I have been amazed at what I can carry in my truck even though the bed is pretty short.

Also hauled a 1000 lb pallet of wood offcuts from the mill for firewood and it took it better than my 2014 Ram 1500 did.
We ordered a 2024 Maverick Lariat Hybrid with the roll up bed cover for the same basic price of your 2025 XLT. Lots of extras not on your XLT, but no AWD or towing package. We’re getting 44 mpg and over 500 miles per tank. Great truck for our needs!

Yeah, I think a lot of people see the price but don't think about the price relative to the overall new car market. Not to mention yes, the bells and whistles and the fuel efficiency of the Maverick. My daily driver is a 2 door Silverado and my my pleasure vehicle is a '67 Chevy C10. I've been waiting for the USA to produce an affordable, good looking, 2 door AWD ev pickup truck. Just want to point out can't call the Honda Ridgeline not a truck and then call this a truck. I towed a 22ft trailer 5k miles while having the bed loaded out with gen, dirtbike and ramps with a Ridgeline. I think this could pull an 18ft with bicycles in the bed...I'm curious where mpg will land when there's a towing test. .
The only difference the FX4 package with drive modes is the Off Road mode it no longer says mud and ruts or sand but you still have slippery, eco, Sport, normal and tow haul even with 2k towing. What I wanna know is the heated seats. When you hold doing the button for it a A on the seat symbol pulls up beside the heated seats symbol. What does that mean?
This is a bit of a surprise TFL acquisition for me. The testing should be cool - the mileage loop, maybe an Ike, maybe a Jen/ Mary road trip? This series should be fun!
For me it's being used as a city runner lifestyle pickup. I agree if you have the money for the fancy B&W go for it. However like it was mentioned it's a small pickup. I just want the stock XL hybrid with AWD. Going to higher trims is just cushion profit l. And looking at the stock XL hybrid AWD vs the stock XLT hybrid AWD. The few trim up you get I can live with that and save money. For sure down the line I will buy trinket after market items for it . I live in Michigan and I have a jeep Renegade with heated seat and steering wheel. It rarely stays on because it's a four-cylinder engine and that engine gets to normal operation temp quickly so I barely use it even in near or below temps. I will most definitely be getting a pickup bed cap. They say having a tonneau cover or a bed cap can improve your fuel economy probably by 1 to 2 mpg. Nice review guys.
36k for the XLT the way I wanted it, is why I got the Lariat. My Lariat is currently in shipping, but my Lariat is MSRP at 39,075.....my current Maverick is a 2023, Hybrid, XLT Luxury Package. “Horney Wombat” is now my favorite TH-cam comment of all time! lol
Roman with the zingers!
Finally! Back when the maverick first came out i was so excited to get one until I found out the maverick didn't come with AWD and the hybrid.
Andre wanted everything but cruise control 😂
Well, as I’d wager you already know… That’s because he doesn’t even know what cruise control is! 😆
I’m ready to see the Lobo in action man!! I can’t wait to see the 0-60 test!
I’ve owned 4 Mavericks. Great pickup for the prices I paid. In this case, not so much. $37k plus taxes for a XLT is a tough pill to swallow.
They must not have been great if you’ve gone through 4. What happened to them? They’ve only been available for a few years.
How do you go through so many new vehicles? It's been out for what? 2 years?
hoping i can get one in 4+ years for a fraction of new price. thats what ive done with c-max's (although they arent as popular as mavericks
@@rexxephoenixI think some people ordered them - were patient, drove them, and then sold them for what they paid or more.
There really isn’t any competition for the Maverick hybrid I have a 24 xlt hybrid also with luxury package I absolutely love it, I traded the smaller screen for the physical ac controls lol and a little less expensive too no regrets I’m getting almost 50 mpg it’s an amazing little truck without a doubt
Love the family arguments!
Just want to point out can't call the Honda Ridgeline not a truck and then call this a truck. I towed a 22ft trailer 5k miles while having the bed loaded out with gen, dirtbike and ramps with a Ridgeline. I think this could pull an 18ft with bicycles in the bed...I'm curious where mpg will land when there's a towing test.
