@@reelfilmmaking101 if you put ex formated sd card in eos m and format it, it will be fat32 and you can continue the ML installation. BTW nice video, keep on.

@@reelfilmmaking101 My footage is extremely grainy, how do I fix this? Shooting 1080p, changing ISOs is not helping. All ISOs are extremely dark so I have to use Auto ISO.

insane timing i got the adapters yesterday to finally use camera with ML and i had a little bit of a hassle installing it, guess ill reinstall with this tutorial XD

Thanks for this video! I'm impressed this little camera can do this. One thing that confuses me, is there any way to playback your live footage on the camera? I would think it's not designed to playback raw, so you can't actually watch your videos until you export? Or this there some magic lantern magic making this possible?

sir i have 6d mark ii dslr but my problem is that firmware has 1.1.1 and ml has 1.1.6 firmware is required in 6d mark ii. That's why I can't install ML on my 6D camera. What Can I do?

Thanks! It gives you the option to overclock the SD card so depending on the SD card you use you can get fairly fast speeds.

It won't work on the Canon M50, most magic lantern builds are built around older Canon cameras.
Sooooo Great video!!!! Ok so I’m here because I keep getting ‘Movie was stopped automatically’ after like 3 second, runs down the frame buffers, and boom back to the start. What SD cards are you using exactly? Tried all sorts x fat etc etc on computer on phone format m, still the same issue. Any ideas please?

when i go to format the card on windows there is not an option for FAT or FAT32 it is just NTSC and exFAT and when i go to update the canon eos M on the 2.0.2 it says Memory card containing firmware is required to update. i press okay and it doesnt update or nothing. Help please Thanks!
Format sd card in eos m, it will become fat32, and you can continue the ML installation.

I have a Sandisk Extreme PRO 170mb/s 64GB. It is SDXC V30 card and works fine, try to get something similar. Maybe borrow from someone first to see if the formatting will work. Good luck.

Hello why does my magic lantern lack the features that you have?
I screwed up and didn't use an extreme pro SD card to download Magic Lantern onto my Canon EOS M. Now it'll only record for a few seconds. Can I just pop an Extreme Pro SD card in there or is there some procedure I need to follow?
You'll need to install Magic Lantern onto your new Extreme Pro SD card and boot it again from your camera. That should get you up and running!
mines running 2.0.3 I can't seem to get it back to 2.0.2 kinda annoying it asked me to update to run magic lantern on 2.0.3 and then I can't use it.
Hi, you mention you record in 1080p, what bit-rate do you record at?
When I record in 1080p I have the sd overclock setting turned on at 192MHz.
@@reelfilmmaking101 I think the question the OP was asking was what bit rate are you shooting at - i.e., 10 bit, 12 bit, or 14 bit. Pretty sure you mentioned shooting in 14 bit, which I think is the default for the 1080 preset. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

For some reason it won't let me update to the 2.0.2 firmware. I've tried from both the link in your description as well as the link from the Magiclantern website. After copying the file over to the formatted SD Card when I hit "update camera firmware" in the menu it doesn't give me the option to update, but instead says "Memory card containing firmware is required to update". I've tried multiple SD cards but always have the same issue. I also looked at trying to update the firmware via Canon EOS Utility but it won't let me download the app with my current "MacOS Monterey Version 12.3". I'm at a bit of a dead end and wondered if you can make any suggestions?
I don't know why I'm having problems in M mode.

Thanks for the sub man! Yeah, if the write speed on the card says 140mb/s, I think it should be able to handle RAW recording with ML.

Now I have the right SD card, I've formatted it to FAT32 and I downloaded magic lantern to it. But when I put it in my EOS M the magic lantern features don't appear. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.
Have you watched the video you're commenting on? Check 2 minutes and 50 seconds, where he explains. Make sure you're in MANUAL mode.
My M has a Different Menu and I cant find anything about Firmware version. ??? And Then how do we Down Grade to 2.02 if we find we have a higher version?

Great video... but can't find where to download ver. 2.0.2 for windows. Download websites want you to include their apps. in order to download.
The Magic Lantern webside has a download for firmware 2.0.2

Dude, I have super OLD firmware, at least it seems like it, I cannot even check what is it, I have canon EOS M, and I check all of the settings, there is no option check firmware neither to upgrade it, I'm confused and cannot find any relevant information online about it :O

Yeah, 2.0.2 is still the firmware you need on the eos m for the most stable builds of ML, including the new crop mood. Hope this helps!

that firmware option is not showing up for me. Any idea how to bring it up, anybody?
Make sure your EOS M is in the photo mode in the Canon menu and go to the last menu tab. Near the bottom you should see a firmware option. When you click on it it will give you the option to update firmware. Hope this helps!

I installed 2.0.3 version and can’t see update settings now
I think if you find a the canon 2.0.2 driver and download it, you should be able to install it to your eos m via the canon camera utility app. You'll hit update software and I think 2.0.2 should override the 2.0.3 version.

M- problems, nerves, frustration, failure, the camera without ML is ordinary, lost money vat and duty and time to mess with importing from ebay
P - working, hurray installation ML ok

I do not think it is a good idea to install Magic Lantern on a FAT32 filesystem. FAT32 are limited to a 32GB partition size and a maximum of 4gb filesize each file. For RAW recording this is not ideal. You guys who are having problems with exFAT need to figure out what the problem is. Maybe issue is MacOS in regards to formatting and copying files over to SD Card.
