    We had our first frost this week in the UK. I've had to leave some outside that shouldn't be. I'm tucking them in every night with fleece and tarpaulin. Keeping them dry and up against the house and praying they all make the winter. Your plants are very lucky.

      Good luck Felicia! As long as they're dry there's a much better chance they'll be okay :)

    I also have the Spider Farmer LED light, I have been using it for several months inside the house and it is keeping my seedlings at around 78 degrees F. hanging at 24 inches high. they do recommend wearing glasses available on Amazon as the LED lights can be hard on your eyes if your not careful..Otherwise I think it is a great light and does not use much power as it consumes a little less then 100 watts according to some of the reviews, which is fantastic for so much light.

    Hi there! I found your Awesome video and collection that must have grown a lot bye now as I'm hoping to buy an SF 1000. I have been considering a grow tent for my cactus to get them out of the window but I really don't like how they look and I like what you've done and also your pleasantness! Do you think it would be possible to convert a 3x3 closet into a grow space?

    • @SucsForYou
      @SucsForYou  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You need really great air flow for succulents. A 3x3 would be okay for a few plants but only with a fan. How about an open table top with a stand for the lights? You'd get to enjoy them more as well 🙏

    • @psst...heyyou6508
      @psst...heyyou6508 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ahh I see. That's the kind of information I need because I've never had cactus inside. The way my closet is I could have it open and with a fan and still enjoy them but I'm sure I will enjoy them more if they're out as you suggested! I will think about how to have them out in my space... if I can convince my kitty that is. I'm enjoying your channel by the way and thanks for your answer! Have a great day!! 🙏🏼🕊️♥️

      @@psst...heyyou6508 Welcome! A lot of people use shelves with multiple lights for each level. I like a wider single surface because it needs fewer light fixtures and is easier to tend to.

    Hi Andrea! I posted a comment earlier under someone else’s but it didn’t show up so I’ll try it again here. I am new to the cacti hobby with a collection of about 50. This is my first year to overwinter. I live in Missouri, and while I can control soil moisture and temperature my biggest concern is light during the winter months. All my plants will fit on a 2’ by 4’ table. I have them at a west facing window as that is the only window that gets any sun at all really, but I think I may need to add a little additional lighting on the many dreary days we have with no direct/indirect light. I’m considering getting two gooseneck lamps that I can position over the table. I am totally confused about the bulbs. I’ll go with LED, but don’t really want the pink/red ones if I don’t need to because of the street view. And since My goal is to keep the plants healthy and not encouraging growth, I’m confused as to what I should look for. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

    • @SucsForYou
      @SucsForYou  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have experience w/ the goosenecks but you'll want at least 100w for that area. Check out the lights I've linked to here and see if they have a smaller version in your budget :) amazon.com/shop/sucsforyou

    I grew great tasting pot with this little beast in a 2x2, so I'm sure your sucs will totally love that light :)

  • @fuzagi
    @fuzagi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i'm thinking that the LED panel would be more efficient in helping the sucs if places slightly below the fluorescent fitting, as the LED rays (towards the right) are being blocked by the fluorescent fitting's side panel. one of the good things with LED is that they have a wide beam angle and we could make use of that in this application

    Hi, I'm trying to top-light a single enormous euphorbia ingens (succulent) in a south-facing window.
    I have one pendant 30W 6500K 2550 lumens LED T bulb, which I am thinking of replacing with one 55W 6400K 3150 lumens LED CF. Losing 100K for an extra >20% seems a good trade, but I'm not sure.
    Combining two 6500K lamps is difficult (two 30W lamps or one 30W and one 20W) because beam angles necessitate wide reflectors.

    • @SucsForYou
      @SucsForYou  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      40-50 true watts per square meter is what you're after, like the actual wattage pulled from the power source. The light from the window is a nice supplement.

      30F is below freezing so that's going to be too cold for most sucs. Whatever you decide, don't water or let them get rained on. I'm keeping most of mine in the garage under a grow light for the main purpose of keeping them out of the rain :)

    I'm looking ahead to next winter (just recently started with sucs) and considering different grow lights/set-ups. I'm just concerned about the heat output, as I've got a relatively small apartment. Did these ones end up getting really hot or was it just warm after being on for several hours?

    • @SucsForYou
      @SucsForYou  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heat shouldn't be a problem but it is still a good idea to keep a fan on nearby to help move the heat of the light off the plants and help w/ air circulation which will make them stronger :)

    Hi Andrea,
    I have about 10 to 15 succulents, definitely new to the hobby. I'm in zone 7 so my plants are inside right now. I have them in a room with a west facing window, as it's the only room I can keep them safe from the cats haha.
    Would a spider farmer grow light be sufficient for them? I'm trying hard not to get discouraged but I can see one of my plants is having major issues! Please help.😂

    • @SucsForYou
      @SucsForYou  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      West facing windows are great! But yes, you'll want more light for the sun-hungrier sucs and I'm betting your collection is going to get a tad bigger 😉This model would be good for a 5x5' growing area with the needier sucs underneath and the others off to the sides. Fluorescents will be cheaper though... I also love my T5 fixture from iPower and usually only need 2 of the 6 bulbs lit unless it's cold outside (they're hanging in my garage on a 3x6' table). I have several recommendations here: amazon.com/shop/sucsforyou
