❤️ Thank you for sharing! Where is your beautiful dress from!?😆
I never saw a bathroom with an adding machine in it.😉. They make a great wallpaper that is textured exactly like bead board. I used it in my kitchen and love it. You could use it even on your uneven wall. It’s not expensive and you wouldn’t need muck to do one accent wall.
Wow! That bathroom looks amazing now! Fabulous job. I love how Charles Surgeon addressed us as Climber. What a great description. The dress you were wearing at the end of the video was adorable!
I spent so long painting our living room and family room and my husband (also named Josh) said exactly that! “It doesn’t look any different” 😭😂 I could tell the difference though. It went from contractor grade white to a much better creamy white LOL
My husband teased that I had been shammed, when I bought paint in pale grey, blue, and lavender for room makeovers. He said they were all white😊Maybe some of our guys can’t see the details😉But OH! How fresh it looked when it was on the walls.
The bathroom turned out nice, I think small improvements are always worth the struggles it takes to complete the job. It makes you happy for now, I love your choice of hardware and I am happy that you kept the towel holder. I love the original character of homes.
Very cute makeover! I love these kinds of makeovers-ones that, due to budget constraints, encourage creativity! I’ve decorated my house with these constraints and absolutely love the challenge and creativity of it.
I’m new here and these are the type of projects I have done for years, the economic ones. My style is vintage, cottage. Our bathroom is even smaller 🫤, I painted it a pale blue with the same thoughts of bringing the outside in. I too enjoy a little whimsy in my rooms. With that said, a small clip on craft bird in a branch might be a fun addition? Thank you for the encouragement that paint, hardware and some decorating makes for big changes. It’s lovely 😊 (enjoy seeing children helping with the project)
This is my favorite house! I am just shaking my head. I cannot believe that you found that gorgeous picture. I have been looking for weeks and cannot find that kind of picture around here anymore in the thrift stores. What a treasure! Your bath is beautiful
“We almost lost our salvation and marriage” 😂🤣😂 I laughed so much at that… I sure can relate! It turned out great though. I’m planning a bathroom refresh soon too so loved the inspiration.
Oh my word, I love everything about the makeover that you did. It’s so cute! I have been in the process of painting my entire house that I just moved into last year and wanted to thank you for sharing the Behr dove paint color with us a while ago. I used this color in my kitchen, both bathrooms, and just finished painting the living room and entry just this past weekend. I’m going to be working on painting my master bedroom next and was thinking to do an accent wall. I love the shade of green you used for your cabinet so I might use this color for my accent wall.
Kristen, I must say I wasn't sure of the colors when you picture those out, but boy what a total transformation. I loved it. I love the gold faucet and towel holder, would you please let me know where you got those, so pretty. Good job Kristen!!
It turned out so beautiful! The switch plate covers you could paint the same as the wall or even the green to make them look better and the lamp cut the cord off and you can do a rechargeable bulb for it. Just a couple ideas!! But it looks so good!!
I always have to remind my husband not to yell at me when we do home projects! Somehow they always have a hiccup in them but in the end they turn out. Love the green and the wall color. The rug brings it all together. Paintings are beautiful too. Keep your eye out for that dresser you want. It will come in time. Take care and have a good week. Good bless you all.
Yes! I remember YoungHouseLove saying that you should make things pretty in the in-between! It looks so good! I also have the same tall wicker basket. Love!
Wow!!! You did an AMAZING job…for just touching up your bathroom …just the little stuff can make a difference…love the colors you choose too…at first I was like UMMMM but, no it’s WONDERFUL…and the antique brass fixtures are BEAUTIFUL!!! For a temporary fix you did a GREAT job…✨😊❤️
Love this makeover. This is such an inspiration for me to redo my bathroom also. ❤❤❤ I’ve been wanting to change up my bathroom but been looking for ideas; thank you for sharing your creativity with us.
I feel you should put the green paint on girls step stool & the sweet barn door. Love the lights & fixtures you picked. Just add a little more green touch. Looks much better. You are a great Mama. ❤
Kristen I love your beautiful bathroom the paint colors are beautiful everything you did and pictures you hung up make the room beautiful your girls will enjoy their new space ❤
Hi Kristen I forgot to tell you you did an amazing job . I am a painter who gets paint on my hair down to my feet . Alot of the time I have to use what we have and I think it is a challenge but fun. There is one thing I miss in the " new " bathroom...the calculator 😂😂😂. Love you girl..u are amazing .
Great updates! Love the idea of a "Phase one" or "until the real reno". Also, as a mom of young boys I couldn't help but chuckle at the tree right next to the toilet. Not much imagination needed to imagine why that wouldn't fly in our house. 😂 Thanks for the great video!
Beautiful makeover on a budget. You did a great job and I love the colors. Just be careful of the paintings in the bathroom if there is a lot of moisture.
Turned out just Beautiful… I just did the same thing last month in my bathroom, no windows and just overhead lighting! Painted, and changed up hardware and light fixture as well as a marble covering on the counter! Some vintage landscape artwork. It’ll work until any renovations down the road 🤍🌿 Have a blessed day
It turned out just beautiful! And that picture of the deer is gorgeous! I love how your daughter is your little helper and following in her mama’s footsteps❤

