Hi Kristina, nice video. I feel identified with each of the points you mentioned here. I think these are present in day-to-day project management activities. It will be great to see a video on how to counterattack these items and how to get better. Keep going the nice job.

Project management is challenging in itself, no need to disencourage us even further :))) I'm sooo grateful that I didn't make it in my first endevours for the project management role! 🤣And decided to switch to another direction instead. Nope, thank you, not tough enough. 😁

Becoming a project manager was the worst thing I’ve ever done. Put me in a deep depression. Learned a lot about myself though.

Now that I look back on it the truth is I never underwent the proper training. It was an opportunity that I got and felt it would be foolish to not take the promotion and pay raise that came with it. I was thrown into a 10 million dollar project with so many issues it gives me anxiety just thinking about it. When I realized that I had no clue where to start or what the proper process was I began to study for the PMP in hopes to learn about the processes and how to bring organization to everything involved in the project I became overwhelmed with all of these moving pieces that I was just putting out fires everyday. Just winging it! My family life suffered and I began to have anxiety attacks. I would show up to meetings and be humiliated because everything fell on me. My bosses knew I was put in a bad position because the contracts were written with loop holes that our subcontractors took advantage of and the upper tier contractor had no mercy since that was our issue. What they bought from us we didn’t buy from our subs. Anyways before I have another anxiety attack. I quit. Currently I’m in the process of deciding what career path to take but being that I started the process of the PMP I’m looking to continue with achieving that goal since there’s so much useful things that can be used no matter what career path I choose.

@@lubergene9695 that's tough! that could have been smoother if they could provide some mentorship or support to introduce at least the best practises and company processes in terms of the project delivery.. on the other side, you got a great experience example in your portfolio🙂 Also, having experience in fails including to me sounds more beneficial rather than having just fine vanilla projects behind, and I bet most of the recruiters would say the same. Fails are good from the hands on expertise perspective as you already know how far the things can go and you will not stay frozen if the sky will fall next time. Just record the lessons and define what you could have done differently if you are there again but with your current experience. And 2thumbs up for not dropping your PMP journey in the middle 👍👍
