Let's walk through the 2/3. I would create the first key on blue wallet/sparrow as a hot wallet and not back up the seed (seedless rotatable key for convenience). Either desktop or mobile offline signing would be possible with that key immediately. Then as normal import xpubs of the two hd keys. Export this coordinator setup to all wallets/bluewallet vault/sparrow. Backup those hd keys on steel. One key goes to deposit box as recovery key/inheritance key. One key goes in the safe. Now the trick is, can you setup the transaction on Sparrow, then visit your recovery key and sign it using bluewallet on mobile (offline signing), and return to Sparrow to import that psbt from the remote coldcard? Hey Ben. Long shot here but is there any reason why I can’t see my utxo in sparrow if I see the correct fingerprint in “settings”? I exported xpub from coldcard, not seeing transactions or utxo (there’s only 1)… I can see the funds on mempool in my address, I can see them in green wallet (created wallet on jade, recovered on coldcard). Great video. Question about addresses designated as change addresses in Sparrow Wallet. If I have sats in an address designated in Sparrow Wallet as a change address and just wanted to store sats only in that one change address, I can, right?
Thank you for the excellent tutorial video. One thing I have not quite wrapped my head around is the creation of the hardware wallet and the seed phrase. So, if someone was to create a wallet using trezor suite, they would have to record a seed phrase. However, when I watch your video here I see that no seed phrase is associated with the cold wallet creation in sparrow. Do you only ever need one seed phrase for multiple wallets if you use the same trezor? Thank you for the great content and any time to answer this question.
Hey great question! So for this video all these devices already have been set up with seed phrases. No need to create new ones if the device is already initialized and you just want to use it with different software - the backup remains the same. Most hardware devices are compatible with many different pieces of software. Wallets like sparrow are simply another way to interact with the same Bitcoin network. Think of it like an internet browser. You can use Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer... But they all connect to the same internet 😁
@@BTCSessions hey Ben! Bonjour de Montréal . Tell me : easy question ... do we have different 12-24 passwords on each wallets ?? Cold card , ledger , this wallet ...?
Thanks so much for your videos! I followed your tutorial and set up my Trezor wallet through Sparrow however the balance on Sparrow reads 0? There is some btc on that trezor. Any idea how to link it thoroughly?
Why do airgapped devices need this extra information on them for multisig? That's a part of multisig I don't understand yet. The ledger/bitbox only needs to get connected for example.
Good Q - there's a few things to understand here. 1. A multisig takes bits of info from all signing devices and combines them to create what is effectively an entirely different wallet. 2. When you use a wired device, it communicates with the computer in real time. This means it can see the multisig setup, and that its private key is a part of it, thus able to sign transactions. 3. Air gapped devices have no way of knowing they're part of a multisig unless you tell them (by scanning a QR code or using an SD card). If they are unaware, you basically are saying "hey sign this transaction!" and the wallet is saying "I don't know what this is, because this address does not belong to the private key I hold". I hope this makes sense!
Are the 12 mnemonic words the only thing I need to recover all my assets in the sparrow wallet in another computer? Do I need to export the wallet or record the passphrase etc?

Hi Ben, Great video - thank you! One quick question: Is there any way of VERIFYING the receive address on the multisig wallet, on your Coldcard? Hi BTC Session, amazing tutorial but i do have one question about setting up a multisig wallet. I already have a singlesig sparrow wallet created using coldcard, if i want to make a multisig sparrow wallet using the same coldcard will it affect my previously created singlesig wallet?
great content, always clear and useful!! I have a question : while creating the multisig wallet, in the Keystores section the key imported for the 3 devices is a xpub. Why is that? I believed that keys used for multisig wallets were Zpub or Xpub
So question, if I use multi sig and use seed to pull up on another wallet does multi sig still in play or can someone steal my coins with seed and not need my multi sig wallets. Does multi sig carry over to blockchain
Hopefully I understood your question correctly - I'll do my best to answer! So you can use the individual keys of a multisig to create any other single sig wallet you like. If someone gets that ONE key, they can't compromise the multisig wallet at all. In order to actually access your multisig, a person would need your wallet configuration file (basically the map to your digital vault) and the minimum number of keys required to unlock it.

