Thanks for the vid. Do you know best way to connect a samsung phone as a monitor? Zeek did one a while back for RAW videoing but I only need for stills and standard video.
Glad it was helpful! I'd recommend the Danne's build of crop mood because it's easier between the two to start shooting with if you've never used Magic Lantern.
Hi I was wondering if magic lantern has an issue with release shutter w/o lens being enabled. I'm using Nikon lenses with an adapter you see so I need it enabled. When I tried to install magic lantern on my first attempt, it came up with this page from the setting menu suggesting that I need to disable it.
When in menu mode(camera), there is no firmware tab or copyright info tab when install mlv on sd. Plus when I connect to my pc, the Eos screen shows a cpu icon and doesn't do anything. Please advise
installed Danne's build everything seems to be working great but how do I start recording? neither the record button or shutter button seem to do anything
after intstalling magic lantern, can the eos m be enable to shoot still photo? or i have to change to a non-ML SD to shoot still image? i am planning to buy an Eos M to learn shooting still image and video but don't find information about this. Can you give me an advice on that? Thanks a lot.
Hi, I copied the 2.02 firmware version onto my SD card then updated it on the camera, but once I drag the ML files across and try to update it, under 'Displays camera settings' no other options are there. Did I do something wrong?
Before transferring any files, format your SD card in your camera to ensure it's clean and properly formatted. If you haven't already done so, update your camera's official firmware to the latest version provided by the manufacturer. This ensures compatibility with Magic Lantern. Copy all the files from the Magic Lantern zip folder onto the root directory of your SD card. Ensure that you're not placing them inside any folders and that they're directly on the SD card. Insert the SD card into your camera and turn it on. Navigate to the firmware update menu and select the Magic Lantern file (typically named something like "firmware.fir"). Follow the instructions to enable the bootflag. Once the bootflag is enabled, turn off your camera, remove the SD card, and delete the Magic Lantern file from the card. Reinsert the card into your camera and turn it on again. Navigate to the firmware update menu, and this time, you should see additional options, including installing Magic Lantern. Select this option to proceed with the installation. Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the installation process. Once installed, Magic Lantern should be accessible from your camera's menu system.
i followed all of the instructions and the camera has ML on it, however when I start to record it stops and says buffering issues. It also is very glitchy and hard to understand. i am using my canon is m with kit ens 18-55mm
Is there a way to do it with a phone or tablet? Samsung tablet. I have a card reader for my phone but Google after download says acces denied when I try to copy it to the SD card
You're welcome! Unfortunately it doesn't work with the M6 Mark II. Do you like your M6 Mark II? I've been strongly considering picking one up for my everyday carry.
@@reelfilmmaking101 thx for getting back. It’s a shame that they did. But as for the M6 Markii, it’s a KEEPER! Great overall camera during the day and night. So many features such as the silent shutter and great 32 megapixel sensor. I can blow up my images and the pictures are sharper than a samurai blade! I have the sigma lenses made for the camera and work great. Pls consider buying one. You won’t regret it! 👍🏽👍🏽
Hello, Im an entire beginner, when i install the ML it doesnt change anything so i decided to uninstall it again, but my camera now doesnt open its LCD and just keeps blinking yellow. Is there nything i can do with it?
I'm an entire beginner. I installed Dannes build. But uninstalled it again, because I don't know how to use it. The raw videos I shooted came out with lot of noise and I felt my mobile does better job than this. Can u enlighten me how to use ML?
Sorry to hear your raw videos didn't come out great. My biggest suggestion would be to make sure you have a lot of light to help expose the image properly. After that you can process the MLV files through MLV app to get them to look how you want. I recently made a tutorial about that process that might be helpful to you. th-cam.com/video/xpHwfmIAdEI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZQygjKC0kMDSvIik
thanks for the video and links. you've got that third eye crown chakra vibe going on. i like it. i'm interested to try this tweaked version of crop mood. i stepped away from ml for about a year because it failed on a shoot that was important to me and i got nothing. i switched my attention to playing around with other cameras. i want to pick it back up again because i would like to use it in a project with multiple cameras and different looks. i can't deny the best images I've gotten are with ml but it feels so unstable. it will work flawless for months. then one day it will crash for no apparent reason. i see you picked up an m-lite👍. mine arrived after the above mentioned "incident" so i haven't even really used it. it's just been sitting under my bed collecting dust😂.
There's usually not, but it depends on multiple factors including the recording mode your using, the quality of your sd card, and the temperature of the location you're filming in. Hope this helps!
Hi! Yes, you can revert back to the canon os after installing magic lantern. Since magic lantern installs from an SD card, if you use a different card that doesn't have magic lantern installed, you'll have all your regular functions and menus of the Canon OS. Hope this helps!
Your a fricking lifesaver this tutorial was the only one that i could find that showed how to download firmware 2.0.2
You can Google it

There is a 24FPS fix file in Danne's download page. Does anyone know what it is used for? Should I install it?
Thanks for the video. Which build of crop mode do you recommend for a beginner - Bilal's or Danne's setup of Bilal's?

Same goes for me.
Did u get it working since then?
Hello, I understand this camera is about the same as 650D/700D right. Which means without crop it can only do 720p in RAW?
Thanks for the quick and precise video! I saw that in 4.2K I can only record at 23,97 fps, how can I get it to 25 or 30 but with 4K quality?
When I try to install the Canon utility it tells me I need a CD that came with camera? Anyone getting same?
Hey great video man! I subscribed! I have a quick question, Can I install Magic Lantern on a Canon M50 Mark II ?

Can I install Cinestyle for my Picture Profile then run ML at the same time?

Is there an old Canon camera better than this one with Magic Lantern? One that doesn't cost more than $300.
I heard the canon 5d mark ii is good since its full frame but might cost a bit more than $300
Is there any way to downgrade from Firmware 2.0.3 back to 2.0.2? I cannot get ML onto my EOS M because it’s on the 2.0.3 version :(
does it work on the eos m3 or just m?

Hello, any idea on how to shoot HDR videos so they could be uploaded to youtube?
I'm not sure currently if there's anyway to do HDR video with the EOS M and magic lantern.
Are there any overheating issues during recording?
There's usually not, but it depends on multiple factors including the recording mode your using, the quality of your sd card, and the temperature of the location you're filming in. Hope this helps!
How to solve overheating problem?
Do I need to turn on any settings on ML like previous version or simply install and we're good to go?
If you use Danne's version of Crop Mood that I suggest in this video, you should be good to shoot after a clean install. Hope that helps!
