They won't let you throw trash out at dumpsters they're locked most of the time and if they see you throwing trash bags they usually call the cops or run you off. Coming from someone who lived in a van for 7 years.

once you fall out of your social network and you have no friends or family who will give you money or a place to stay, survival becomes 24/7. There are zero choices when you are homeless and everyone becomes your enemy, even those who are supposed to help you.
cops: let me see your ID
me: I don’t have an ID
cops: go get your ID at the DMV
    DMV: what is your address?
me: I don’t have an address
    DMV: call the cops
cops: you are under arrest for disorderly conduct
    me: what did I do?
    cops: stop resisting

The whole problem is lack of affordable housing we have been living in our car since September when my friend went into hospice care. We have searched and applied for housing and just keep getting told no funds. Tampa housing authority dropped the ball with us in October when we were approved for housing but the only attempt they made was by letter to our old address no phone call no email nothing wasn't till I inquired about it did I find out in May

I live in Pasço and we do have a big homeless issue. Ever since the 2020 election, low income people have gotten even lower. Im so thankful for the little that i have...

Anyone who thinks that can't become homeless is wrong. Given certain circumstances, we could wind up there, God forbid.

13:50 Shes right. In my area, its Mexicans, and sometimes black people who help, mostly. Im not homeless, but close. Really bad housing in the Southwest. Sometimes I hold a sign for a bill, or dog food (guard dog-bad neighborhood), or propane. I report it. Social services calls it "self-employment" 😅. Meh. At least no one harasses me. But yeah. A lot of Mexicans help. Ive applied for jobs. One old fart yelled at me. AFTER he let me go through the entire process. Another mgr, a lady, same thing. But laughed at me. She said, No charge for the pop. Big of you. Im thinking of applying at a few businesses owned by Mexicans, or Asians. Not many blacks own businesses here.

I've been homeless before and when I was nobody even knew I was homeless, I lived in my truck with my dog and I went to work everyday.
Now I live in a neighborhood and we have homeless street people for neighbors and the disrespect from these people is so bad that I've given up on giving them anything Or, doing anything for them.

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of homeless crackdowns. It is going to get harder for these people. Have any of these people subsequently passed away?

    • @FLORIDAHOODVLOGS
      @FLORIDAHOODVLOGS  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

Yes. The guy with the 12 tattoo passed about 2 weeks after the interview. And the girl who said she wants to see TV several people have said she passed. So basically, 1/20 have died in the last year and those are just the ones we know about. The supreme court usually makes some good decisions but it seams like this time they are no longer what they were in the past as well. Sad to see the supreme court give to capitalism instead of human rights given by the principles of the constitution.
