This music was composed for a British film called the Walking Stick, in which it was used as the theme tune. Many years later it was used in the Deer Hunter.
Lovely playing Gohar, your phrasing is sublime. This tune was probably the most influential piece of music in making me want to pick up the guitar in the first place. It used to be in an old BBC kids' program in the UK called 'Take Hart', with artist Tony Hart. There was a section at the end of each episode called 'The Gallery' where childrens artworks from around the country would be shown slowly with Cavatina playing in the background. I thought, even as a child, that it was stunningly beautiful. That wasn't yesterday let me say but over 50 years ago, ha ha! I still love it and sort of have my fingers around the shapes - but that opens up an even bigger can of worms... phrasing!! There are so many things to think of when playing this and your lesson and playing are steering me, and many others I hope, in the right direction. Many thanks for your video.
Great performance! I have been working on this piece for years and have never felt truly satisfied with my results but have hope for the future. Getting the melody line to sing/sustain is among my problems. This video will be a great reference point! Cheers!😀
It's difficult in sections that's for sure keeping a cantabile melody and allowing texture too breath. Lovely recording and playing I'll have too relearn this
Paola Hermosin )))...

Wonderful rendition! I have always loved the piece ever since first hearing it played by John Williams.
One of the best performances I’ve seen of that, I don’t really get a lot of pieces for classical guitar but this certainly moved me.
Wow! Probably the best version I heard.
So good Dan you 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🙏
I think this was the first grade 7 piece I ever learned.
The barre chords are still challenging even for experienced players.

A beautiful rendition Gohar. Personally I would have preferred a slower tempo. I am relearning it with much joy after hearing your wonderful playing.
John Williams also plays it beautifully and at the same tempo you do. I would still have preferred a slower version. 😊😊
Amei, Que Seus abençoe, cheguei até me imocionar di tanta belesa de voce e sua guitarra muito lida
very good, she can tell me what kind of strings and what kind of tension it has
thank you
I believe in that video I have RC Recital strings in normal tension, but now I know Knobloch double silver/ QZ Nylon
Beautifully played as always Gohar.
Lindo!
Wonderful. Well done. Is there any reverb on your recordings? I think yes. Am I right?
Yes there is
Did you use rest or free strokes for main melody? Very good and clear intonation!
Mostly, yes... 🙂
❤️👏🙏
🥰🥰🥰🥰супер!
👏❤❤❤
I admit you look more lovely playing this piece..
Fantastic well executed , but... a bit too fast for my taste. It looses expressions and sensitivity..
Lots of squeaking.
🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏
Hej, tack tack🙏🙏🙏
