I was 6 or 7 i used to start the 35 and cruse the farm and thought tbey didnt know ,im 50 now .good job
I just bought a 1957 Massey Ferguson FE35 and just start to repair the sheet metal lot of hard work ahead of me last time I drove one of these when I was 14 years old and I am now 66 years old
So much rust, wear and dents on this one...definately deserves a resto and a caring owner. 35X is one of my favorite tractors and the very first I drove myself at the age of 5...! So sweet to see it finally exiting your shed, GREAT WORK !

I wish I knew how to film my fergy resto's and put the vids on youtube. I could probably learn but when I'm working on the tractor I don't feel like taking photos. the only pics I have is when my friend comes over and takes one.

Your video almost made me cry, my late grandpa had this exact tractor. I still remember when he used to take me for rides in childhood. I once even drove this while sitting on his lap. Unfortunately, my grandfather is no more, but the tractor, even after 40 years of service is still going strong. And I'll fight to death if any of my uncles ever decide to sell it. I love you grandpa
I rode on my grandads lap 50 years ago. He had a 57 model 35 Ferguson. I plowed many hours with it as a teenager. My dad now owns it and restored it about 20 years ago. Now he mows his property with it. I drove it a few years ago after not running it 30 plus years. I remembered how to choke it, start it, set throttle and run PTO. It made the exact same sounds and had the same exhaust odor. Funny how we don’t forget sounds and smells. I have next dibs on it, even if I have to park it in my driveway. Ours has a hunter green chassis with Kahki colored body which I believe was only used for one model year. Lots of grey and red ones but I’ve never seen another Khaki colored one.
Great job! That’s a tractor worthy of that work 👍🏻 I’ve got one and it still works away fine other than a few drops of oil here and there when ya crank her up and the obligatory black smoke 💨

just watched this video right through again ( thats quite a few times now ) id like to think that tractor will last has many years has it is old already all over again and will still be here when we are long gone and cherished by someone else who will also keep it alive .

thank you Robin , i got the " clam shell " mudguards from MPA spares Belleek co Fermanagh , northern Ireland , if you google them they will come up and they are very easy to deal with , you can tell them i sent you , they were not expensive and are the correct mudguards for this era tractor , they are very easy to fit using long bolts which locate either side of the rear axle . thanks for watching .

I think he will see his money back eventually. I bought a 35x 20 years ago and it has just continued to work with not much needed. The way prices here in the UK have gone I wish I had had the foresight to by several others back then. As for having an emotional connection - sure - I wouldn't part with my 35x - it would be like selling a grandmother.

i don't think so , it was butchered on years ago , its belonged to a neighbour we just did it up back to factory spec for him , he didn't want the rotten cab and cant say i blame him , your 345 will come out as nice hopefully . regards terry .

It was a Ford cab. MF 35 was never offered a cab. A heathouser option, yes, but not a full cab. You could look and tell it was something somebody jury-rigged on there.
This looks like a Sekura cab, was and aftermarket cab fitted to 35s and also 135s and others. I believe that Sekura supplied custom brackets and panels to suit MF 35, etc.

@@bobgallaghar4716 yes peter , as you can see in the video what we do with all of our projects is to strip the tractor right back to nothing then a de-grease and pressure wash then wire brush everything to get it as clean and rust free as possible then maybe another wash and start prepping for paint . slow tedious work but the results speak for them selves as you can see in some of my other videos . thanks for watching .

Nice work. A. lot of cleaning and painting. The small rollers you found in the filter on the hydraulic pump looks like they can be from the pinion gear bearing. I am working on the exact same tractor. Please check out my channel and video.

we recently restored a Massey Ferguson 135 but we put it back into the yellow industrial finish as requested by the owner , she came out nice , im trying to get a video together of the restoration so hopefully it will be coming soon .

The 35x has a multipower, that one doesn't so its just a 35

Ken Arnold our 35 has a duncan cab on, and it was put on it when the tractor was made in 1959 in bannerlane

What did you use to sand down the tractor
a couple of 4 inch grinders with wire brushes attached , slow dirty work but less harmfull than the dreaded sandblasting, thanks fot watching Peter 👍👍