Thanks Ben for another useful clean review. This wallet seems to have great features. Question: do you think it can be trusted already, given that it's still recent and maybe its code wasn't thoroughly audited yet?
Given you're likely to use hardware wallets with it, you should be ok as long as you check your device as your "beacon of truth" when doing transactions. Double check addresses, fees, etc to make sure they are correct. Every hardware device goes by the assumption that your computer is compromised and protects against that 😁
@@BTCSessions you're absolutely right, thanks. And assuming one isn't running a node, do you think sparrow provides more or less privacy than electrum connected to the blockstream server?
Hey may I ask one qusetion? I used one wallet sent 0.01250821BTC to my ledger X, I been charged 0.0001895 BTC as fee for this Transaction , it's quite high, and that is the lowest options from that wallet when I checked "view in explorer" I saw this "This transaction could save 42% on fees by upgrading to native SegWit-Bech32 or 31% by upgrading to SegWit-P2SH" May I ask how to lower the fees ? Thank you .
Good Evening, very simply described. Wish, I had seen your video before. I got an issue brother, wishing a fruitful suggestion from you. I didn't broadcast a transaction, instead did sign it exactly as you have shown in your video at 2oth minute. Now, how to cancel the transaction please. I got stuck over here.
Great video. I have a question. I set up my Coldcard wallet and linked it to Sparrow Wallet originally by plugging it directly to my computer, but I now want to use the SD card to do partially signed transactions. Is it worth resetting it and making a new wallet without plugging it in at all, or is it fine if I just use the SD card going forward?
Hi, Thanks much for the videos. Very helpful and high quality content. Is it possible to create a shared multisig wallet, where people approving transactions are in different geographical locations and using different computers? Electrum has a plugin for that is is called Cosigner Pool, if I remember correctly.
"...nor will your words be good if you don't remember your password..." If you forget your password you should be able to recover your wallet/import into a new wallet with your words (seed phrase). So this does not make sense to me.
Unfortunately this wallet is way too complicated for beginners. Developpers need to work on simplicity otherwise there's no need for any more wallets out there.
There are many good Bitcoin wallets that focus on simplicity - Blue Wallet is a good example. Sparrow focuses on deep visibility into the Bitcoin protocol to serve the needs of those who need to see the details. Bitcoin has no undo function, and the best way to avoid a potentially life changing mistake is to understand what you are doing before you do it. Visibility leads to confidence leads to fewer mistakes.
I know, it's constant. I've blocked/reported so many of them already but it's impossible to keep up. If you see comments like that, it's super helpful if you can report them. Thanks for the heads up!

If it only lives on electrum than it does no good if it doesn't follow seed to any other wallet trying to recover seed. Thanks
Can you send your btc from sparrow on your laptop to cold store it on an old phone? This is helpful but i see you are moving it from one phone to another, i am trying to figure out how to move it from laptop to old phone. Thanks! Cheers!
Can someone tell me the website/URL to download sparrow wallet?
Do I need to run my own node in order to download and use Sparrow?
No
Thank you so much for sharing this! You've helped so much.
Nice video but I'm super confused about a few things.. if somebody found your seed phrase how would they know which wallet you had your btc on to steal? Like it could be on sparrow/ wasabi/ electrum or wherever? Because if you lose you cold card for example you can retrieve your funds with another device? But if someone looking to steal how would they know where? Just don't get this whole concept I'm new to this..
Hey Ben, if you lose a hardware wallet that is part of a multi sig: will restoring your sear to a new hardware wallet also bring back all of your multi sig settings?
i think so. can anyone confirm this?
i just confirmed and it works after seed word restoration
Hi Ben! Can I use one of my coldcards for both a signer of a multisig wallet and also use it for another singlesig wallet for smaller amounts? Not sure if it needs to be dedicated to multisig only?
good content, I'm going to test the multisig, I have a question, what would be necessary to save to be able to replicate the multisig wallet on another computer?
Guys, i really don't know which to go for, foundation passport or coldcard. One is relatively new but super handy whereas the latter one has a good reputation over the years.
I would go with cold card, did you already decide?
Tell me how to withdraw USDT from the wallet, it requires some TRX to pay the commission? Here is the wallet (burger law satoshi session avoid fossil skull science scene boil vast wasp)
Thanks for this video!
I used one wallet sent 0.01250821BTC to my ledger X,
I been charged 0.0001895 BTC as fee for this Transaction , it's quite high, and that is the lowest options from that wallet
when I checked "view in explorer" I saw this
"This transaction could save 42% on fees by upgrading to native SegWit-Bech32 or 31% by upgrading to SegWit-P2SH"
May I ask how to lower the fees ?
Can you do a coldcard mk4 vid please mate ... as slow and simple as possible 😁
Hi,
Thanks much for the videos. Very helpful and high quality content.
Is it possible to create a shared multisig wallet, where people approving transactions are in different geographical locations and using different computers?
Electrum has a plugin for that is is called Cosigner Pool, if I remember correctly.
Yes sir
Nice Info man!
Well done...
"...nor will your words be good if you don't remember your password..." If you forget your password you should be able to recover your wallet/import into a new wallet with your words (seed phrase). So this does not make sense to me.
Fantastic!!
what happened to your voice on minute 28??? 🤣
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Liked!
Wtf was that bluewalletfee
Unfortunately this wallet is way too complicated for beginners. Developpers need to work on simplicity otherwise there's no need for any more wallets out there.
This is 100% not a beginner wallet - it is made specifically for power users of Bitcoin.
@Yoriichi technically, Specter might be a little less secure because it’s browser based. Still better than most other options tho
There's a fake account with a similar name and profile pic that is spamming the comments
I know, it's constant. I've blocked/reported so many of them already but it's impossible to keep up. If you see comments like that, it's super helpful if you can report them. Thanks for the heads up!