That turned out SO beautiful! The blue color looks amazing in that small room. In our home we have tiles both on the bathroom walls and floors, so I can't hang anything nice up. That is really an interior choice i regret from when we built our home 20 years ago. :-) Thank you for the scripture you shared. Everything is possible for someone who believes! Amen! ❤
I love the makeover and that you are using what you have to make it beautiful! A coat of paint, a good cleaning and a new rug make a room shine. Thanks for sharing. Also, your message is making a difference--I asked my husband to order my own copy of the devotional book. thank you for that!!!
Moring Kristen! I just did my bathroom over too. I wanted to tell you, as a viewer of yours I have been watching on TV lately, you are on a 50 inch tv LOL. You said though in one of your vids that your views are/were going down and how was your content. Your content is always great! So it's not you! Love from Vermont, I can always count on a good laugh from you, your fun! Oh my head! My bathroom is that grey/blue you picked middle row center. I had mixed a nice light robins egg blue from my own paint, but then on the wall it looked like a florida sea scape design color, so I added light grey to it and got that beautiful light denim color! I love it. Bath sheet LOL reminds me of in the movie 'heat' with Melissa Mcarthy and she calls curtains, 'window blankets'. LOL Have a beatiful day. Back again...was Charles S. saying that the state of many believers is doubt and fear? I hope not! That is the opposite of freedom that only Jesus can provide. I've been thinking about 'freedom' a lot. Really think about any situation, we are never free. Even with our homes we owe taxes, family responsibility, jobs, finding food for our bodies. What is freedom? Only Jesus can provide that!
Love the hardware and the green. The deer picture couldn’t be more perfect. Maybe switch out countertop eventually to a more natural surface. Love everything else. Pretty.
Painting is such a huge task...i hate it.. but afterwards it looks so great, right?!.. the bathroom is very charming.. lovevuour sweet attitude... Even though its a budget refresh.. I know from personal experience doing the same.. it still adds up to quite a bit.. i bet your girls feel so special having their own beautiful space.
You did a beautiful job! Have you considered just adding a large piece of wood or several wooden boards to cover up the laminate countertop? It would not cost much at all and immediately add warmth and match the aesthetic.
Just a small hack, when you have a big hole like you had in your wall, add toilet paper to the hole so the speckle has something to hold on to. Looks beautiful!
Excellent job! It's amazing what a coat of paint and new hardware can do. You've given me hope for my own bathroom until I can gut it. Lol. Thanks much! And your children are adorable. Love the way they hang out in the background. 👍❤
I think this bathroom is charming... Your Americana style home is so Cozy with all the warm textures and touches. LOVE the baskets and greenery..... I LOVE it... and thank you for sharing scripture. made my morning. :)
Love your Bathroom make over you did a wonderful job look's so great!! I know it is hard to paint with children and you are so kind with your children ,stay in the faith and love your channel !!
Kristen your bathroom makeover is beautiful. I love that the girls take part in helping as well. It is truly lovely. God bless you and your family.❤❤❤xxx
I love everything you are doing to this fun area. I love the painting with the deer. You send that to me please!:) also on the "cheap" to separate toilet and shower, hang a curtain and use tie back to open it up. You did an awesome job and i love new sink and hardware!
So nice. I love it. 🤩😍

The gold fixtures and area rug made the bathroom look richer. I love the light fixture you picked out. Great makeover.💖
Thank you! 🤗
There are paints made for metal. You could “brass/gold” paint the shower door trim.
A beautiful antique dresser and mirror would be really pretty..
Such a peaceful makeover...turned out fantastic...As a pastor thank you for sharing the word of God.....Love and prayers
Thank you! You too!
Love the hardware and the green. The deer picture couldn’t be more perfect. Maybe switch out countertop eventually to a more natural surface. Love everything else. Pretty.
Love love 💕 the green. Perfect shade and painting the towel board looks great! 💚💚💚
Thanks so much! 😊
Your bathroom turned out AMAZING!! LOVING the Green Vanity and Trim!! 💚💚💚💚 and the Vintage Pictures turned out GORGEOUS!! 🤗
Love the way it all turned out. It was a good choice in colors!
Set the basket on the table omn a box or a book...just see how it looks. You really did a great job‼️.

Look into beadboard wallpaper if you still want that look. Its applied easily and you can paint it.