.
Towing heavy with my hybrid (2,000 lbs max) I've seen 21 and 19 mpg. Going home with an empty utility trailer I got 28.
Only had my 24 Lariat hybrid for a few weeks but it’s a great honest little truck. It’s the Volks-truck.
Fantastic color! Can’t wait to see if Toyota brings the Stout to the US market to compete with the Maverick.
A&W root beer was always a fun place to visit back in the day.
Never been to B&W.
congrats on the truck, can't wait to see you pin it against some of the tests ... pricing aside I like the green outside and new styling
Best all around vehicle sold today
I still love my 22 FX4 Maverick. I really wish they had an AWD Hybrid when I purchased it. Hopefully this combo is reliable.
I prefer a composite bed rather than paint. Are there bedliners available?
18:45 WOW.... it seems not that long ago he got the santa cruz... i recall wishing he got the maverick
I was going to get a Maverick until my wife got a Great Pyrenees puppy and y’all know with Blaze what that means, no small trucks…lol!
I don't think Roman does any research for these vehicles.
Research schmisearch. Who has time for that. 😃
@@thomasfields2082 That's what Tommy is for
I would consider it if it had more towing capacity
Clearly didn’t sound like he did any Thank goodness for Tommy.
Seriously. Its crazy how confidently wrong he is and they almost sound passive aggressive going back and forth when Tommy corrects him lmao
36k for the XLT the way I wanted it, is why I got the Lariat. My Lariat is currently in shipping, but my Lariat is MSRP at 39,075.....my current Maverick is a 2023, Hybrid, XLT Luxury Package. Ford estimates it to be delivered to my dealer, NLT 1/20/25. We love my '23 Hybrid, in fact my son wanted it, so it's going to him when I get my new one!
I’m buying one of these!
Big Green old chevy thats what got me watching TFL
I love that green, I wish Ford offered it on everything. A Mustang in that color would be awesome.
They did. In 2022. Not sure if still offered or not but I think they also did a bronco with the Eruption green as well.
@@watchreport Yeah, I've seen it quite a bit on the Bronco. But I've only seen one current gen Mustang in Green. Like I said I wish it was offered on everything, I'm so tired of 90% of the cars on the road being black, white or grey.
I wish the Escape looked more like a compact SUV version of this truck. We need more affordable and capable two SUVs. This is still a great option but I wish they column mounted the gear selector and had physical buttons for the HVAC, it would be perfect for what it is.
We have a 23 Maverick hybrid. Sticker was 26K. It’s been pretty great for what it is.
Do you know if the 4 wheel drive hybrid you have is flat towable behind an RV as the front wheel drive hybrid Mavericks.
We have a 23 Maverick XL, love it and it feels very truck. Last truck was a v10 2500 Ram Truck and before that a Nissan Titan.
Beautiful truck! The xlt luxury used to come with a bedliner
I have this same hybrid AwD in eruptions green on order. Depending on how the full review goes, I’ll either complete the purchase or keep my 23 fx4. I really like the knobs and buttons, y’all.
Name it Little Green. You had Big Green and now you have Little Green.
Have a green one coming. His name will be Froggy McTruck.
What do you tow (in real life meanings) with 4k capacity. Trash cans only?
It has cruise control and an actual headlight switch unlike the Colorado
If the rumors are true that the PHEV Ranger is coming stateside, then that's almost certainly going to be my next vehicle
It'll get 25 miles on ev mode, useless
Particulate filters
@@ChristianC-gy1ym Hmm most of my shopping is with 10 miles, so not worthless and it's no
These rumors have been going on for 4 years...
@@fun0537 And I work from home and usually have my groceries delivered by Amazon so even an old Nissan Leaf that gets 80 miles on a full charge would be "useful" to me as far as EVs go.
But that doesn't mean it's useful for the mass.
Same logic applies to phev, you need at least 35 miles on ev mode for it to be useful in 2025 for the general public.
Sport mode really tightens up the steering.
Put it in sport mode for simulated shifts.
