James I’ve only just discovered your channel and it’s inspiring. Like your honesty and realism. Been able to push past having 1 reasonably successful business and becoming an entrepreneur and taking risks is something I’m finding difficult now I’m mid 30’s with a 1 year old and another baby on the way. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge
Thanks Carl, really kind of you to say. If you love the youtube channel. You’ll love my podcast too…. I’ll put a link in, congrats on the new arrival to be! Https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/james-sinclairs-business-broadcast-podcast/id1495894637
I love all your videos and how real you are, and putting the medium T-shirt on and leaving that in the video made me giggle and makes you even more endearing 😂
James, I'm f-king devouring your content. Love anything and everything entrepreneurship/business. One suggestion: Why don't you convert your business broadcast podcast into its own TH-cam channel, alongside it being on the podcast channels? Even if it's a still image per podcast episode... won't take long to do and means more eyes/ears on who you are/what you do
We are planning to do this, we even discussed it just yesterday. The channel is already set up…… James Sinclair podcast TH-cam have also just released a podcast feature and we’re looking into that too.
Thank you for your content. I really find it interesting. Trying to run my business is hard and keeping happy everyday is hard. Sometimes I put on a brave face for my employees and it works. You have changed the game in the business world showing the real day to day reality of business. Keep up the amazing work thank you. I have changed so many processes in my business from the tips in your videos all I can say it’s working. Thank you
I really appreciate your comment and thank you. My hope and aim above all else; is that the videos we make, really help and inspire people. It’s a tough gig being a business owner so I’m glad we helped you.
Took my daughter to Rossi’s before going to see the Panto at Cliff’s. Loved it, staff were lovely and helpful and food was great. Would say to help with opening times.. it was incorrect on google my business, said it closes an hour earlier than what it did. I also didn’t know what a great menu you had can you advertise the menu more? I thought it would just be ice cream and maybe pancakes and waffles.Maybe also have more pancake options as there was only one pancake option (lemon and sugar) and no waffles, that can work well. And I am sure you will change this, but the loo is really yucky. Loved the christmas decorations outside such a good job done ! Fab videos! Thank you!
i found your channel yesterday and have not stopped watching. Your content is absolutely brilliant & you learn so much from every video . Small business owner up in the north east england
I find it fascinating hearing some of the revenue and profit figures. These are great businesses but it takes money and guts to get it to its full potential
I’m an ex-entrepreneur (more of a Mark Tilbury than a you), things would have gone better if we’d had great advice like yours and his. Correct to focus on the right audience than a big random one.
7:00 yeah stick to business only content please. I use to watch a lot of strike it big eposides but he's turning into a general "monsesaying advice" and lifestyle stuff. He also interviews a lot of people I feel like are course selling scammers. I kinda lost interest. The best thing about your channel is just the frank and honest feedback not trying to gas yourtself up to sell seminars. It was refreshing to see you admit that the ice cream trade show had better ice cream than yours. Most business coaches on youtube would never praise a competitor for doing something better.
Good videos, surprised the channel isnt more popular, but I imagine it is a genuine niche. A refreshing change from the 'influencer' style content. (or crypto bros ;-)
I live within 3 miles of Lee Valley Farm Park and I had no idea what it was, where it is or what events go on there - I have 3 kids too, only by watching your videos do I now know!
Great videos, I’m not a business owner but find some of the information helpful as a manager. Have you thought of doing videos/smaller section of your university site for: management skills, communication techniques, negotiations etc. I know you touch on a few in particular videos but dedicated resource to it will be helpful and possibly expand out into more general audience. Cheers.
James, We visited Odds Farm and my daughter is now the proud owner of a Teddy Tastic polar bear :) The sand art Christmas decoration was fun too , although it looks like they bought that from a company called "kids bee happy" rather than your gig?! Magic trick set looks cool, let me know if you'd like me to look over your amazon listing (if you take it online). It's what I specialise in. Do you make customers pay to feed the animals? I always wondered how much profit these play farms made on pellet feed. Seems a smart way to increase profit while lowering overheads and making sure the animals are well fed in the process.
@James Sinclair fair enough. Mind you, I'm sure I've paid a good few bob for pellet food before at some places. That must work out to be a lot of money over the course of the day! Longleat charged a pound or two for a tiny pot of fish for their seals, and they sold out of fish very quickly on the boat ride I was on. I suppose they're able to regulate the amount more easily that way.
Merry Xmas James. My son Alfie was born in 04 and I recall him having a party at Partyman World at Lakeside and you was actually entertaining. So good to see how well you have done. I would say that I now have six year old twins and they had a party at Lakeside Partyman earlier this year and it was bad. Everything looks old and tired. Worn and tatty. I know your empire is growing all the time but you might want to put some of that cash into the experience there even if it is doing well financially
I’m very sorry to hear this. We’ve only just got back on our feet after 18 months of temp trading. ( CV 19) We constantly invest back into all our sites- but I shall personally take a trip to take a look myself. Sorry we let you down.
25% off on certain days , yes text customers or post it on facebook now and then but nothing puts people off more than a constant barrage of messages from the same establishment and sell your farm , too much competition , people have no need for another one and christmas themed park days have a terrible reputation
I know you must pay people to decorate but that seems too much on the front of Rossi surely a huge garland with red bows and other bits would look smart, Maybe a big Christmas tree outside with a Rossi star 😁that right now seems way too much and doesn’t blend well
@@JamesSinclairEntrepreneur it used to be a nightclub, slap bang in the middle of Bolton.. also has an extra 1500sqft to the first floor.. previously used as ‘staff accommodation’
You're absolutely right about the 1 or 10 argument and needing to hire middle management but if you have 2 or 3 you cannot afford it. In fact, you might actually be financially better off having 1 (or perhaps 2) than having 3 or 4 because the marginal income from the additional units is swallowed up by the need to invest in more capex and yet the returns are diminishing at those levels until you push on and get bigger. The risk though is that it is really hard to find the right things to buy and sometimes I think people buy the wrong things out of desperation or even a sense of necessity. No, I don't get it right all the time either 😮 but I realise this particular point is where we were and having trimmed some fat and non performing units post covidbollocks then we're probably back there in no man's land and need to decide whether to regrow or to consolidate into fewer but more individually profitable revenue streams. The jury is still out on how we do that !
Your inspiring mate. Youve changed the way i think anout business models and helping gwt after it.

