It's not about how you fall but how you get back up that stays in people's minds. Klay suffered an injury in the finals against the Raptors that took him out for the following season, suffered another injury that took him out for another season and came back somewhat diminished but was still an integral to help GS win another chip. KD also suffered an injury during the same finals that saw him took 2 years off and he came back basically the same great player despite now being 2 years older. Simmons after that series with the Hawks, demanded a trade from a #1 seeded Sixers, sat out till he got traded, cited mental issues so he didn't have to play once he got to Brooklyn, and despite not playing basketball for almost over a year somehow has back issues to avoid the playoffs and part of the next season. When he did come back, he posted single digits in the box score. While I know correlation does not imply causation, but KD and Kyrie ended up leaving that same season. If you fall and manage to rise back up, the fall adds positively to your rise. In Simmons' case, he fell and fell even further.
he does have mental issue's and people shouldn't laugh about that stuff and and he demanded a trade because his own coach said he couldn't be their #1 point guard if they wanted a champion ship and he had a herniated disc and it wasn't 100% but he still played and injured it again this year
Lets just totally ignore the heriated disk operation, and the fact that he and every media outlet was advised it would take 18 months to fullly recover from, we are 16 months from it now. The reality is the nets possibly rushed him in way too quick, just like they did with Harden and his hamstring in 2021. Anyone who watched the nets at all last year could clearly see Simmons is in a good deal of discomfort often standing up on the sidelines, or laying down and stetching, forget the shooting form, his naturally exteme athletic ability was far below normal. Personallly I hope he has a great season, so creators like this one have to eat there words and find someone else to discredit.
Lonzo ball is proof enough for me on how Ben Simmons never worked on improvement, from one of the worst shooters in the league to one of the best right before his injury, Simmons has had years to practice and improve and rather than improve has only regressed, and as someone who grew up wishing I could make the NBA it’s infuriating watching an all time talent and player like him who had the potential to be LeBron ruin his career the way he has, he still has a chance of redemption he’s young enough and I’m wishing not as a fan but for the sake of the god given talent he has that he’s quietly putting the work in right now and comes back better than he ever was but looks like right now that’s just wishful thinking.
I realised the other day that I’ve taught myself to have a semi reliable jumpshot in the last year and a half at 27 and only playing pickup and shooting around every now and again. Makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with Ben if he’s got NOTHING after all this time
@@Bearsfan15654 no actually I HAVE and is EXACTLY the reason why I say he’s never worked on improving, he hasn’t improved at all in his jump shot and has actually regressed insanely, I know how hard it is to improve in a sport because it takes hard work and a lot of time but he clearly hasn’t

I'm sure he'd listen to those who are trying to improve his game, but he doesn't have to because he's richer than god. Talented, but he's not motivated. And there you have it, Ben Simmons.
Personally, I think it's the fact that things were easy for him combined with the media overhyping him at the start of his career. Yes, he was an excellent prospect. But they built him up, calling him the 'next Lebron' and all this other crap. I don't even like Lebron, but how are you going to compare a rookie to one of the most accomplished players to ever play the game? That's like having someone graduate from West Point and saying 'oh, this guy is the next General Patton'. It makes zero sense. But then, the media will always overreact because that's how they generate ratings, not by doing actual, honest assessments.
Funny thing is Lebron was hyped up way more than Ben ever was, and even kind of disappointed a bit his first couple years by missing the playoffs completely (one season even ended in collapse) in a weak ass Eastern Conference. The big difference between him and Ben though is that for all of Lebron's ego when something doesn't go his way, he rolled up his sleeves and went back to work. Ben goes on press tours telling people this years going to be different and how his previous failures are everyone else's fault.
Exactly, he can't even shoot at all so idk why they were even comparing him to LeBron. In fact it's crazy to me how some basketball players can't even shoot the ball when that's the thing you should know how to do.

Ben is like buying a 50,000$ puzzle, then getting home, putting it together, and then noticing a piece right in the middle is missing.
He needs to play like Giannis and a team needs to be built around him like he is Giannis. It's obvious he has the potential but the problem is he doesn't have the mindset.
Ben didn't play well last season because he wasn't fully recovered from BACK SURGERY, people love to kick you when your down, I'm a Sixers fan, I've watched every game Ben has played, and you can tell he didn't have his speed and explosion back, I'm predicting he will have a bounce back year and silence the haters, so when he's back to All Star form please make a video on that
Sounds plausible, "Ben didn't play well last season because he wasn't fully recovered from BACK SURGERY, " that it's an injury causing his decline. Underrated comment. I don't watch basketball btw but was looking for a comment like this, besides the obvious comments like "he doesn't like to play".
For whatever reason, he just stopped giving 100%. He just coasted. It doesnt matter he cant shoot well from anywhere, or whatever. He could compensate for it all, if he just gave at least 80-90% most of the time. So really, there was a huge lack of effort and that is something, you cant compensate with any skill, at least not in the NBA.
If he gains 20 pounds of muscle maybe he can play the 5 as a pseudo 6th man but the stagnation in his game has probably done too much damage for him to become a somewhat respectable player on offense as a wing or a guard.
