It's not just the ink window, if it's like any other safari the bottom also has small holes in it and I'm assuming that is for choking hazard purposes, if it's their entry pen they might have to consider younger people using it. The rollerball version seems to have the same holes at the bottom of the barrel too so it's not like they can use that one either.

I'd been passing on the ECO until there was one included with a recent order by mistake. I opened it, tried it, and I love it! I emailed your customer care team to offer to pay for it if they had a way to invoice it. Your customer care emailed me back, allowing me to keep the pen free of charge. Looks like your team is well set up to promote customer loyalty! I offer this publicly to assuage my conscience. If you invoice me, I will pay! And please thank your team for being awesome!

Hey Goulet crew, I'm a recent inductee to the fountain pen hobby (got into it earlier this year). I've bought a number of pens from you guys and have had a great experience and pleasure with every order, from the lower priced pens I got at the start to some gold nibs I've ordered more recently.
My first demonstrator was my transparent Pilot explorer which was a real game changer for me with fountain pens. I'm a receptionist at a vet clinic that still uses paper copies of medical charts with handwritten notes so there is a lot of writing I do at work every day and I loved how great this pen performed. For me it was more comfortable to hold than my metropolitan and the fine nib on the explorer performed better on our terrible paper than my metropolitan's medium. It was also the first pen I put a converter in and I LOVED showing off to my coworkers how the ink sloshed around inside the con 70.
A bit later in the year I noticed another demonstrator on sale on your site which I am super proud to say is my Taccia Spotlight clear demonstrator with an extra fine nib and holy smokes what a pen!! Having lived in the world of the metropolitans, explorers and safaris this pen had an enormous wow factor for me the second I even held it. The step up in quality of material and nib performance put this pen in a league I had never been in before and honestly I'm a bit surprised this pen hasn't gotten more hype and love from the community. I totally understand that demonstrators with converters and completely transparent caps aren't everyone's cup of tea but I love this pen's aesthetics! I've swapped out the converter it came with for a gold trim sailor converter that IMO complements the beautiful two-tone nib better and have it inked with sailor manyo kikyou. This is THE pen I'm taking with me to work every day and I absolutely cannot believe I snagged it from you guys for like $80.
In summary: Demonstrators hold a dear place in my heart because these two pens are what really pushed my passion for this hobby to the place it is today and anyone in the comments reading this who has never heard of the spotlight should definitely give it look!
Thank you Goulet pen team for all your hard work and amazing content you put out on this channel. You all are my go-to pen store for a very well deserved reason!

The TWSBI Eco was my third fountain pen, but actually my second demonstrator. It's... Fine? It can be a little finicky on certain papers like Rhodia/Clairefontaine. Could be I need to adjust or replace the nib. I'm not that worried about it though, because that pen is really more about playing around with colorful inks since it's so easy to empty and refill. I also find the grip section just a hair too narrow for my taste.
My favorite demonstrator and comfiest daily writer to this point is the Moonman/Majohn C1. I basically just skipped the converter and eyedroppered it right off the bat because it looks so strikingly good with a barrel full of ink. And it holds an absolutely massive volume, so one fill will last me potentially months with the fine nib I have on it.

Guess I'm going to have to break down and get a Preppy! Know where I might buy one for a good price? 😉Oh, wait. That's right. You handle them, don't you? As it happens you also handle Taccia, although it appears you now carry only their top-of-the line products. That's a shame because late last year I bought a Taccia Spotlight Clear Demonstrator with a music nib made for Taccia by Sailor from you. I was reluctant to pull the trigger on it, even at your highly discounted price at the time of $72 because I wasn't a fan of clear demonstrators. The ones with which was then familiar were made with plastic that just didn't look very good. The Taccia changed my mind. Its plastic is clear and solid as crystal and the nib is fantastic--every bit the equal of TWSBI. The build quality is exceptional for a pen at that price. In short, I'm delighted with it and wish you still offered it so others could discover it.

My favorite is the TWISBI 580 Rose Gold. It regularly makes other "best of" lists, so not surprising.
I bought the completely translucent model of the Sailor 1911s when I was newer to fountain pens. It's my least favorite and honestly if I wasn't so green to fountain pens at the time, I probably would have returned it.
    1. The 'butt' of the pen is seemingly attached with glue. I know this because the end of my pen has a bunch of glue globs on the inside that are highly visible and irritating.
    2. Clear pens that are converter pens aren't my jam. Go with a piston or vacuum filler.
    3. This model was the only one that had a broad nib. I thought it would be a good match for shimmer inks with a larger ink flow, but in reality Sailor broad is like a medium on other models so I haven't found that it's a great pen for more 'exotic' inks.
