In this video, we will talk about “Why my excel file size is huge and how to reduce Excel file size (हिंदी में)”.

• Reasons for big file size
1. Unwanted cell colours, formatting or Conditional Formatting
2. Unintentional use of Columns/Rows
3. Presence of unwanted objects in the sheet
4. High resolution or unwanted images
5. Presence of unnecessary hidden sheets
6. Huge Data
• Save the file in Binary i.e. “.XLSB” file extension
• Pros.
Much smaller file size (up to 90%)
Open, saving, closing becomes much smoother
• Cons.
Can’t say it has macros or not.
Hard to open up in non-Microsoft tools e.g. Mobile apps.
Not supported by 2003 & earlier versions
• How to efficiently work in Excel files with Huge Data?
Keep your data sorted while working with Lookup function (this will speed up the process)
Use once concerned ranges in function like Vlookup or CF. Don't refer to entire columns or rows
Disable automatic calculation mode
use Power Query
• Bonus Tip: How to find a sheet’s file size?
Save it as a webpage and it will tell us the size contributed by each sheet.

Hello Lokesh,
thanks for such a very informative and practical video. in fact i was disturb with one of my excel file on which almost everyday i used to work.....in the starting its size was 3 mb and gradually it increased up to 32 mb....i was very much disturb because it was taking lots of time to save.. after watching your this video...i found that there were 19 hidden sheets which were increasing file size and when i deleted one by one...its size came back to 3 mb as usual :)

Sir, please help me.
I am 12th passed out and pursuing BSC from open University and learning basic computer. I am interested in Excel because of you. I got to know that after learning excel and power bi is better option to earn near to 1 lakh per month.
I want 9 to 5 job only as my interest in other things as well so l want only peaceful job. I also want to live in Canada . So l decided to be data analyst, data scientist . But l don't have exact path. Right now my goal is to learn basic and advanced excel . But after that what should I do ?? How can I get my goal which is 9 to 5 job in foreign country, and handsome salary.

Hi Mohit, i believe in one thing that gaining indepth knowledge on a right skill will help you achieving you life goals. So, i woukd suggest that first focus on getting indepth knowledge and then also get certified in the same skills. Once you do so then opportunities will knock your door.
