4:35 I've never seen a bike shop mechanic with such impeccably clean fingernails 😄 Cheers Josh and Nic, thank you for the watchalong. Good motivation to work on my own bike 👌All the best from the Netherlands. I hope to stop by again someday.
Thanks to Nic recommending them in video after video, all the bearings on my gravel bike are Enduro bearings now. I probably wont' maintain them properly but at least they're less likely to rust.
Good man - protecting the precious bike (components) from drop damage by sacrificing his pre-bandaged squishy toes. That’s the kind of dedication we love to see…
I am not sure whether the red thingie from SRAM (05:37) is supposed to work as a piston press tool. It says "universal bleed block" on the package. But it really works as good as the expensive piston press tool? Thank you!
Love your videos. Quick question. If you clean your rotors does this remove the buildup from the bedding in process? And do you have to, then, go through this procedure again? Thanks.
Was in Newcastle last year for almost a week and never could find Nicks old Backyard bike shop, there was a little sign by the river but for the life of me could not find it Pleased to see his has new shop now
What is it about bike mechanics outside of Italy who think they're espresso experts for some reason? Is it because everyone else making Italian-style coffee around them is even worse? WTF is a "flat white" anyway? I remember some non-Italian bellying up to a bar in Italy and demanding a latte...and being maddern' hell when they gave it to her...a glass of milk!
I’d like to do a full comparison with everything. My only issue with the Futureshock is that you are limited to one brand. The redshift can go on almost anything.
@nicvieri2627 you have a point. But I'm looking for a new bike and am curious how it will compare. If somewhat the same I can buy any brand and add the redshift.
@@MrKrekkie I’ve swapped my redshift for the RockShox XPLR fork for about three months. It was great for technical sections. But it didn’t remove vibration the same way the stem does. I think the proper suspension is designed for big bumps. I’ve gone back to redshift now.
Nice content. Camera work makes this hard to watch. Everything’s a close up of Nic that you can’t see what he’s doing. Nic’s great. But the camera work just needs some work.
Not sure what I'm more impressed with, Nic's chilled attitude to his work or the fancy pattern of oat milk on top of the coffee #baristaguru
So good to see a bloke that loves his job. Those Zipp hubs are literally dams when it comes to water, rusty from the factory.
Enjoyable to watch professional bike mechanics at work - much respect!
Thanks for watching
Nic is such a cool guy ❤
Have some self respect
@@spiral1steve explain?
Nic is a super cool guy and a really nice chap also 😊
Great stuff, nice hanging out in this shop, thanks for sharing.
A day in the life of a bike mechanic equals 30 minutes of actual work.
Accurate :)
Well the video is 37’ long so thats hard work actually 😉

Our pleasure!
Genuinely luv these vids
Most work I’ve seen Nic do this ❤️
Someone had to pick up the slack after you left
Bob Donnington used to be my mech at a Holdsworths shop in South London but I'm talking late 70s/early 80s now...
Double Espresso for the win! 👍
The videos speaks a lot for you Josh. You are a fabulous storyteller 👍
Wow, thank you!
Enjoyed your video! You guys keep up the great job!👍
I could spend hours listening to him & his advices, he is a really cool guy :)
wonderful - it´s all about loving bikes
It's always good see Nic ,after all he is the man...👍🏻
You’re too kind. Thanks mate
Cheers, Josh, really enjoyed that one.
Glad you enjoyed it
I could watch this everyday 👍
Love It!Cool Mechanic ❤️🇰🇪👏🏿
I spy the Bossi Grit SS, looks great...
Great video, Josh! It's a great peak into a day of work and shop talk.
Very good. Like these workshop videos.
Thanks Nic , Josh , and James , my Redshift stem is squeaking !!
A tiny bit of grease on the rubbers should sort it
Thanks Josh something a bit different Really Enjoyed
Glad you enjoyed it

Good choice! 👍
Good watch. Liked the pliers link up on the tatt 👍
Really enjoyable video. What characters.
Thanks Nic. Be well
So Josh, we need a listing of your bikes; and most favourite Road and Gravel bikes; even if Giant is ok!
Mega that was 🙌
Great Video Josh. Lovely to see Nic out on his Vielo R+1
Rides so smooth ❤️
I was about to say the same! We need to arrange a Vielo owners group ride!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Hahaha, finally someone who appreciates the dedication to the cause :P
Defo visiting when i'm in Newcastle.
Nics always smiling 😊 one happy guy
Josh has that effect 😋
He’s got that coffee game going on ☕️

More of this 👌🏽
Watching from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩
Briiliant when you like/enjoy your work
Love your videos. Quick question. If you clean your rotors does this remove the buildup from the bedding in process? And do you have to, then, go through this procedure again? Thanks.
You’d have to really scrub them to remove it. But I’d strongly advise against it.
Bruce Reyneke cycles… Pretoria. Now that is a blast from the past for me.
Is Nic in Strava?
When you're a bike mechanic - "A tough day at the shop" (No full cream in the fridge)
I'd love to work there with these guys.
I spied some Campagnolo goodies in one of those drawers. Deep down I reckon Nic secretly knows Campagnolo will always be King of all Groupsets.
🤣 I loved it for years. Still love Super Record Mechanical.

Hidden away. Definitely ring us next time and we will give you directions 🙌🏼
Hey Guys, what’s the main reason you prefer the Swiss stop RS35 over the exotherm? Thanks
Come for the bike mechanics, stay for the coffee making

White socks and sandals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Germans gave me loads of abuse when I had black socks on 😬😬
Sandals=NO socks!
Did you inspect the forks steerer tube on Nigel's bike?
I don't think this represents the average bike shop or mechanic
Every bike shop with a fancy espresso machine doesn’t represent the average bike shop
For the brake pad, could it just be refaced?
I mean rebedded with the bedding machine.
Possibly yes. You’ll lose some pad surface. But this customer wasn’t interested. He wanted new ones fitted and a new rotor. Just to be extra safe
I wish I knew how to repair my own bike. But what usually happens is I take it apart and can't get it reassembled.
Did you notice any play in the rear zipp hub when using aftermarket bearings? I’ve tried DT bearings in zipp hubs but it hasn’t worked well for me.
It is possible if the tolerances are slightly out. You should run a different bearing. Or get a 17mm wave washer. Super thin one.
Is James the guy who trashes bikes for fun according to jimmy and Francis?
360 rides and almost 18000km’s this year already. He’s the ultimate bike tester for us
What are they carrying in their backpack for commuting? Clothing?
Porn.
Clothing and laptop.
Clothing maybe okay but I personally hate carrying laptop so I just left it in my workplace when I used to bike commute.
@@BarePotatosame, but I need to for work. Also need to catch up with orders and builds when I get home.

Name of sandal Nic is wearing?
Quoc x Restrap Bikepacking and Adventure Sandals
Nic shilling lies about Carbon Rim Brake bikes as usual.
Real bike shops and mechanics aren’t that clean. He has time to eat ? Wow.
Is this why my bike takes so long? Mechanics too busy making movie films?
Some mechanics do take more time to check for every problem even customers aren't aware of. Ask me how I know.
