Mal was an unspeakable monster far less human than the most evil people who have ever walked this planet. He was more alien than any mythical aliens in the setting and yet more human at the same time. A very interesting and complex character, and ultimately the saviour of humanity. A sick and deranged patriarch who is quite likely a significant genetic component to all the Astartes and weirdly the moral hand of the God Emperor, (morality taught to a God from a horrific monster and yet never afraid to point out both of their numerous flaws/faults/crimes and how they need to commit another million before they can let better people complete their journey).

Malcador was every bit as powerful of a pysker as Magnus, but Malcador knew about the evils of the warp so would not cross certain lines that Magnus had no issue crossing. Magnus was more into sorcery and that's where his power laid, in spells and sorcery. While Malcador had just raw brute pysker power, like the emperor demonstrated numerous times. They were both like half of the emperor's psychic power. Magnus had the sorcery, spells and talent, while Malcador had the pure unquestionable raw psychic power and intellect. But don't get me wrong! Malcador had a vast knowledge of ancient spells and sorcery, some that Magnus had never known about. Magnus's greatest feat was his astropathic nuclear missile to Terra that destroyed the webway wards. Malcador easily overpowered and almost killed the most powerful primarch with just pure pysker power, and even more impressive, he made an entire moon invisible, than made it disappear from reality itself, by actually sending it into the warp with a bubble of reality around it, completely shielded from both the immaterial and material, with a secret portal the only way to get there. Not even the emperor accomplished something as psychically/magically as powerful as that during his mortal life.

I like the theory that Malcador was the actual Emperor of Mankind, and who we think of as The Emperor is actually his first and greatest creation: physically stronger and better fit to rule a military empire. Malcador fits the wise and powerful psycher, oldest human, conglomerate of ancient shaman souls concept better. Subtly advising and guiding humanity from the sidelines inconspicuously, rather than being a 12 foot tall giant subconsciously gaslighting everyone into thinking they are normal

SPOILERS! If you're talking about E vs Horus, kind of yes and kind of no. He was in the sense that he could have gone Super Saiyan and basically become a Chaos god to end Horus. He, however, chose to stay human and fought Horus with everything he had. Horus was fuelled by the full might of Chaos undivided at that point, so his primarch form was but a pale shadow in comparison.

I knew how powerful this guy was just by reading the stuff about the Grey Knights. Bro took a moon, an entire celestial body and cast it into the Warp so the Grey Knights could do what they needed to do and had it brought back at an appropriate time long after his own death. I'm not that steeped in 40k lore, but I think the only psyker more powerful than Malcador the Sigilite was the Emperor himself
The interesting thing here isnt malcador, its the fact horus still had love and respect for at least one of the lost primarchs. The more we learn the more it becomes apparent at least one of them died as a matter of neccessity not principle.

When Fulgrim killed Ferrus Manus. He presented Ferrus's head to Horus. Horus would talk to and confide in Ferrus's head when he was worried because Ferrus was a good friend and brother to Horus.
I always liked how to show his power in the warp, whenever Malcador speaks with the Emperor in it, he is shown as a young and powerful king, at odds with his material presence. Meanwhile on the opposite end, the Emperor who is depicted as a young and very powerful god-like being is shown to be a feeble old man, barely holding onto life.
My impression of this scene was hesitation from Malcador. From all his wisdom and experience he knew that the future was set, that Horus was destined to rebel since the beginning, but he had the power and opportunity to end Horus and all the suffering and destruction he would cause right there.

If you're talking about E vs Horus, kind of yes and kind of no. He was in the sense that he could have gone Super Saiyan and basically become a Chaos god to end Horus. He, however, chose to stay human and fought Horus with everything he had. Horus was fuelled by the full might of Chaos undivided at that point, so his primarch form was but a pale shadow in comparison.
@@slow_runner Also there is lore that the Emperor did hold back all the way up to seeing Sanguinius dead at Horrus's feet. He did hold back hoping that he could save Horus and turn him back without having to kill him. Horus was his favorite son and he wanted to be able to keep him.

I knew how powerful this guy was just by reading the stuff about the Grey Knights. Bro took a moon, an entire celestial body and cast it into the Warp so the Grey Knights could do what they needed to do and had it brought back at an appropriate time long after his own death. I'm not that steeped in 40k lore, but I think the only psyker more powerful than Malcador the Sigilite was the Emperor himself

Malcador was literally two seconds away from ending the Heresy before it even began.
And Malcador was so respected by the Emperor, he could have possibly gotten away with it.
The interesting thing here isnt malcador, its the fact horus still had love and respect for at least one of the lost primarchs.
The more we learn the more it becomes apparent at least one of them died as a matter of neccessity not principle.

I always liked how to show his power in the warp, whenever Malcador speaks with the Emperor in it, he is shown as a young and powerful king, at odds with his material presence. Meanwhile on the opposite end, the Emperor who is depicted as a young and very powerful god-like being is shown to be a feeble old man, barely holding onto life.

My impression of this scene was hesitation from Malcador. From all his wisdom and experience he knew that the future was set, that Horus was destined to rebel since the beginning, but he had the power and opportunity to end Horus and all the suffering and destruction he would cause right there.
It is no wonder the Emperor chose Malcador the as his closest ally. That would be a hell of an enemy for even him to have to contend with I'd imagine.
