If the Soviets would have let him travel
@@josephw2905 yep :(
Luckily he didn't..
@@carlos.mz7 yeah I know I hate USSR for not letting him travel and sing, stupid USSR and when USSR collapsed Mr. Khil still can’t sadly travel cause it was too late since he got old now and wouldn’t able to sing now.
@@h8owroblox872 What nonsense you are talking about! Eduard Khil is a cult Soviet singer. Why does he need your America? He was adored by the entire Soviet Union. He loved his homeland very much. He went through a lot with her. When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, Eduard Gil lived in Smolensk with his mother and stepfather. Gil, along with other children, was evacuated an hour and a half before the city was captured by the Germans. I ended up in an orphanage in the village of Raevsky near Ufa. He was reunited with his parents in 1943, when Smolensk was liberated from the German occupation. When his mother found him, he was severely malnourished, was in a state of profound dystrophy and could not walk on his own. His mother cured him, but Gil later survived the post-war famine.
His singing is beautiful, no wonder his song went viral. The rest of his songs are underrated gems.
Yes.
14:06 Trololo song but in a Parallel Universe
Dude, his voice is awesome!
Truly a beautiful voice. I grew up with what I knew as the ‘trololol’ song in my teenage years, but hearing this, I am absolutely loving the lower tone going on in the last two songs❤

The Soviet Union wouldn’t let him sing the actual song lyrics because it had to do with the United States so he had to improvise
@@rebornglory7333Yet, they allowed Khil to perform one of the songs mentioning Americans (АХ, МОРЕ, МОРЕ). As for the original American cowboy lyrics, they weren’t ready to be published at the time in the 1960s and 1970s as the Cold War was still happening. The lyrics were considered naughty for Soviet censors.

There are many great singers and musicians in the West (and East) today. Most of them do not and will not get recognized. That's the nature of the beast, unfortunately.

I think Eduard Khil and Arkady Ostrovsky were the ones who did the vocalized lyrics, as they were forced to after the original lyrics were prohibited.
