An object lesson, or spiritual thought. At observatories scientists use optical telescopes to make distant objects appear closer using a series of lenses to gather light, magnify an object, and capture an image. Filters are used to reduce atmospheric distortion. Thus considerable effort is made to understand better how the universe works. In a metaphorical way scriptures are telescopes. Scriptures gather light and magnify truths to us through regular study and prayer. The Holy Ghost can filter, and focus important truths helping us understand how God works. In this song I’ve attempted to convey some of this process and at the same time some specific scriptural events that you might identify with your scripture telescope.
