I love it when companies make their improved parts backward compatible. Not many are willing to do that since they want you to buy an all new device. Good job Woodland Mills.
Update! Called Woodland Mills and placed order for all three cams, 8.00 each plus shipping US currency Mentioned your name and they know you well and had high praise for you. I think I got a great deal! Thanks for the info. John Toccoa GA🤠
My receipt was for all three cams @ 8.00 each ship to GA 11.99 total 35.99 this was paid on 01-10-2024 guess they went up in 6 days I don't have any other clue Jla@@drmrvh2
Hi Sandy, I have the same grinder, and I have seen the newer grinder, they didn't have the cams available for purchase at the time it came out so now that you have them I'm putting in an order also. thanks for the heads up! Have a great week. John Toccoa GA
Thanks Sandy that looks better but I can't wait to see the blade cut wood, also how it is working after the small adjustments, like the grinder when it first touches then follows the complete profile all the way until it finishes on the gusset, glad woodland Mills have done individual cams rather than like some companies try and sell you a complete setup at a much higher price that you just don't need.
Good day Sandy. Always look forward to your videos.i have the same sharpener but I called woodland mills and ordered a new stone that never needed to be profiled i have been using it for eight months now with no problems. I changed the drive motor and now I sharpen a blade in seven minutes compared to fifteen minutes.
Really great video Sandy! Thanks for sharing an having us over to the shop! Glad to hear that the new cam could work on your model of sharpener! Lights really do a great job lighting the place up that’s for sure! 🔥💯👍. See you soon! Andrew from NB :)

Hi Sandy. Nothing better than a proper 'How-to' with helpful hints; Thanks!! Love! the C-Clamp. 😊 It looks like an important part of your operation. No sarcasm intended.
Hey Tom! Hope all is well with you. Yeah that C clamp keeps thing Rock steady. I try to leave it there once I’ve got all the settings dialed in just in case I bump something
I've never owned a blade sharpener in past years had a man that would come by and get my blades and sharpen and bring them back once a week for like 4 dollars each worked well for me
I think you've got this figured out, Sandy. As evidenced by the small amount of grinding, you aren't GRINDING a new tooth profile, all you're doing is dressing the face of the tooth. I doubt you're cutting deep enough into the gullet to 'stop' a stress fracture, but you aren't hurting it, either. The best solution would entail reshaping your grinding stone so it dresses both the tooth face and full arc of the gullet, but probably unnecessary. On my (circular) saw blade sharpener I don't grind all the way into the gullet because I'm only sharpening a carbide tooth. The gullet never comes in contact with the wood.
You're right about just dressing things up. Some days especially with my chainsaw sharpener I get carried away and start forgetting it's not necessary an angle grinder haha
Hi Jeff, if my blade was cutting well when I took it off I don’t always check the set before sharpening it and putting it back on the sawmill. However when I do set it I check that before sharpening
@@sawingwithsandy thanks for answering that. On the flip side, for some odd reason you have to talk to sales at woodland mills to order those cams, they don’t list them on the website.
Looks like a clever design of sharpener. You might need to dress the stone a bit where it hits the most but eventually it wears in as well. I use a fully adjustable Dino profiler that was pretty trick in its day.
Good afternoon Sandy it looks like it is doing its job pretty good how often to you sharpen a blade even if you don't hit any nail myself I don't do the sharpening so I use my blade to the max I will cut 25 to 35 pine logs with one blade and at time more I am talking a average of 14 to 20 in in diameter logs well have a great day
I find that if the blade stays clean and the wood doesn’t have dirt in the bark I could saw quite a few logs with it. I also find that if the blade hits dirt it’s pretty much ready for a Resharpwn almost immediately
I’m thinking if you turn the motor on and let the flat spot on the shaft point to the 8-9 O’clock position that cam will be a lot easier to remove/install.
Hi Sandy, I don’t know how I missed this video but I have a question should you set your curff before you sharpen your blade especially after you’ve sharpened it with something else
If for some reason that link isn't working you can goto my TH-cam channel and check out my Ripper 37 playlist. All of the videos in that playlist have links to where you can buy. Honig Industries would be the Ontario location
If you had not taken so much off the front edge of the stone, would it have also just touched the top of the tooth on the way out in a single pass? Normally they say to sharpen the entire tooth profile not just the face and gullet. I have the same sharpener and generally need 2 passes to get the full tooth shape if I do not want a heavy grind in one area.
Good video and job. I am way behind on videos. I may get a cam don't know which blades to try yet. I am going to have to make a PVC water tank woodland Mills needs change tanks or tell people not to us washer fluid. Mine did just like the tank on your first mill mine has 3 pin holes. Thanks for video take care be safe and well.
Not sure how important speed of a sharpener would be if it can run unattended. Put a blade on it, go do something else, and if it takes ten minutes or two hours it's all the same to me.
Hi Jim. Thanks for checking out the video. I had a rounded profile before I sharpened the stone and unfortunately I still wasn't getting the entire profile. Still trying to fine-tune what it will take to get the whole tooth in one swoop
That works out great that the new cams fit the older style blade sharpener.
Absolutely! I was really happy to hear that
nice and bright with the new lights
It sure is one of those things I wish I did years ago. Now I just need a concrete shop floor

Sandy, nice addition to your blade sharpener, great Video.
Hey TJ. Great to hear from you!
Howdy Sandy- that is really nice that the new cams will fit the older sharpener. And reasonably priced too. Hope all is well. God bless
Thank you! I was happy that the new cams fit too. Allows me to get wider use out of my older sharpener.
Thanks for passing along that info! I didn’t know about the new cams.
Glad I could help!

Much better than having to buy a new machine. Good luck. Good vid. Thanks.

Hi Jerry! Great to hear from ya. Did you get the CBN wheel for your sharpener? How do you like it? Also what motor did you switch to?
@@sawingwithsandy got it, it's a DC12V 20 RPM gear motor about $35.00 YWBL-WH
Thanks Jerry!

That makes sense Carl. I may have to give sharpening of circular saw blades a try. I have a stack of blades here ready to go

I have seen people change the motor to make it run faster.
I heard of that as well
Howdy Sandy.
How many times can a blade be resharpened, from dead dull to almost new?
Thanks
Hi Will. Good question. Think it depends on the blade manufacture. I'd say a solid 4+ sharpens though at minimum
If you had not taken so much off the front edge of the stone, would it have also just touched the top of the tooth on the way out in a single pass? Normally they say to sharpen the entire tooth profile not just the face and gullet. Hey John. Sorry to hear about the pinholes. I think I ended up using JB Weld over the pin holes and it worked well to seal things up on the old mill
Just out of curiosity Have you ever tried to sharpen a blade on the mill with a flap disk on an angle grinder?
I haven’t. That’s something to try though!
I just called to order the additional cams. Now they’re charging $25 here in the states. Why did I wait 2months?
I prefer a wet-grind but those cost lot more.....
Yeah for sure
Thanks for another great video and letting us know about the new cams. Going to get the ripper 37 cams. Happy Sawing 🌲🪵

Should work out for you
Thanks Larry. So far so good. Have a great weekend
get the gullet, or they snap when those cracks take.
For sure
