- In this episode of Fishaholic Fishing I venture out with my friend @RafaeldeOliveira in the kayaks fishing with small lures with light tackle. We end up finding loads of different species of fish like Snook, Grouper, Permit, Pompano, Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, and Croaker! It was a fun day with a lot of action and some good eating fish in the cooler!

My man got the attention span of a 3 year old, no one’s making you watch buddy! You know he's either joking or jealous. I've been out there on the Indian river and I'll tell everybody reading this that what you filmed was an amazing day out there! Just the sheer variety of fish caught was awesome and only comes during certain times of the year here in Florida. It's all about that temperature change right now.Just a great time to fish and a great place.
With all of the TH-cam fishing channels out there (and I watch most of them) This channel has been the very best for years!

Although I seldom fish with artificial's, I decided to buy a 2-pack of the VUDU shrimp and try them out in the river. First cast out by the rocks at the FP marina I hauled in a nice 17" sheep. That dang thing works great!

Just so you know Rich, the grouper you caught was a black, not gag, the former still being open to harvest if it was large enough, only the gag are closed currently.

6:48 I appreciate you calling the knot accurately -the Improved Clinch Knot which I know for a fact has been in existance since the 1960's, maybe earlier. I was using this knot since about 1968, before later on it being hijacked by "bros and dudes" renaming this knot "the Fishermans knot".

Respect for releasing that permit man. I live in the panhandle and we really don’t see permit often. This month they’ve been biting more then usual in certain spots. I’ve caught and released 4 in hopes they grow and reproduce (even tho they were legal to keep) what sucks is everyone else who’s Catching them is killing them without hesitation. Why not let them go and try to get that population better then its ever been ? Really nice to see someone else think in a bigger perspective man🤙 god bless , tight lines!

So when was this filmed? It's been COLD here recently.. 50's in the AM. surprised you tried a topwater to start.
@14:24 A few years ago I accidentally drifted on top of a manatee in my kayak, water was shallow but muddy and I didn't see it until too late. There was another one right in front of my bow. When the bottom of my kayak touched the manatee's back it was like a bomb went off underneath me, it bucked me up in the air and all I could see was a wall of water surrounding me, a giant tail to my left, and I swear the one in front of me came out of the water. Somehow I didn't flip and the 2 manatees motored off leaving boat-sized wake behind them. I have to admit it was the most terrifying 3 seconds of my life! 😆

When I was about 11, I was fishing with grandpa on the beach. I caught a pompano, super happy I look over to see grandpa running towards me as I'm releasing the fish. He kicked my butt on the beach.
Tldr; Keep your legal pompano.

Hey rich, I like your dark matter psychedelic casting rods you use with your Avets and would like to get one. Do you think it is adequate enough for small planers in sizes ranging from 1-3 for kingfish? Or would the HK casting rod be better?

Do you ever worry about crocodiles when you’re waiting while fishing?
No not really. In this area an Alligator could be around. American Crocodiles typically live further south like the very southern tip of Florida. I look out for bull sharks more than crocs or gators.