'If you want to consider him a rookie'. For the last 40 plus years if a player missed their first season they were still a rookie when they did take th court. Blake Griffin was the same situation really a few years earlier. Guess Larry Bird and David Robinson didn't really win RoTY either as both didn't win in their draft year. Simmons is classic tale of what happens when a player is drafted into a terrible environment for development. Spurs turn unknown players into all stars., sixers turns stars into the butt of jokes. Simmons not playing, embiid unable to play in the playoffs, fultz forgetting how to shoot, everyone wanting to leave etc. Toxic environment. If Simmons manages to be healthy and play, he can carve out atleast a good role player spot in the NBA much like Rubio did. He may never be as good as his potential could have been but he still better than half the rosters anyway.
He aint even gotta learn how to shoot. All he gotta do as a defensive stopper is get on dudes (PAUSE), drive to the basket everytime he wants to score. make free throws and pass to shooters. He'd be damn near unstoppable.
nah man, everyone knows the Kardashian curse. Now Timothee Chalamet is getting the curse. Those guys could get any chick. And they all fall for a Kardashian, it's terrible.
haven’t been to interested in basketball in years. recently picked it back up and i am just so shocked to see how simmons turned out. i really thought he would be one of the goats lol
It's not even the shooting that was problem for me. This man literally was rewarded with being the number one pick when his team sucked and he made himself ineligible for awards because of his grades
With effort and his size, he didnt need to be able to shoot, unless free throws so you dont get exploited. But, he shows ZERO effort. And that is the problem. He is like a figure skater who's afraid to fall, so he never jumps. Yeah, you aint going to fall, but also you aint winning anything.
Think about this. Simmons, Okfar, Fultz. The Sixers drafted with top picks. To me, they all seemed to want the NBA lifestyle but didn’t want to work for it. The bottom line is, you can have all the excuses you want, once you take a paycheck people expect results. Or at least effort.
Good summary. I am seeing quite a lot of top talents in basketball and football that are being wasted, because of the lack of hard work. Is this a generation problem? Or has this happened regularly before my time?
Imagine simmons with a patrick beverly, westbrook, hell a kobe mindset? He had the tools to be an all time great. But maybe thats why he never developed those talents, he thought it would just.. happen. Like many have said, he likes the lifestyle, he doesnt love the game
Despite what you may think, Simmons has way too many fans who think he will get back to his dominant point forward self. I've just had enough, he gets talked about WAY too much, poor old Josh Giddey another aussie who is light years better than simmons right now barely gets talked about in the media cause of damn markets. Ben Simmons needs to be ignored, cause he does not deserve our attention anymore
Ben didn't even need a killer jumpshot to be a superstar. Imagine Demar Derozan, but he can pass with the best, rebound, and play DPOY-caliber defense. All this man needed was a reliable 15-footer, a 75% free throw, and that's it. Also, Coach Nick and BBallBreakdown points out that Ben is one of the best roll-men in the game.
It's impressive how he was able to hide the secret that he couldn't shoot for so long. Long enough to make it all the way to the NBA and be awarded a huge contract without being exposed. But now that his secret is out, He should quit and join the CIA.
His style of play is essentially outdated on top of his mental health issues. I miss Ben on Philly even tho the pass happened. He was my fav point guard in the league at one point if you don’t wanna count harden or lebron
I love how "mental health" is now a legitimate excuse (because the NBA is currently so soft, women are comfortable applying their propaganda/buzzwords to the league) for multimillionaire basketball players whenever they suck. Rodman is like 6'6", possessed a fraction of Simmons' talent, couldn't shoot, used to rock dresses, go to Vegas for a few days instead of training, then come back and put in limitless effort on defense. Simmons is a hyped up front runner, and as soon as he got that contract, any pretense of him being a professional went out the window. Dude just wants to be rich and famous, teammates and ultimately the league that gave him the contract be damned.
Mmm his placid attitude maybe a bit Aussie?? Luke Longley ( Bull’s Center) struggled with his lack of aggression too! Australian’s are generally very laidback, even during total crises haha:)
Crazy how millionaire basketball players can't even shoot the ball in BASKETBALL 🏀. if he would of focused on free throws and a middy he would of been way better.
Went to the bulls nets game last year where KD scored like 47. Legit watched this man dribble the hall up the court every possession, hand the ball off to kd or kyrie immediately, set a screen and stand in the corner lmao. Literally almost every possession. Dudes an embarrassment

How’s this post working out for you? Old Benny boy spent more time on the red carpet at the MET Gala than he did on the basketball court in 2024..
Don't hate, those traffic cones go HARD.
Imagine another timeline where ben simmons plays rugby lmao
Trae Young da Ben Simmons stopper💀
🔥 Gerald Henderson Jr next 👀
He aint even gotta learn how to shoot. All he gotta do as a defensive stopper is get on dudes (PAUSE), drive to the basket everytime he wants to score. make free throws and pass to shooters. He'd be damn near unstoppable.
Well considering he doesn't actually play the question is moot.
Music at 2:00?? I’ve been trying to find this beat for weeks 😭😭

@@swishcountyproductions thank you so much man
The Australian team didn't want him either.
