At last! A video that actually show how to play a rest stroke. Got loads of books and watched tons of instructional videos and all of them assume it's a skill that you're born with!!
After watching this video the second time, I finally found out the reason why I always created some extra sounds between two notes, the reason being when I played the first rest stroke, my finger left the adjacent string BEFORE the next rest stroke was played. Doing so creates a tiny sound when my finger left the adjacent string. Thank you so much for these lessonettes, they are the 💎 jewels 💎to the beginning guitar students. Thanks Gohar, great video. I find rest stroke difficult because my nails catch on the string and slow me down. Guess I'm probably dragging my fingers like you mentioned. I will persevere.

Is it okay for your thumb to float and not to rest on a string?
