I wasnt brought up in the glorious Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints. I feel l am a prized possession of the Lord's true church. I was a convert. I was schooled listening to hallowed Apostles and Prophets of this divine church. I made meagre income, l was rich, however being blessed to hear these golden tapes by Apostles . H B Brown's voice is as familiar to me as was my own father's. I knew NOT whom God was, until l learned of the golden plates and sweet Joseph ❤Smith. He lives, Christ lives. Members of the Lord's church are blessed with the incredible gift of the Holy Ghost, personally given after our baptism. I often feel cut down by the world's scoffed, they are ignorant through their own pride. l am thankful when our Lord cuts me back, cuts me back. I so testify.. 🇬🇧
This talk made me weep while driving home today. The spirit was so strong when he told his experience as a young boy in the farm and correlated it with the experience he had as a young man. Truly God is the gardener and he knows what’s best for us because he is our father, he who literally created us in his image. I was impressed by the statement that i’ll paraphrase which is that God sometimes cuts off things in our life because he knows that we’re capable of things much more. God literally knows our worth because we’re instilled with divine heritage. Glory be to our father !!
I’m so glad you could feel His arms around you. Every time I hear this talk, it seems like it’s for the first time. His testimony is like fire in the bones
A man of great experience and subsequent Wisdom. Worth serious pondering, if one believes in God. Even if a person does not. Elder Brown is a person who developed great spiritual and educational depth in his life. He "put first things first": Love of God as the foundation of a Quest for truths in life (the First Great Commandment).
There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.
I don’t agree that you have to “hurt someone because you love them”. I think discipline, guide, counsel, and teach are all better words than hurt. I also wonder if he ever read the BofM? Does he not know that secret combinations have control of government in his day and more so now? Both parties are guilty of unconstitutional and dishonest shenanigans. No party is exempt from the control of power and wealth.
@@ciel1271 I think what is meant by “hurt someone” in his comments is that sometimes we want something so bad and the Lord has a different plan for us and that it may hurt us in the sense that is hard to accept His will over our own. In regard to the government issue, he was referring more so to the system of government that is in place and how, with humility, we should examine the issues at hand and support that which is good for the country on a national and global scale. He spoke of the men in both parties that were in charge at that time being men of integrity. He spoke of those men and a few others, he was not speaking about everyone in government as a whole. He was an Apostle of Jesus Christ. I’m sure he was aware of the corruption but even with that knowledge, one should still have love of country and I believe that was a point he was trying to make.
One of my favorite allegories.
Soulful, unforgettable parable. It's a treat to be taught by Hugh B. Brown.

27:05 for the famous bit in the currant bush and gardening.
One of the best testimonies!
