UPDATE: I have a new video testing 5 different spray paints for a natural wicker look and showing you the best and easiest options! Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/CGBrdkh9SPw/w-d-xo.html
I am painting wicker to look natural. Liked your method, but when I got to the store, I pulled an audible. Used Krylon Hammered Copper. It came out really cool - textured by design and the metallic aspect gives it a "glow" like natural wood. Highly recommend for anyone that wants to go with just one type of paint. Caveat is it looks like a darker walnut-colored wicker than Amy's
"Pulled an audible" haha- you sound just like my husband! This is awesome- I just bought a 3-piece set of wicker that I'm going to repaint and use the pieces separately. I think I'll try this color you suggested on the shelf. Keep an eye out for that video. I'll give you credit ;-)
This was an awesome video! I am getting ready to paint my wicker to the nutmeg when your video popped up! 👏 I will definitely do your method. This looks amazing! It has such texture to it. Great job and thank you!
This is genius! Thank you for making this video. I have a reddish stained wicker piece I thrifted and want it more of this natural color. Definitely using your technique. ❤️
Do you prefer white, dark, or natural wicker? Here's a link to my previous video about wicker that features painted and whitewashed finishes: th-cam.com/video/Zx8QZeH6ylE/w-d-xo.html
I've done this using taupe/camouflage spray paint and then going over it with Waverly brown wax. You could also use gel stain. Stain works great - but start with a light color like a tan or even white. You're right - it easy an easy project. :)
If you wanted more of a grey wash, what would you recommend? I'm trying to make them go better with my new natural white oak island. Don't want any yellow tones.
Great video! Gave me a little more confidence for my project at hand. I want to repaint this Henry Link wicker dresser that is white and has turned more yellow in some areas, back to a off-white color for my little girls room… could you recommend what paint or spray you try first?
Sorry for the delayed response! You might try Rustoleum Painter's Choice in Heirloom White, or Ivory. Check it out online and see if either color is what you want. Thanks for watching!
This was great! I’m wondering if I can use this general thought process to try and get an headboard I bought to look more natural or even neutral in tone. Right now its very 🍊🤮
I've this really pretty wicker cabinet, but I've just began this journey, it's colour tho is like creoso and heavy thick clear shiny vanish. can I put slick stick over it then paint it ?
I think that will work but I'd try a spot with just spray paint first- especially if it's the kind I used in the video. It sticks to most surfaces, even shiny ones. If it works it would be much easier than doing the Slick Stick first. Good luck!

For me, it depends on the room and the light available in the room. Cool video!
@@carencooper2287 good point- the amount of light makes a huge impact! Thanks for watching CC ;-)

Great tip! That sounds like a good combination of materials- I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing!!
Ty good info! I actually am looking for & wanting to accomplish the lighter color , so this was very helpful!
Looks great, I can see this on a piece that might have (treated) mold stains or spotting also

Benny Hill freak out 😂 who in 2024 knows Benny Hill
I can't find Craft Smart brand in Fawn. Can anyone recommend a similar color in a brand that Walmart carries (Apple Barrel or FolkArt)?