Thanks 🙏 glad you enjoy it!
You're a pleasure to watch James, obviously extremely shrewd business wide without the bullshit that infests most online business advisers.

Great video as usual, and thank you for sharing your insights. The honesty is much appreciated about things not always working out.

God, I'd love to spend a day with you, James, I have so much to learn!
I live in Basildon and haven't read/heard anything about Rossi ice cream parlour. Everything I know comes from your videos
You’ll have to go!

Another great video James. Thank you.

I'm in IT Managed Services and man it's a fantastic industry to be in especially with Cyber security such a worry at the moment.
Hi James. So you decided to take that Norwich place under your wings. Fabulous. Just one question: have you got something like craft centres for kids?
Yes - we do arts and crafts at our venues, Partyman world.
Great video information. James did you buy the shopping centre. Paul 🇮🇪
When will your buy a business day be available on your web site ?
You can get it with my team. If you DM me on Insta or Linkedin , I’ll get it arranged for you.
I'd love that magic trick box
Can you do a video about vehicles- should you buy or lease them?

Kids Bee Happy is my company/brand LOL
Odds owners are good friends of mine
On food. We just include it for free so we don’t over feed the animals

Do you do franchises of the playcenter and nursery business? I have a 9500sqft space in Bolton city Center.. can we do something together?
Let’s meet. I absolutely think we could. 9.5k might be a bit too small.

Should look into social media more for Rossi, tiktok making the ice cream, showing really simple but satisfying videos will get the brand going online
Absolutely- in the pipeline for 2023
If your looking to take your Facebook ads to the next level, I actually run a Facebook ad agency, if you would want to have a chat
Invite young influencers from the local area. Instagram, tiktok, youtube etc...Invite them over for the day. They make a video...bla bla bla £££
