Re: pricing those niche low pop no comp cards it just is an impossible task. Sometimes it doesn't matter at all what similar cards went for, if someone really wants something (or if the market doesn't), things can wildly underperform or overperform expectations. It really comes down to what the seller would accept and what the buyer would pay in these non fungible collectibles.
Yeah, it will always come down to the buyer/seller when it is a TRULY niche card. The idea is moreso to give an idea of what a reasonable range is (without having to jump through a ton of hoops to figure that out)
As someone who's been working in software development for about 10 years and has been in pokemon for many years this is SOOOO interesting and I'm I'm so ready for it. PLEASE keep innovating and taking this as far as possible!
Few things I keep in mind and I'm sure you do as well but I thought I'd share; even graded cards can trade in a range due to 3 main factors ; cert number/ swirls / eye appeal and centering. Even between psa 9's, many will look for the best centering they can find. When it comes to vintage cards, I've seen people pay quite a premium for better eye appeal such as multiple swirls or how the holo pattern looks in general. Cert numbers probably make the biggest diff though, I've seen vintage psa 7's go for less than modern cert psa 5's just because the old certs are cooked as hell.
Hey Eva, I absolutely love the website. I've never seen such resource for pricing cards like this. It saves a ton of time. I'd just love the interface to be a little more customizable, because I like seeing a lot of things at once in the screen and the size of the card pictures makes it impossible. Still my favorite resource I've ever seen for pricing cards, and it's also a marketplace! Congratulations!!
Thank you, that's really good feedback! I agree the cards are a bit big (especially on mobile). We'll work on a redesign of the card layout in the next couple of days!
Thank you for the ramble!! Your flow when speaking on this clearly demonstrates that you and your colleague have put a lot of thought into creating a functional product. I'm definitely going to try using the website this weekend while vending. Already finding that the algorithm is very accurate for deciding price. Looking forward to the app and misprint's next iterations!
I love this format of video! Never fails to surprise me how seamlessly you're able to direct your thoughts on the spot despite clearly having so much to say. Misprint is already shaping up to be an amazing database and I am a huge fan of being able to see the sales history and trends of all sorts of different cards. It feels good to buy and sell through a site you know was made with great care 👏
Eva! I have missed you and your videos! I always enjoy your authentic and analytical approach to collecting and investing! I am really excited by this new venture of yours and have already checked the website out. I also have caught your application video. Thank you for identifying a problem and working on a solution with your friend. This teamup sounds great and I look forward to more updates. Keep up the great work, Eva. Sent from cold, cold England.
Its so great to see you taking the initiative to improve on the tools we currently have, and how much you're enjoying it. Looking forward to the app as im a sealed collector myself. Nice!!
As a seller setting the price is definitely one of the most stressful parts for me. Thats why i love tcgplayer because i just click whichever is higher between market price and low list. And then for graded cards ive just been consigning to auctions. So i would totally use your site if it can gain some traction.
There's already several different apps that do this. But none are 100% accurate in regards to minute by minute market fluctuation. Generally, I use a combination of TCG, Pricecharting, & Alt. Before heading to shows, I create a spreadsheet of the cards I want. Whether they're raw or graded. I study & analyze several pricing platforms. Then add in the highest I'll pay & the lowest I start off with. But, you're always going to see cards you didn't do your homework on. 😂 In those situations, I walk away and check comps as fast as I can, and if there was an app where I can click 1 button and be able to maje a decision in 20 seconds, that would be a lifesaver! I'll sub to see where your business takes you two! Good luck and phuck what ppl think! If this is your passion & dream, follow your path!
I'd love it if there were a marketplace where I could place a limit order on a graded card or place or fulfill a buy order with a click of a button. That has the potential to compete with consignment services because it would fill a similar need for a buyer and seller.
I will have to wait and see what you guys put out. I don't know if your plans are original enough yet, but I 110% believe that if you can refine what your competitors are doing and add a little then you can be successful.
Really cool idea and I hope it’s a huge success. I just don’t think you can compare different style slabs and flatly say a Beckett 8.5 should be more than a PSA 7. It’s not always going to be true, say someone wants a particular graded card and they have the rest of the set in a PSA grade they probably would want to buy the lower grade PSA slab more than they want the higher grade Beckett
She's back! I need to get back on the discord. Stupid thing logged me out and I haven't reset the password yet. 😅 Congratulations on the new start up! Saw you're going on Rob's live, looking forward to that!
Wanted to chime in to the beginning rant. If the population of a psa 9 for example is 10x the population of a psa 8.5 do you still believe that a psa 9 "should" be more expensive. I agree with your points in an objective sense but there are niche examples and collectors who collect specific # grades for cards. For example some PSA 1's fetch way more money than psa 2-6's
I feel like having a hobby makes your new journey more legitimate in terms of being genuine, but I feel like you are not the most genuine seller on Whatnot. I really hope this journey can separate the two aspects of selling cards and actual honesty in terms of care condition. I wish you the best, but you’re not cut out to be a seller by any means.
Hi seawells, I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to, but if you ever bought something from me and there was an issue, shoot me a message on Instagram (@evas.binder) and I'd be really happy to help you out, thank you

Incredible work, thanks for moving the community in the right direction for collectors.
That is awesome! Good luck!
Comps are really hard for low pop cards, the shear lack of volume creates extreme volatility, it would look like the VIX.
