I'm commenting nine months after this was posted, but I just had to. My friend and I had the opportunity to meet Carmine backstage after a concert at the then Brendan Byrne Arena at the Meadowlands in NJ (I forget what year it was). Ron Delsner, the promoter, asked my friend and I, who were just standing around near the elevator, to bring a cart of food down to the backstage area.
What a thrill it was for us to meet Carmine, because we were wannabe rock drummers and admired Carmine.
Only years later, I would come to appreciate that Carmine, who was probably tired, hungry, and thirsty after the show, but still took the time to talk to a couple of nobodies for a few minutes.
We were peppering him with questions about drumming until he finally had to excuse himself.
The only thing we regretted was not asking for autographed drum sticks, but we were just too starstruck at the time to ask. Mr. Appice, was and remains a great drummer and an even better human being in my book. (Even though I have always been a huge Neil Peart fan, I never got to meet Neil. Nor did I ever get to meet Buddy Rich, even though I was seated very close to the band at a free outdoor concert on Pier 17 in NYC. That chance to meet Carmine remains one of highlights of my childhood.)
Thanks to YT, I now get to watch Carmine and his brother Vinny, cohost a talk show, called, Artists on Lockdown, which brings in all kinds of famous and successful rock personalities to tell their stories about music, touring, recording and life. It's simply awesome to have come across this interview. THANKS!

I met Carmine at a drum clinic in Hamilton Ontario Canada. He was already gone from Ozzy’s band and was starting King Cobra at the time. He had a really nice cherry red, double bass drum kit that night. On the way out, he was standing behind a table shaking hands and signing autographs. He was a really nice guy, and boy, did he ever have a really hard, solid hit on those drums, it sounded like thunder.

I saw Carmine with Ozzy at Newcastle Mayfair ( UK ) . I had previously seen 3 shows with Lee Kerslake ( all phenomenal ) and 2 shows with Tommy Aldridge ( both brilliant but in different ways to Kerslake ) ... Carmine was phenomenal live , combining the rock solid feel of Kerslake with the flash and super chops of Aldridge . True. Bob Daisley did say however in his book that they were becoming annoyed with Aldridge during the recording of the album because he was struggling and taking too long. I don't think his live playing was translating to the recording environment. I read an interview with Aldridge later where the major falling out was during the mix- they took out his second bass drum. That's like telling Michael Jordan you can't drive to the bucket. That was the final straw from the way I understood it. In the big picture it was probably just time for a change for both sides.

He was her role model and he was a ruthless and unscrupulous manager and businessman that totally followed the business model of the majority of the other promoters and managers that absolutely and uneqivacobly took advantage of the artist . Sharon had to buy out Ozzys contract that he had as a member of Black Sabbath from her father leaving both her and Ozzy with no money. So they started their marriage and relationship with nothing and everything that they have accheived I have to hand it to Sharon . Ozzy was a complete wreck when they got together and look what they have accomplished together as a team very impressive.

This is sad. Tommy had his best years with Randy in The Ozzy band, according to himself. He made so many trademarks in that band, enhancing the songs live, and rerecorded the Sabbath-songs and brought them to a new level.
I saw Carmine in Stockholm with Ozzy, and he destryoed the whole concert by climbing on his gonggong decorated with a bat, and play really corny beats in the songs. I saw Tommy 12 months earlier with Ozzy, and he just blew me away…
But Carmine straightened up and there are som recordings on the tube from his stint with OZZY that is really good, where he actually copies Tommys playing a lot more and almost nails it. Almost. He never got the thing with Tommys double bass drums playing, which is so special and tricky to nail.
Tommy did record the Bark at….- album. His sound, his fills, his trademark. Love the Thunderbolt Toms on the intro of Rock’n’roll Rebell, and just after that, a closing hihat….And he got back in the band after Carmine left, just to save Ozzs ass.. He never liked like the guy, though he was his best man when Sharon and Ozzy got married. Carmine is a great drummer, and I still dont get why he has to lie about his carrier. Why record it with Tommy, rerecord it with Carmine, take band picture with Tommy, ( Who would have been fired by that time) and then make a video with Carmine… and release the album with Tommy on the cover…If he recorded it, he would be on the cover, and get the creds.)
..Blue Murder talks for it self- superior drumming. Be proud of that instead, Carmine.
If Tommy has bad timing, you got a bad memory Mr Appice.

"Everyone became a legend." Except Carmine - in my opinion. A good drummer, a big talker. In his defense, his experience with the Osbournes was far from unique. Sounds like he got screwed just like everybody else. They were in the process of screwing Randy Rhoads. As Tommy Aldrige told Randy, "Randy, the only way you're going to get out of these contracts is if you die."

Takes a swipe at Tommy and hides behind Sharon’s words... poor, simple little man clinging to some false sense of importance. Tommy will be remembered for all the great playing; this egomaniac will be remembered by his mustache which makes him look like a sad old biker from the Village People. He’d throw his own mother under the bus for publicity, “mom was great, but she never had my kind of success”. Go away to the old hepatitis home because it’s sad all you got is riding off other people’s names. Carmine playing drums for Rod Stewart is like the tiger king playing for Justin Bieber....