As a 6ers fan I was mad about it, but then the mental health aspect came into play, then I just wished him a new start and he seemed to just disappear
The first warning sign was his dating a Kardashian. And I got lambasted for suggesting it.
nah man, everyone knows the Kardashian curse. Now Timothee Chalamet is getting the curse. Those guys could get any chick. And they all fall for a Kardashian, it's terrible.
@@maxmeier532 Somebody brought up Devin Booker. My response? Just wait.
haven’t been to interested in basketball in years. recently picked it back up and i am just so shocked to see how simmons turned out. i really thought he would be one of the goats lol
All these scouts and media pundits pumping his stock, show you how flawed the way they see basket ball.
How can you hype up a guard that can't shoot ?
It's not even the shooting that was problem for me. This man literally was rewarded with being the number one pick when his team sucked and he made himself ineligible for awards because of his grades
With effort and his size, he didnt need to be able to shoot, unless free throws so you dont get exploited. But, he shows ZERO effort. And that is the problem. He is like a figure skater who's afraid to fall, so he never jumps. Yeah, you aint going to fall, but also you aint winning anything.
I would love the nets to put him at point and see what he happens atleast for a few games
And they compared him to Giannis.. tsk tsk.
He went from being a potential magic to being less than a Draymond. Talk about wasted potential hope this season he can prove everyone wrong.
Or has this happened regularly before my time?
what song is that at 5:52?!!!
Imagine simmons with a patrick beverly, westbrook, hell a kobe mindset? He had the tools to be an all time great. But maybe thats why he never developed those talents, he thought it would just.. happen. Like many have said, he likes the lifestyle, he doesnt love the game
Cant be giving out contracts like this too easily
A Steve Francis, Stephon marbury, Baron Davis, a video similar to your Monta Ellis ones, stat stuffers exciting to watch with little playoff success!
I don’t care how many channels post it, I will always watch Ben Simmons slander 😂
"Sky high IQ??"
Future Eskimo bro is crazy 💀💀💀💀💀
This man killed my parlay on a 7.5 Point line … Yes he’s bad
Ben is the Kenny Powers of basketball just without thr mullet.
2015 hs class slept on Aaron Abayari dude was good but not tall enough
Ben didn't even need a killer jumpshot to be a superstar. Imagine Demar Derozan, but he can pass with the best, rebound, and play DPOY-caliber defense. All this man needed was a reliable 15-footer, a 75% free throw, and that's it.
Also, Coach Nick and BBallBreakdown points out that Ben is one of the best roll-men in the game.
one for James Wiseman? or too early?
Honestly the biggest disappointment of an nba player😂🤦
Its funny hearing praise for embiid when he's as big a playoff choker as Ben Simmons ever was
Once Ben Simmons' confidence was gone, it was over for him. It seems like he has no interest in playing at a high level anymore.
Remember this guy won ROTY over JT and Mitchell
It's impressive how he was able to hide the secret that he couldn't shoot for so long. Long enough to make it all the way to the NBA and be awarded a huge contract without being exposed. But now that his secret is out, He should quit and join the CIA.
Damn this video was personal for you 😂
He is a decent role player
Money for Nothing should be his walk out song.
His style of play is essentially outdated on top of his mental health issues. I miss Ben on Philly even tho the pass happened. He was my fav point guard in the league at one point if you don’t wanna count harden or lebron
Make a how bad is gobert soon
even at LSU I knew he lacked the grit it takes to make it in the NBA
Surprised his father is in his life usually only guys raised by single moms act like this 💯
Based vid breh
King of gay
A positionless player who sucks at all 5 positions! That was great
He'll turn it around and win another ROTY
this man is 6'10 for no reason
Donovan Mitchell was going around wearing the Websters dictionary of what the word Rookie meant 😂😂😂
Mmm his placid attitude maybe a bit Aussie?? Luke Longley ( Bull’s Center) struggled with his lack of aggression too! Australian’s are generally very laidback, even during total crises haha:)
Ben Simmons and Carson Wentz look like they have a lot in common. Mental health is a serious issue.
oh he got the Bag of money...he done naw! 😂
Brian Scalabrine would wipe the floor with Ben Simmons.
Nobody wants to be his friend 🤷♂️🤣🤣
Crazy how millionaire basketball players can't even shoot the ball in BASKETBALL 🏀. if he would of focused on free throws and a middy he would of been way better.
Man I wish people could still rig sports or I just wish I could rig sports so much $ 😂
Ben is the Kid that Peaked in High School lol
Probably the largest disappointment in NBA history - this damn Ben Simmons is just embarrasing
How Good Is Lonzo Ball Actually? should be your next video.
Thank goodness he 6'10
His dad coaching him, you think would have taught him how to use the right hand. Or shoot with either. Instead of just dunking.
Kardashian curse making havoc in nba
"Triple single averages" 😂
Went to the bulls nets game last year where KD scored like 47. Legit watched this man dribble the hall up the court every possession, hand the ball off to kd or kyrie immediately, set a screen and stand in the corner lmao. Literally almost every possession. Dudes an embarrassment
